Morning after Nick Saban retires... Belichick walks away from NE
tiamat63 replied to Dutch Oven's topic in THE BROWNS BOARD
Re: Schwartz. Pretty understood, from his time in DET, that he's sort of an asshole. Now, he's closer to 60 than he was in 2010, so maybe he's chilled out a bit and took on an actual leadership role. In the same theme, the man is closer to 60 now. He might not be interested in taking on a head coaching job at this point. -
If you ever get a chance to meet the man - don't. I knew a girl who was a paralegal at one of his offices (he has a couple locations) and I was invited to a 'race night' The pre-recorded horse race videos, the raffles, open bar, etc etc. Anyhizzle, The Mis makes a cameo appearance. He might have been there 30 minutes? Yeah.... Belligerent douchebag, especially to the serving staff. I might be a sarcastic asshole, and yes I can come across as brash at times; but I'm fair and a bit more measured than most. T.M. though? Total shitbird. Obviously this is becoming of nothing and he's a local media sensation, it's just a shame it has to be attached to such a miserable human.

HOU is solid against the run and, well, CLE isn't currently a good rushing team. Given that Anderson and most of the Texans Dline will be back to play, it's going to take a hell of an effort from the Oline and Ford to make them respect running the rock enough to keep them from teeing off on Flacco. Pressure rates rise, turnovers tend to come with it. Joe needs to avoid the silly throws, including the one's we've seen where they miraculously break our way and don't hurt the offense. That only goes so far before it bites you in the ass. Texans Oline is shaky, Brownies pass rush will be what makes or breaks the day. Stroud is a great young QB. But he's still a rookie making his first playoff start. That and don't let Singletary pop off chunk runs on those HB delays. That hurt is a couple times last out, and I can't stress how difficult it is beating the same team twice in one season at any level. In the end I'm just grateful to see another playoff game given the state of the roster. Should be a great wildcard weekend.

Wait, there are others besides A&M?! My. Gawd.
-
Without even looking up that name I know he has to play for A&M.

Not a fan, but don't hate it either because I know they wanted to get Jamaal in the end zone for his only TD of the year. That said, Famous Jameis put an even bigger target on his back if he ever gets snaps. Especially against ATL.

Bills running game is interesting because, in a sense, it reminds me of Florida with Tebow and the Percy, Demps, Rainey and Moody. Tim handles the interior running game and functions as another de-factor running back (Allen) Cook functions as the perimeter runner given that his frame, 5'10, 190lbs, isn't holding up taking 18+ carries a game. He's averaging near 5ypc too.

You're not a belligerent douchebag, I wouldn't do that sort of thing.

Bell acquitted himself nicely today.

Giving Bell a pass/fail grade without any type of consistency from the QB spot is a rough go of things. Especially when he should be occupying that Z or off-ball receiver spot. He doesn't quite have the suddenness and strength to his game that would allow him to play a more "classic" X role like Tillman. And this front office clearly felt Moore was a priority by trading for him and immediately inserting him in the lineup. Not that I blame them for doing as much, but Moore gets snaps where Bell would be getting them. And, as I've said most of the season, using Moore on the outside, especially in the manner they have with him being tagged and/or converting those outside routes vertical, is just a misuse of his proper abilities. Bell is a smooth strider who needs space to get going, but when he has it he can read and leverage himself well. At least, that was his forte at Purdue. He always reminded me a good bit of Jabar Gaffney. That's the type of receiver, especially giving the salary crunch issues, you want on your team because of his quiet effectiveness. Moving on from him so early, especially with Moore's future in question because of his last concussion, is premature.

I really don't want to see this Texans team in the playoffs. When they're healthy, most especially Stroud, they're pretty nasty. They're going to be a force in a very interesting AFC South for the next 10 years if they keep this up.
