Baker isn't doing ANYTHING in this conservative dink and dunk offense Stefanski has installed.

He ruined WR Stefon Diggs in Minnesota until he left for Buffalo to become a pro bowl-type receiver.  He is ruining OBJ now.  The guy just doesn't like the pass game.  He has installed this 1991 archaic offense of running the ball constantly instead of the upgraded 2021 passing attack of today's NFL.

Look at baker when we spread the offense and let him throw indiscriminately.  He balls out.  Stefanski in Minnesota made Kirk Cousins regress (now Cousins is doing better without him), and now Baker--not to mention the WRs. OPEN UP AND SPREAD THE OFFENSE AND GUN SLING -- THAT'S HOW YOU SET UP BAKER TO WIN.  Otherwise Baker should leave, because Stefanski is killing his value.

In 2019 when Stefanski was coordinator for the Vikings Diggs caught 63 balls for 1130 yards with 6 TD’s in 15 games. His YPC was 17.9 which is the highest in his career by a large margin. I’m Buffalo first 2 seasons his YPC was 12.1 and 12.5.

It got posted in another thread... Hospital Ward is OUT against the Steelers. Bad hammy.

We need to start drafting / acquiring bigger stronger and more durable  DB’s. We have 3 now none of whom are that. Great when they play but as the saying does the greatest ability on game day is availability.

  3. Last weeks game day food at my house went south of the border  Rich spicy Asado de Chile Colorado with a double cheese and onion enchilada. I used the Blackstone griddle to toast the arbol and guajillo chiles, sauté the onion and brown a cubed 10 lbs pork butt. Chiles simmered in chicken broth  and then blended with the onion and broth for the amazing red sauce. Cumin, garlic, Mexican oregano, smoked paprika , bay leaf, sea salt , a little touch of peanut butter and a tiny splash of vinegar round out the flavors. Simmered for a few hours until the pork was melt in your mouth tender. Enchilada is 100% cheddar shell filled with shredded pepper jack and onions. One of my all time favorite meals.

Agree we are entering must win territory and our QB and Defense are too inconsistent to rely on any games down the road being easier. If they aren’t doing so now  i think Woods and the Secondary should be going on the second day of an all nighter watching film and figuring out assignments.  The excuse last year they weren’t fast enough or good enough - what is this year?

It becomes a hurt or injured question too.  We have some guys that play hurt and others sit out after 8 plays in a game.  Others play hard and fast and need to get carried off the field before they will leave.

The only glaring personnel issue I see is Hudson playing now. I may have called in a street free agent Sunday night.  He’s a clear liability and it is impacting the play calls.  Other than that our backups are more than capable to account for the guys out with an actual injury.

IMO must win doesn’t mean we have to play Mayfield. I’m his current condition as well others must win might be better handled by backups against Denver.

I love how Browns fans still try and make some kind of rivalry exist between the Steelers and the Stains.  The browns aren't even relevant in the NFL, so how can they be part of any kind of rivalry?  It's a shit organization, with shit coaches, and shit players, and shit fans.  That's why they're called the browns, it's the same color as shit.  Browns fans have always been delusional though, so stupidity is to be expected.  I love how high hopes are every year in Cleveland, and then the bubble just bursts...and it bursts quick too.  It's even better when all these stains fans come out of the woodwork and start complaining about the refs and how the NFL just doesn't like Cleveland, instead of just saying, Hey, we just happen to root for a sucky team.  Plus, in all reality, the NFL probably does hate Cleveland...nobody cares about them.  They'll probably take that team soon too.  Maybe give it to a real city!!

  6. Today was a solid F. last week was maybe a D+ and the first two weeks were A’s. Let’s hope it’s his shoulder and it heals quickly. Honestly though if his injured shoulder makes him play this badly Keenum should have played. He was 3rd strong rookie bad today. Not only did he miss guys by miles long and high he just continually didn’t see the easy open man. I couldn’t get the play where Felton was so open for a short first down he was holding an I’m open neon billboard. I still can’t fathom that one. Between last week and this week he has blown throws on at least 4 easy TD balls. I’m a fan of Baker but this has to improve fast if we are going anywhere this year. I also was frustrated more than once today when Stefanski abandoned the run as bad as Bake played. I think the one series we were on the 1 and passed 2/3 plays despite our monster running game. Only thing that bailed us out was a dumb penalty on the Vikings.

  7. Definitely thinning out. I disagree on Higgins though. I feel like he’s always produced when called on and given a decent amount of snaps. I think the TE’s , Felton and even Hunt will see a lot more targets. I suppose they may call Davis up this week too as he did clear waivers and sign onto the practice squad.

.....because he played for 2 teams that didn't have any other notable DL.  If you bring 4 you can double someone....and on Seattle and Tennessee, he was the best option.  ....I love how you guys think now it will be different!  As if there isn't YEARS of tape showing him to be a mediocre player.

I think most people who have this opinion of Clowney measure with sacks. You don’t take into account his impact on the run game or QB pressures. I think that early and often in this game Garrett, Clowney, McKinley, Mcdowel and JOK are going to assault your O line. That’s especially true on the right side. Let’s see how that impacts Mahomes.

I loved seeing him in the preseason game! It's funny, we tried a go route and Baker actually made a great throw but Schwartz quit on the route. Schwartz jumped 9ne step early instead of remaining in stride or else the throw is probably perfect. That's just a timing thing and something that can be ironed out. Schwartz being in the preseason game means he's healthy enough to practice and he'll be ready for week 1 pending a setback.

First play deep strike TD against KC? I can see it happening.

  10. I’m very late to seeing this as I’ve been very busy and between work and COVID season I haven’t been active here. This has always been my fav Brownsboard though. I’ve read so many of Gippers posts. Didn’t agree with many but one thing was always obvious and that was he loved the Browns. RIP, Sure is sobering the older we get seeing more and more folks pass. Makes me really ponder how much longer before I retire and enjoy!
