  1. Bills running game is interesting because, in a sense, it reminds me of Florida with Tebow and the Percy, Demps, Rainey and Moody. Tim handles the interior running game and functions as another de-factor running back (Allen) Cook functions as the perimeter runner given that his frame, 5'10, 190lbs, isn't holding up taking 18+ carries a game. He's averaging near 5ypc too.
  2. This game is a clown show. And the Bills are hip to the Archane scheme, he ain't running the rock between the C's. So they're just going to park on the edges and run him down.
  3. You're not a belligerent douchebag, I wouldn't do that sort of thing.
  4. Bell acquitted himself nicely today.
  5. DJ Chark fumbled going in at the 1 for a touchback. Otherwise it'd be 7-3 panthers. I know, I know. A REAL hoot nanny there.
  6. Giving Bell a pass/fail grade without any type of consistency from the QB spot is a rough go of things. Especially when he should be occupying that Z or off-ball receiver spot. He doesn't quite have the suddenness and strength to his game that would allow him to play a more "classic" X role like Tillman. And this front office clearly felt Moore was a priority by trading for him and immediately inserting him in the lineup. Not that I blame them for doing as much, but Moore gets snaps where Bell would be getting them. And, as I've said most of the season, using Moore on the outside, especially in the manner they have with him being tagged and/or converting those outside routes vertical, is just a misuse of his proper abilities. Bell is a smooth strider who needs space to get going, but when he has it he can read and leverage himself well. At least, that was his forte at Purdue. He always reminded me a good bit of Jabar Gaffney. That's the type of receiver, especially giving the salary crunch issues, you want on your team because of his quiet effectiveness. Moving on from him so early, especially with Moore's future in question because of his last concussion, is premature.
  7. I really don't want to see this Texans team in the playoffs. When they're healthy, most especially Stroud, they're pretty nasty. They're going to be a force in a very interesting AFC South for the next 10 years if they keep this up.
  8. Guys, guys, there's no need to pile it all on that fat nerd Ghoolie. It's rude and unbecoming.... ... Make sure to spread it around to Nickers who said he wanted Myles gone because he was a cancer.
  9. To answer my own question - Browns have the 3rd most fumbles per game. DC has two lost on 67 carries. Or 1 per 33.5 which would put him towards the league bottom. For comparison, Joe Mixon has almost 4 times the carries and zero fumbles. Yeah.... Hard pass. We have enough RBs that struggle holding onto the rock as is.
  10. Any late push should be Oline first. That having been said, Dalvin would be as close to plug n play as you'd get. He would have a great knowledge of the offensive structure, language, pass pro sets, etc etc. The downside would be building chemistry as a runner behind an Oline unfamiliar to him. Anyone know what his fumble rate is?
  11. Oh shit, an article? Well fuck me... my bad. Look man, you know as well as I do, most of what you read from the wanna-be sports media writing groups, Dawgs By Nature, Dawg Pound Daily, etc etc.... are watered down nonsense that lacks attention to detail. And sideline announcers are basically cramming homework during the week that way they at least have some understanding as to the games and personnel they have to announce for. Which means you're going to get cosmetic and, if you're lucky, maybe some depth to the commentary. Otherwise they just watch ESPN and take a couple notes. Would any of these sources say Larry Fitzgerald was "bad route runner"? HELL No... so why would we say the same of a WR who plays a similar position and style? Corey Coleman was a bad route runner. Antonio Callaway was a bad route runner. Anthony Schwartz was a non-existent level route runner. That ain't Ceddy. Just because we don't see significant separation like you would have with "smaller" receivers, doesn't mean he ain't getting it done.
  12. Something I want a contingent of Browns fans to keep in mind, before they think that Joe Flacco is a long(er) term answer for this team and that there is a QB controversy brewing in CLE. Because the clickbait, cookie cutter podcast, deadline having CLE sports media WILL be on that in the off-season, if they already aren't. Tua is in the MVP conversation. Brock Purdy *was* in the MVP conversation. Though most can agree he's a pretty damn solid signal caller and promising young player. Both, including Purdy at home, got their asses absolutely handed to them by the Ravens defense with healthy teams around them. Desean Watson, playing through a shoulder tear and a high ankle sprain, no Nick Chubb, and 40% of his starting Oline, lit up the Ravens IN THEIR HOUSE. A win that should be looked at as the turning point for the season and the platform the Browns launched from for this post-season push. We had a QB that was maligned, really starting to find his game within this offense, before injury took that away from him. Something, as 2023 fades out and 2024 is welcomed in, that needs to be kept in mind.
  13. I think you need to keep a few things in proper perspective. - Tillman is a mid round rookie on a team that has gone through 4 QB's now. - He only started getting meaningful targets the last 6-8 games, depending on how you view meaningful. - He has been playing a more classic 'X' receiver roll, not all that unlike DK Metcalf. However, unlike Metcalf, he isn't some physical freak of nature. But his style of game, contested catches in tight spaces and creating separation off physicality and contact, is in that same mold. You basically play your game away from him until you draw those 1 on 1's, force the issue, and make a defense double him. - To further that point, DK averages just under 5 catches per game is entire career and a notch over 1k per year. - We simply lack the consistent QB play to have made him a more effective player his first season. But also having a coaching staff who has slowly grown to the adjustment of better using his skill set, being that we've had a handful of receivers the last season who vary pretty significantly from Ceddy. Maybe save for DPJ, who was shipped off in favor of him. When you take into account he's a 4.6 runner who is a taller 6'3 type with longer strides and a much higher center of gravity which increases the need for hip sink and shoulder control, saying that Tillman "isn't a good route technician" just comes across as sloppy bubs. edit: To bullet point this. I don't think the raw talent of the WR room is the problem. It's health, experience and getting our QB situation settled.
  14. Just so happens the times he looks like it he plays the Packers and Jags defense. Then when he doesn't he plays the Saint defense. SHOCKED, I tell you. 2 INT's on the day.
  15. Watching the Tampa v NO game. Baker struggles, future in doubt. Lights up a few questionable teams. Baker is back and "on a team that uses his skill set" Plays a team with a pulse on defense in situations that involve clinching the playoffs or the division... Looks like dog shit early. Circle of Mayfield life. Saints +3 looking good so far.
  16. Running on fumes and heading into work on a day I wasn't even supposed to be there. Skipping like a school boy because the Brownies are headed to the playoffs!! I'm happy for all the fans, but most especially for our Englishmen, York. That dude has put down some good money for his HOU --> CLE trip and he's been rewarded with a couple great games, the last of which is a home game that sends us to the post season. I hope and trust he stayed well after zeroes hit to soak it all in with the rest of the home crowd. Great night, great win, happy for this team and for all of us.
  17. I'm positive the head coach is on the sidelines telling Njoku, Flacco and Strong to turn the ball over as much as possible.
  18. Flacco can't help himself. It's who he's been his whole career. Shocked at the amount of Browns fans who don't remember his play in Baltimore. His strength is letting it fly and playing loose. Also his weakness.
