I don’t have any love for the Bills

I have much less love for the Chiefs and Ravens, though. I don’t wanna watch the Taylor Swift bowl.

My prediction would be Ravens-9ers though.

Yeah, Ratbirds looked very good yesterday. Niners, not so much but they got it done.

Maybe too early to tell, but how fortunate is Green Bay to have such great QB play for 30+ years? Love has really played well the 2nd half of the season.

I'm not a KC guy either, but I read where Andy Reid might be retiring. I can't help but to pull for the guy, he's one of the good ones.

i really freaking hope the bills make it the distance in the AFC.

Well I beg to differ. I never had any feelings towards the Bills at all, but last year they got on my nerves.

The NFL treated them differently than any other team, ever. Then they pissed & moaned about KC getting home field.

If there is any justice, this afternoon's game goes into OT and the Bills get beat by a KC TD & 2 point conversion, after the Bills score 1st in OT.

Damn, I don't like being bitter lol.

Having said that and per your point Bob, I'm only wired to root for the Cleveland Browns regardless if personnel moves can be worrisome at times.  When you have a family tradition of following this team dating back as far as a parent/grandparent watching Otto Graham back in the day - the time to quit such a tradition isn't during the momentum of an 11-6 season.

    Bingo!

We've invested tons of emotion & money into this team. One bad draft, one bad free agent signing, many bad coaches/GMs aren't going to kill my love for the Browns.

Had a right laugh, had a strole out to Brick and Barrel, had a walk out to Ohio City and went in The Angle. Went in Beerhead and Punch Bowl social and dished out some batterings to young uns and an old un on the dart board in Flannerys on East 4th. Was strange when I came out of their at 01.30 as I walked across the square all lit up, there wasn't a sole anywhere to be seen and next to no traffic anorl. Just seemed really peaceful for the centre of a big city. Didn't see anybody till I got back near the flats where there was a few party people mulling around. Everybody I met on the trip were brilliant and the hospitality was exceptional. Was funny when I had my Houston backers shirt on, other Browns fans looked right surprised when I opened my gob, had a couple of 'well you're not from Texas' comments. Went in Rock n Roll Hall of Fame which was excellent, must have spent over 4 hours in there and went in The Civil War memorial which was interesting. A very enjoyable holiday . Will see how the schedule falls and might pop back over a bit earlier in the season next time. Cheers.

Perfect!! Glad you had a great time

I'm hoping they play Jaguars at Wembley. I think Vikings have the game in Germany. Been looking at our away games and  several of them have MLS teams so that's got my cogs turning, the chance of some Browns action with some of our type of football thrown in could get me clocking up the miles again. Last trip came in just a bit short of 11,000 miles.

Sorry if I missed it, how did you enjoy your time in Cleveland? I remember you posted you were looking for some good pubs/bars, just wondering where you went?

  6. Seems like our fan base can never be happy.

Ever since Kosar got cut, it's a constant debate or love affair with the second-string QB.

I've said it a gazillion times, Baker was the right guy at the time. Perfect attitude to overcome Hue Jackson. Neither Allen, Rosen, or Darnold would have survived Hue's ineptitude, and I refuse to be talked out of that.

It's too damn bad that the Browns have made some decisions that burned 'em, like Kitchens as HC , signing OBJ, not sitting Mayfield. Those 3 things probably cost them a couple playoff berths.

It's not perfect even now, but for once, can this fan base actually appreciate what they have now, and the (hopeful) promise of what lies ahead? I always thought we had great fans, but I'm doubting it more everyday. Social media has kind of killed my faith in humanity, and it's killing our fan base.

    Go Browns.

So let the people buy the tickets and go/or stay home and watch/or listen to the radio at home if blacked out.  I can see that.  As a choice, I like radio games especially with our local guys.

●-> Some players get hurt  every game, it's just part of it  but  when do having 69+ people in the stands count for something ?  Or does it ?   Or just too bad,  tough breaks you should have stayed home ..... i guess ?.

Should there be allowance for dangerously cold game WARNINGS  from the national weather service in Cleveland or Pittsburgh ?   YES/NO for games ?  Should it be binding (required) or just a notice and the NFL (or MLB)  can do whatever ..... but it really messes schedules especially football ļ

●-->   This is a tough question with  NO  easy answer .... it always has been.   In the final analysis  let the customer decide.     Like Bob said in a lot less words.

I can tell you I went down to the New Orleans game last year, & left after about 25 steps from parking my car.

To me, it's the wind. When it gets below 15-20*, and it's windy, I'm just not into it. Never bothered me until recently.

I just think people need to pay attention to the weather forecast & decide if they're up for it.

Now, stefanie calls the plays, is head coach. The rbs are playing terrific, so you fire the rb coach? Njoku is an ALL PRO and you fire the TE coach? Van Pelt is a guy who is well known as an excellent coach.
It's stefanie that calls the plays, runs the show, is head coach.

yeah, stefanie - Mayfield throws for 337 yards against the EAGLES defense? 3 touchdowns? 32-9 ? but you play him as the guy that made you fail? What about now? That last playoff loss, you suck.

