    Here's our 1st round pick  :)

The Cleveland Browns have signed free agent OL Germain Ifedi. The club also placed T Justin Murray on reserve/retired.

Ifedi (6-5. 325) is entering his ninth NFL season out of Texas A&M. Originally a first-round pick by Seattle in 2016, Ifedi has appeared in 102 career games with 83 starts with the Seahawks (2016-19), Bears (2020-21) and Falcons (2023). He has made 59 career starts at right tackle and 24 right guard. Last season, he spent most of the season on the Bills' active roster but did not appear in a game.

    He's better at guard IMO.

Last year at this time, BYU had a WR entering the draft that was 6-1 208lbs and not very well known by NFL Draft enthusiasts.  His name is Puka Nacua and he was selected by the Rams in the 5th round (as their last of 4 picks in that round).  More specifically, he became their 8th pick.  Here's a written summary of the selection: Non-stop motor and aggressive attitude helped Nacua overachieve for the Cougars... Good hands and body control... Can be dangerous on reverses and sweeps... Not a deep threat... Will make it difficult for the Rams to cut him, but he's not a game-breaker...

In 2023, this rookie had 105 receptions 1486 yards 6 TDs 14.2 yards per catch.   Against the Browns he had 4 rec 105 yard 1 TD 26.3 ypc and 2 carries for 34 yards. Let's just say we got acquainted more than we wanted to.

Why all this?   There's really good prospects all over this country that aren't on national television every week.  These are the gems in rounds 5-7 that award the teams that put in the research and the GMs that trust that research.

    Ainias Smith   LOL!

  3. No good place to put this, but I thought it would be worth posting since it's baseball.

Baseball Conventional Wisdom at all levels tells you that you should never, ever under any circumstance intentionally put the winning run on base in the bottom of the 9th playing away from home in a tie game.

However, with one away and the guy at the plate having already had two prior HRs in the game, that conventional wisdom should be thrown out with a little common sense. Do not throw to a hot hitter. Otherwise........................................well this can happen.

The Aggies have a great chant that would have applied here last night, "Walking's cheaper (clap clap........clap, clap, clap,  repeat, etc.).

Do I dare say that could be one of the best things that happened to our 2024 draft?  And "with the 85th pick of the NFL Draft the Cleveland Browns select Defensive Tackle and Happy Hour Coordinator T'Vondre Sweat from the Texas Longhorns in conjunction with the Travis State Penitentiary."

Once upon a time (1988) Al Davis drafted a DE Scott Davis 25th overall out of Illinois that was in jail during the draft.

Now where is cal to defend this guy? After all we had videos of a drunk Baker Mayfield with cops before we drafted him.

Give it a shot - it's just for fun.  Try to make it someone projecting in the vicinity of the draft slot in round 2. I'll start with a slight reach (and I'm thinking we might even draft a RB in the next round).  Here's my selection for the Browns at Pick #54 in Round 2 (and if he head butts Rodger Goodell - I'll give him a $200 bonus):

LT Kiran Amegadjie - Yale, 6-5 321lbs 37 inch arms  - 2 time All Ivy League 1st Team Selection.  Strong, fast, fierce and agile.  Led his team to 2 Ivy League Championships.  In 2015, the Bucs drafted Division 3 OG Ali Marpet out of Hobart in the 61st slot overall and he eventually made the Pro Bowl.  1 Mock Draft in Athlon Sports Draft Mag has the KC Chiefs drafting Amegadjie at #63 overall to protect the blindside of Mahomes.  Right now LT is a glaring weakness on the blindside of QB the Browns have invested a lot of money in.  LTs go fast in the draft so it might be very well worth the reach.

I like your pick but my bet is on the DL first. All depends on who is there, so no real pick other than positional for me.

I know, It is a beautiful thing. I saw it in 2017

My brother is here and has a T-shirt with both dates on it now from the 2017 drive up into Wyoming. We had a very clear break in the clouds from about 10 minutes before till 10 minutes after the total eclipse. I had seen the one in N.C. in 1970, so this was the second for wife and me as well. This one was far better with the NASA approved glasses which we could remove when it was in total eclipse. Had a red streak like a minute hand from the middle to 6 o'clock on the moon. It was awesome for just over 3 minutes in our back area clearing. Had our married Iraq/Afganistan veteran neighbors over for lunch before, during and after. I had to sit isolated outdoors due to current Covid 19 (which I am now recovering from thank goodness).

You keep it up, and he'll be forced to change his handle again. 🤣

A friend of mine is a Miata guy (and a Mustang guy....usually has a couple of both).  Not much power...but not much car.  The Miata is a blast to drive around.

I need you to convince my wife. Her argument against it is the high number of idiots around here with monster pickup trucks, often with huge steel deer catchers on the front. I keep telling her if one of those hits her larger Subaru Outback she'd be just as dead. And the Miata has a nice steel cage around you which is why it does so well in crash tests. I even tell her she can quickly get it away from those monsters with an agile car like that, but she remains stubbornly unconvinced.🥲
