Yes.  From Zach Harrison to Sawyer to JTT…these aren’t generational talent guys and may require some scheming up but the interior guys are very talented and have seemingly developed and ascended their recruiting statuses.  We apparently added two blue chip front four guys this recruiting cycle.

I had more expectations for a guy like Sonny Styles to be placed in spots and used as a big play guy - and I still think this happens soon.

I can’t honestly say our recruiting has suffered other than a few misses on the offensive line.

Good point, and I have my doubts on how long he remains in Columbus.

I also have doubts how long TTUN is this good, too.

If they can’t deny these allegations …at the very least the last three years should be erased…the coach should be let go and their should be some punitive damage for next season…scholarship losses and playoff ban.

having said that, I was impressed how well Michigan executed yesterday and How poorly we executed at times…and we had an interim coach out coach our guy….unacceptable.

The game yesterday pretty much played out how I expected.

Ohio State has to do better on both their lines, in recruiting and in training/preparation.

I don’t know if it is that easy.  Our HC did a Georgia Part 2 before the half…and is far too passive in these games. We couldn’t execute a simple game plan when we needed to- we’ve thrown wrinkles at them for decades and executed better.

  4. Looking back the past 27 games In many ways Kevin probably calls a better game when he doesn’t have his lead signal caller.  There are still hiccups along the way like the last offensive play call in the Seahawk game.  I/we expect having all the Jimmy and Joes available Kevin and staff would take advantage of talent discrepancies instead of flexing Harrison Bryant out and watching balls bounce off his mitts or 4th and 1 going deep play action to Anthony Schwartz.

He called an almost perfect game against the Steelers.  Right before the game I complained on here about his deep drops against the Steelers lack of balance with run/pass play calls, etc…almost forgetting their propensity to kill QBs. We couldn’t run so he incorporates a quasi run approach (short pass) that doesn’t expose our missing pieces on the line. Maybe a deep shot or two more each half to keep the safeties honest but other than that - THIS IS WHAT WE have folks.  It stinks but our QB is what he is  at this point - and the wins IF/when they come are gonna be ugly.

  5. 11-6 would make us a lock.  10-7 with some AFC wins makes it very likely.

The Game Sunday is huge.  We would have  Head to head against the Colts and Broncos…both teams have manageable schedules and can make a run.

The Bills schedule is TOUGH…I see 10-7 as a ceiling. If we tied with them their conference record is terrible they have 5 AFC loses already.

    Bengals are done.

Haven’t even mentioned the Steelers who could be in a free fall.

  6. Who do you all have?

Weather looks awful….Andy Reid is magic after a bye…the Under has been hitting left and right on MNF.

Naturally I’ll take the Iggles Money line and the over 45.5.

I like a little rush parlay too…gonna see some QBs running and both are good at it…

Mahomes over 25 and Hurts over 37.

Watching the offense in the 3rd quarter was infuriating, but I don't think you can put it all on Stefanski. There were plenty of 5 and 7 step drops that DTR took in the second half that were checked down to the flats. You don't drop that far back unless the first read is an intermediate/deep route. Stefanski had to keep the game plan simple for DTR just because of the heat that was expected from Watt and Highsmith. The damage was limited to 1 sack and 1 interception with how quick DTR was getting the ball out. I'll wait for the talking heads to break down the all-22 to see if that read was open. He also wasn't helped by the drops from Njoku and Moore.

43 pass attempts when Pittsburgh never had a lead is kind of nuts. I'm excited to see how DTR will do against a lesser defense. But looking at the rest of our schedule, I can see every game going down to the last possession.

Many of these “passes” were glorified run plays….designed to make the Steelers back 7 tackle on the perimeter and mitigate their hair on fire pass rush.  So although 43 by number seems like a lot it probably needs some context.

I would have liked a couple max protect lob it deep type passes just to keep the DBs honest and give the safeties something else to think about. I can’t complain too much they had a couple of elite pass rushers chasing our rookie qb.

  8. Stef has a hard time understanding this Steelers defense and we go into the game with the same f’ing tomfoolery.  You need balance run/pass in the second half and you can’t wait on long developing routes with relentless pressure they bring off the edges.  Stef has a propensity to panic especially with second half play calls.

and then fans come out of it with some illusion that are offensive line is lousy.

screen them the death, make their back 7 cover and tackle Njoku, qb designed runs…you all are smart…plays that keep edge rushers off balance.  If you want to go deep max protect.  And we need to play on the edge (dirty wise) like chipping Watt roughly.   I’m tired of these aholes playing the “Steeler way” and knocking guys out of the game.

Well, allegedly they offered a 6th for brisket. The other rumor is Washington wanted a third (which I don’t buy, who would give a 3rd for an expiring contract backup).

I’m sure they could have packaged DPJ and a 5th or something.

Oh well, my guess is we get stuck with a Cam Newton type.

Washington hates us.  The guy signed a one year deal and they are out of it and will give the young guy all the snaps anyway. And they would save 4M.

  10. Almost 12 hours I don’t feel any better….another 24 hours I might get out of denial and start to optimistically assess.  DTR can’t be this bad…not a lot film on him at this level and he had 50 starts at UCLA…Stef is in the lab watching Chip Kelly offenses.  We got a defense, run game and special teams.

Let me be bipolar for a second…How about Tom Brady becomes the GOAT of All GOATs of everything and plays a slightly better version of Trent Dilfer and leads the way to a SB victory?

  11. Plain and Simple…We need to start fast Sunday.   This makes Kenny Pickett a passer and increases the likelihood that Kevin runs the ball and doesn’t get this idea that slow developing downfield plays is the answer against their bookends considering the state of our bookend tackles.

If Kevin can call a better game and Deshaun can play a better game than what we witnessed in Week 2…we should win and barring a catastrophic collapse a win here should seal playoff football.

I think my favorite thing about this entire story is TSUN playing the martyrs in a situation completely of their own doing.

    Hilarious.

I’m listening to Desmond Howard on “Get Up” this morning.  I cut him some slack for what I thought was an emotional reaction last Friday…he’s doubled and now tripled down on nonsensical homerish crap.  When are they going to deny that the impermissible scheme occurred?  I was certain that was going to happen and buy them time.  There is no way out of this unless they prove the scheme never occurred.

Stefanski leaves a lot to be desired with his play-calling, and I am still convinced he must be stripped of his duties. Nothing has changed. There were many examples even today. The biggest one was with 7 seconds left before halftime; he had them line up for a field goal and then called a timeout and put PJ Walker in to throw a Hail Mary. WHY? Hopkins made a 58-yarder recently. Kick the damn field goal. What was he worried about? Did he think if there was a miss, the Ravens would score a TD in the two or three seconds left with their own Hail Mary?

The bottom line is that we won today the same way we have all year. Our defense refused to lose the game.

I guess some people here have already forgotten the COVID game where we lit up the scoreboard while Stefanski was at home sitting in his Lazy Boy.

We overcame bad luck, bad bounces, injuries and the refs…I’m definitely not a Stef fanboy but he deserves a lot of credit.  That was a type of game where EVERY Browns team post 1999 would have lost.

Having said that…PJ Walker running around throwing 8 yards short of the end zone has more risk than payoff.
Sure a kick 6 would be possible…more likely see a blocked kick return- Part 2 from the Ravens…but I am not for any decision where PJ Walker handles a football for an extended period of time.   Minor brain fart…I’m sure others may disagree so who knows
