  1. Not sure why the JAX coaching staff hasn't tried copying the receiver motions we've seen teams like BLT and LA hit us with. We're starting a lot of green players in that secondary, making them communicate pre and post snap is winning the mental battle. Instead they're handing us an advantage.
  2. Receiver expected man? Got zone and didn't throttle back down the stem? Best I can figure.
  3. Questionable holding call on 3rd. By the time the hold was evident, the DB was already making contact on Kareem who was past the 1st.
  4. When you're reading a window with timing? Not at the level you're attempting to think it is here. Because by the time you see the WR clear into the window as a full target, you're already late. You still have to take into account throwing motion and ball flight time.
  5. Receivers picked themselves without proper spacing. Just bad fortune there on a timing throw.
  6. INT. Now put your foot down, get any type of points and force JAX to abandon any type of their running game.
  7. Wowzer. Jags have been packing it in all drive, 10 bodies within 8 yards. Dagger on 3rd. Kevin "Fancy" Stefanski...
  8. Why does Trevor Lawrence look like the lead singer from Puddle of Mudd circa 20 years ago?
  9. Nah, this isn't Manziel territory level drinking. Not angry, just sort of ....well, 'meh' on it. Delpit is what he is. The problem is you're going to have fans celebrating this as some type of 'coup and that Grant is a pro-bowl DB. This is the part that saves it for me. I don't believe the Brownies are overpaying, but I also understand how tight the $ situation is. Have to be cautious dealing out any extra for players who have a skillset that can be replaced by cheap(er), younger DB's within a limited time frame. Same can be said for any position, but I just feel we've about seen most of GD's ceiling.
  10. I think the distinction here is what we both qualify as "open". Tillman is going to play that classic 'X' role. So his level of open is going to be a bit less of separation than say, Moore or Coop. He's the receiver who is going to win the contested catches and work in very limited spacing. This is where his elite de-acceleration comes into play. Problem is, what he needs more than anything for that style to succeed is continuity and ability at the QB position. We've simply lacked the former and quite a bit of the latter this season. Marques Colston ... Go check him out with Drew Brees. His contested catch rate was unreal.
  11. Working on a few things, I'll post one here and the rest in my film thread when I get the chance. Sunday underscored why we struggle to play 2 high. A couple early busts that the Rams didn't connect on early, which you can't see from broadcast view, setup the bigger shots later. Schwartz also tried some things we really haven't done much of this year - zone blitz being the biggest. I think because he loves sending pressure this season to mask some issues on the backend. But the way the Rams structure their motions, there were misscommunctions on the first couple Rams drives in man coverage and pass offs/replacement. One we were fortunate didn't end up with 6 to Kupp. But those things were filed away for later by the Rams coaches and they hit in a big way. The zone looks would make sense to help fix those, but we ended up getting 6 to Nakua on a middle field read against an inverted cover 2. Just a bad day in general from the DBs and LBs. The latter have been the weakest unit on the team since the IDL was addressed. Edit: re: Delpit and Mcloud - MC has a bit more discipline on the backend. But he lacks ideal physical abilities to be top tier at the position. He's rarely beat because of his eyes and mind. Delpit is the opposite. Great physical gifts, still gets his eyes and mind lost at times. One of the trends, when we go 2 high, is to play him almost exclusively to the boundary. Coaches are trying to give him as little field to cover as possible because of his struggles.
  12. BB is right here, York. WonderBar is a stop, but only in name sake. Nothing really special. Then again, I'm not big on "special" places. Give me a reasonable volume, lower lighting, a few nice TV's, solid food and hooch and I'm sound as a pound. But if you can get a Po boy - do it. And if you can get a pie from Angelo's - also do just that. edit: York, I might end up having the week between Xmas and NYE off. I had it off last year, but we've had some rough months lately so who knows? If I do, I already have friends talking about being downtown or at least in vicinity for the game, being that it's a Thursday night. If I am off, keep an eye on your PM's. Might be around to buy you a drink and show you some Ohio hospitality.
  13. Dude didn't start getting meaningful snaps until the last 4 weeks. He's 7 for 16 targets with zero drops. 3 of those 4 games were with DTR and PJ throwing passes. No idea how you've managed to arrive at any sort of 'bust' conclusion.
  14. The Jags are about the same level of team the Brownies are. It would be sad, but let's not pretend they're worlds below us. That said, with Lawrence and potentially Kirk out, it would be a huge win. To the point I'd consider sitting Denzel and Myles vs Chicago and Houston for the last push against NYJ and Cincy. There's nothing to gain from playing the Bears, IMHO.
  15. There's a couple spots. First that I would presume you're talking about is Wonder Bar?
  16. Good game. Flacco showed out like a true vet, just had an ill-timed int. Defense struggled giving up big plays all game. Shocked how well the offense showed out on the road. Testament to the coaches and the vets.
