And an LS swapped Miata gets you there even more so.💪

Now that there was definitely a pro driver. I was a pro skydiver capable of standing on my head going 200 mph plus to swoop in on linked up group below me and flaring out perfectly slowing to around 120 mph to join in the circle. Now that I could do. Driving a car that way-no way Jose. Unless you count taking my Honda cycle up through the twisties of the mountains of Colorado. That I could do very, very well without skydiving over the side even though I swear that thing was so fast I believe it could fly too.  LOL!

Congrats!!   As a past work-mate once said to me, the trick is making it to retirement.   Sadly, he didn't.   Nor did many of my closest friends.   -  I retired this past January.  The 8th was my last day.  Since then I've done many projects around the house that I wouldn't have dreamed of because...I didn't have the time.   :)

Again, congrats!  And let's have a long and happy retirement!

And congrats to you to Orion. I retired at age 61 and have never regretted it for one day. I had invested in as many IRAs and other things like IRAs in addition to getting a real retirement from the old VA system which is better than the new one by far. Did the same with my wife's retirement. Sacrifices of unneeded high end items during work days allowed us to pay off a house and contribute to IRAs, etc. Why buy a Mercedes when a Mazda or a Subaru gets you there and back for half the cost? Now if I could just convince her that the Mazda Miata has the highest safety and reliability ratings of any car made, retirement could be even more fun. I gave up the Honda VFR 800. Safety belts don't work well on those. But it sure got great gas mileage on my 90 mile roundtrip trek to work and back my last 8 years. I have a whole story on my triple driving violation ride one day that the trooper just gave me a warning ticket for. I think he was surprised when I told him I was definitely guilty of all three with a smile on my face. His closing comment as he gave me the break was, "Do you always drive that thing like that?"  LOL!

He seems a decent kid, despite the corny ass goalpost "meditation" and he was the QB on a national championship squad.  So that will also get you looks.

It isn't so much his throws, as it was his decision making.  50/50. And the UM coaching staff was very intent on taking the ball out of his hands at times.  On one side, I understand and JJ did what was asked of him.  On the other side, there were quite a lot of times the offense failed to function when it ran through the QB.

Not so much what I *am* seeing, as what I *am not* seeing.   The problem is overvaluing the prospect.

JJ is no better a prospect than Will Levis and he fell out of the first round entirely.

I often wonder how much of these stories are cooked up by GMs and front offices that "lesser" GMs eat up and end with making a reality out of said hype.

Yep, it's the silly season and only the dumbest fall for the fake outs.

Good Night of Carolina College Basketball !  🏀 what'd I miss?

Like 7-11... WR's are always open. What fans hate when they get open? Is WR drop rates..

It's @TexasAg1969 Birthday week.. HB pal ! Would you believe we both logged in here 10 years ago !

Texas A&M WR Ainias Smith has a pair of great catching hands.. 1.9% drop rate

Drop rates for some top WRs in the 2024 #NFLDraft:

    • Johnny Wilson: 16.1%

    • Javon Baker: 10.6%

    • Devontez Walker: 8.5%

    • Troy Franklin: 7.3%

    • Keon Coleman: 7.2%

    • Marvin Harrison Jr: 6.9%

    • Ladd McConkey: 6.3%

    • Xavier Worthy: 5.4%

    • Malik Nabers: 4.9%

    • Xavier Legette: 4.8%

    • Rome Odunze: 4.8%

    • Ja’Lynn Polk: 4.8%

    • Brian Thomas Jr: 3.8%

       Ainias Smith:   1.9%

    • Adonai Mitchell: 1.7%

coded as DR. more WR draftee details here https://steelersdepot.com/2024/03/2024-nfl-draft-wr-prospects-pff-grades-big-board-ranks/  bonus stats on contested catches

    Browns drop rates last season..

    Last year
    Coop- 6.2
    Chief- 9.3
    Moore- 7.6
    Bell- 8.3
    Tillman- 4.6
    Jeudy- 6.9

I've been saying all along that Ainias Smith has great hands which makes him an excellent pick to fill multiple roles besides WR. KO and Punt returner too. Why waste roster space on 3 when you can get them all in one.

Kenny Britt?   I called him Kenny Brat; and some guy said something like "if you don't like him you can follow someone else."  I took the greenlight and said something like: I do. I follow the players on this team that are at least trying to be professionals.

When it comes down to the reality only 1 of 32 teams is interested in paying you anything close to your asking price - it's not the time to be an "I before team" kind of low-life.  I think Belichick signed him shortly after thinking he could CPR a football heart in that hollow inner chest.  No luck there either.

EDIT: Google is my friend. Dwayne Bowe-caught 5 passes for us in 2015. 1 time All-pro before we gave away money for nothin'.

This is who I was thinking about Tom. Britt actually caught a few passes and made some yards. This guy did didly squat.