Mayfield did look good, but the Eagles looked like a 5th grade CYO team trying to tackle. Honestly, I'm not discrediting Baker at all, hit hit the guys on the numbers....but I swear 220+ yards were after the catch & arm tackles.

I've got no stake in the TB-Lions game, let's see how it goes. The Lions aren't a great pass D.

Not that surprising, he’s up there in age and the eagles have a pretty dismal outlook in the near future.

    Counterpoint (I don't like Philly):

They just fell apart down the stretch. They have good skill guys, a pretty good coach.

Free agency & a draft can fix it, but no guarantee. We know this all to well unfortunately.

AB needs to get his stubborn head on the Inside Mike Linebacker market. Paying punters off the street more $$ than Walker to retain Tickie Taki for more? Fold your tent & move on Berry.. JOK needs a new ball hawking partner

so no silver bullet answers from this post

I tend to agree here. There's a lot to like about Berry, but our LB situation has been sub par for a long long time.

I'm not sure if it's due to the NFL increase to 4 & 5 WR sets, or a shift in philosophy with CLE. It just seems JOK is the only one making plays from the LB spot consistently.

Takitaki has been ok with an occasional splash play. Walker is a decent tackler, calls the signals. But they generally lack speed and the DBs make most of the tackles.

This looks like a good place to re-post some of my random Rockhead.

It seemed like every time I watched a road game whether it was in Denver, Seattle, LA or most recently in Houston - the commentators that did their last minute cliff notes research on the Browns wore the following statement out: "The Cleveland Browns have the #1 Defense"  All the while they were doing it Seattle drove their first 2 drives down the field and into the end zone spotting them a 14-3 the Browns couldn't overcome.  Denver bullied the crap out of the #1 Defense and how much did our #1 Defense scare the LA Rams?  ALL that bullshit is like a Peter King designating his annual 1 hour of researching what's going on with the Browns and summarizing it as well as any stranger to them can do it in the 20 minutes or so it takes to write his summary of the Browns.  However, in this case the commentators are stuck doing it for 3 hours; so we get to hear how unbeatable the #1 Defense is from people that are completely unfamiliar with it.

My take?  Our defense came a LONG way from last year; and I was really proud of them for that.  However, you can't patch ALL of your depth and weaknesses in just 1 offseason - especially without a 1st round draft pick (which Houston is in sole possession of).  Schwartz was a much needed addition as we witnessed via his tapping the very best of Myles Garrett, JOK and Denzel Ward.  The DT position was the biggest improvement in talent, depth and performance.  Unfortunately, we missed the big plays at the best of times from Mo Hurst in our rotation after he went on IR.  Meanwhile, our secondary got exposed for all to see yesterday and in LA.  I would have added Denver but Denzel Ward was out that game so Newsome got completely overwhelmed trying to cover their #1 WR Sutton.  Probably the most embarrassing moment (shortly after the 5th time we had to hear the Browns have the #1 defense) was when a Denver Receiver got deep with nobody covering him or within 30 yards of him.  Luckily he was overthrown.  Having said that, earlier on they completed a deep pass to a receiver that easily got behind our secondary and Newsome made the TD saving tackle.  No doubt CJ had a great day; but it would have been nice if our corners at least competed to the extent that he had to throw them open.  That wasn't required at all of CJ.  We all loved what Schwartz did for our defense this season; but Houston was better prepared on both sides of the ball.  I was worried about securing the football and turnovers; but even without their 2 pick 6s - their offense still scored 31 points on drives/big play passes.

Reality is the Browns didn't win 11 games by accident.  They earned a lot of hard fought victories in spite of their injury volumes on both sides of the ball. I think we were all proud of them for that. We'll got our top 2 RTs back next year and hopefully a harder working/more inspired Wills at LT.  We can draft someone in the 2nd round this time around instead overrating the crap out of another Eli Moore.  In rounds 2-4, please draft a DB/Safety with smarts, find the next version Fred Warner at LB in round 3 and perhaps a RB that doesn't blow off daylight for tap dances. The dream is to get Nick Chubb back in the lineup.   I hope the FO & Stefanski is prepared for the possibility of losing Schwartz.  If that does happen, is their a Defensive Coach here that learned the system enough to be promoted for the sake of continuity and the popularity of the scheme from the players?

We're gonna see so don't change that station - especially for Peacock!

Well said. I'm not really upset, the Browns are headed in the right direction for sure.

It's going to be hard to watch the rest of the playoffs for me. Ratbirds, Steelers, Bills, 49ers, Eagles...I really can't stand those teams.

    Go Browns!!!

We were rooting for a 3 legged junkyard dog in the playoffs.

It was a fun ride, but a terrible way to end the season.

I thought we stood a puncher’s chance against Houston, but we didn’t play well.

    It was a magical season!

    Ditto.

Really sad ending, unexpected really (to get blown out).

Cooper was a non-factor sadly. The heel.  Moore invisible

On the bright side, David Bell looks great all of a sudden.

    Won't watch peacock, won't subscribe.

Hopefully the Ratbirds & 49eez won't be in the SB