Yeah, who was that one we got about 9 or 10 years ago that pulled that on us and barely ever caught a pass before leaving the Browns and NFL for good? Ever since I turned 77 yesterday my memory is reflective of our unnamed candidates both sides of the ball. 🙃🏳️‍🌈🙃

I think someone else said this; but I'd sure love to see some contract incentives in these guaranteed contracts.  A guy can get a soft tissue injury that gets measured by what is your pain/discomfort on a scale of 1-5?  If he's a sand-bagger - he'll milk that right out far longer than necessary IMO.

Tell you what I got swarmed by pop up ads in that.  What I like about it in comparison to the draft mags - is they update stuff on prospects throughout the weeks/months leading up to the draft.  My draft mag was on the shelf in the stores within a week of the Combines which means it was printed and shipped before/during the Combines.  That said, the mag still has all the prospects, football skills ratings/rankings by position and overall, mock draft and more...

Well if we actually had a 1st rounder or high up there 2nd rounder I might be interested in buying a draft mag. But down where we start I'm going to assume we go for big uglies on one side of the ball or the other for our 1st two picks. LB is a maybe depending upon how they see Bush & Hicks fitting in. Right now they list as starters in the depth chart according to ourlads.

Am I sure?  I don't even know if we're agreeing or disagreeing; so the question is - what do you think Mr MeAggies?

I was pulling both your and tia's legs because you think so highly of Walter and who does he rate as the best ILB? The guy the Bucs (or one of the Texas pro teams) will take off the board. And with decent coaching he will be just fine as a pro IMO.

We aren't privy to all the info on the injury, of course, but absolutely they could and should have some concern regarding this injury. Shoulder injuries to throwing athletes are never something to easily dismiss.

But we are where we are with this. Honestly, I wouldn't be shocked if there's a setback or two and he ends up on the injured list to start the season. I also wouldn't be shocked if he barely plays this season. I'm not saying either is going to happen, but I wouldn't be shocked.

And the same can be said for Chubb with knee injuries to RBs. That is why I like the Foreman signing. Got to be ready for worst case for either one or both of these players.

It needed new horizons and willingly hitches itself to the wagons of Taylor Swift and sports gambling. GMs want/need each because the money will just keep getting bigger and bigger.

Maybe that makes the math less fuzzy, my guess is that it will only make the math more fuzzy.

Well we couda signed Swift but Chicago gave him a 3 year deal on March 13 for $24mil.

Two full games later in the season - vs LSU then Ole Miss.  Just more of the same.

The increase in sacks was interesting.  So where A&M switched up their deployment was alternating who the 4th man was in pressure in there 3 man, odd front.   If this kid is the 2nd LB off the board, it's a pretty weak draft class.

Well, it will be interesting to follow how he does as a pro wherever TB takes him.  LOL!😁

thanks brother i appreciate it, It is gonna be kinda awesome sleeping in on a monday after A Browns victory on a sunday

Sleeping in? What's that? When you have two cats who play double team on you some time between 4 and 5 am, then all you can do is appreciate the fact that as nocturnal animals they like afternoon naps as much as you do.  😻😻🤣

176 day's, seems after you get passed the 80's time moves a little faster

My grandmother who lived to 98 once told me that time accelerates once you get past 70. She said the time between 50 and 70 does seem like about 20 years, but the time between 70 and 90 seemed more like about 2.

Anyway, welcome to retirement (soon). I have never once regretted it.

What boosted his combine score was his 40 time.  There was no shuttle or 3 cone. And downhill, straight line speed as a linebacker is no where near as important as being able to move, start and stop, laterally to recover or pursue.   Combine that with the slower eyes and processing....  I have concerns.

And, from the two games I've watched so far, that lack of above average sideline to sideline really stands out.

"Leadership" is a cliche' term.  You have to be an elite rookie, contributing immediately, to be a leader.   You have to contribute to be a leader period.    So that's a non-factor in this particular eval.

I think you will find the sideline to sideline you are looking for in later games in the season. That is where you will find the improvements and better stats from 2022 to 2023 seasons.  https://www.espn.com/college-football/player/_/id/4430438/edgerrin-cooper

I come running to nobody's aid. I post the shit because I feel the same way and I'm honest about it. So if I call you I wannabe cocksucker please realize that I do so with the utmost respect for the absolutely nothing you bring to the discussion.

I've been saying the exact same shit about DeShaun Watson, that I said to Tex, since they made that stupid trade. And so far I've been right. By the way he's not a top 10 quarterback either. And not another team of the league (no matter how QB deficient they were) was willing to pay that kind of money. So fuck off.

    WSS

For Cleveland Mayfield went 29-30 for games started in 4 years.

For Cleveland Watson is 8-4 for games started in 2 years.

I'd say the jury is still out for 2 more years before you can make a decision about whether Watson is the better (or worse) Browns QB of the two.

You and cal both decided he was worse from the getgo. Only time will tell whether you were both right or wrong.
