  1. Yeah you got your wish, be prepard for a step back. Who wants to come here to be GM or coach when you get the axe after a year or two. This team is probably a good HC away from being a playoff team. But now you bring in a new GM who wants his guys. They always want THEIR guys. Players brought in by Dorsey. Landry Ward OBJ Randall Greedy Chubb Wilson Baker Vernon Hunt Richardson Thats a pretty good group of folks in just 2 years. No GM since the Browns cames back in '99 has brought in as much talent. Yes, the Austin Corbett pick was a bust, so what. You bring in the talent above you get to have a mulligan every once in a while. And guess what else this means, we might lose Wolf and Highsmith who are pretty good guys in their own right. This move reeks of stupidity and incompetence. I have no problem canning a GM, I was for Sashi, Farmer and others getting shown the door because they were incompetent at their job. Dorsey is not incompetent. The Haslams want instant gratification and results or they blow crap up. That can't be they way you run your organization. If the Haslams really believe the team is close, then change the HC and keep everything else in place. Best option here is just sell the team to someone who can better run things, I don't doubt the Haslams desires to win, I doubt their mental competence to do so.
  2. Yeah I was one of those guys who wanted Bradley Chubb too, I saw him play a lot at NCSU I knew he was good. But if memory serves the Gregg Williams wanted a press corner and that what the GM gave him. The GMs job is give the coaches the type of players they want. I am not going to ding Dorsey for that pick. Corbett turned out to be a bad pick, it is what it is. Every GM picking today has f'd up at some point. And as far as the trade goes, its obvious they thought Corbett could fill that position. he didn't, the end result is keeping Zeitler wouldn't have changed the outcome to the season, from my perspective better coaching would overcome that.
  3. So this is the problem with your logic. You have the devil you do know versus the devil you don't. Given Jimmys track record on hiring GMs Dorsey is the best by far and its not even close. The problem isn't the GM. This is one of the side effects of running through coaches all time, people want to dump the GM etc. Dorsey built the the team in KC and improved the talent on this team too. Maybe you would rather go back to Lombardi or Farmer or Sashi?
  4. The last few games of the season I was hoping the team would play better that Freddie would should improvement and he didn't and neither did the team. Especially after Garrett got suspended the offense should have been even more centered around Chubb to control the game and help the defense. Too many times we just came out firing, passing too much. And look if the passing was working no one would be complaining but it was helter skelter all year and was at its best when we had balance of the running game. It was just the same mistake over and over as far a managing the game goes. And the more I watched the last few games, the more I began to feel Freddie had to go. Given how the season played out my first choice would be Rivera. He would bring discipline and stability. He will also focus on the run game. And no to Josh McDaniels, I have already seen that idiots name pop up. That guy is a dick and I don't want that guy even considered.
  5. This is a crazy statement. Dorsey has done more for this team than any GM we have had in recent memory and no GM hits on every pick.
  6. That all may be true, it seems to me the game plan Sunday given we are down 4 starters on defense including your best player would be to be run heavy, focused on Chubb and Hunt and then open up the passing game later. Manage the game on the ground to give as much help to your defense as you can. We didn't do that. You have to weigh the impact of firing a guy after one season versus giving them a fair shot. I think Freddie is a big enough guy when he looks back to see where he f'd up. Whether he can improve on that and maybe fight his natural impulses I don't know. If do do dump Freddie this year, go after Rivera, he will bring the discipline sorely needed.
  7. Here are my two cents for what it worth. I am not in favor of axing Freddie..........yet. Will see how the last couple games play out. I have been underwhelmed by Steve Wilks for one. The D is gone to hell since Garret and Vernon have been out and the run D yesterday was atrocious. Problems I have seen with Freddie this year include discipline, time management, overly aggressive, gets too pass happy. Some of this has been improved to varying degrees over the course of the season. Somethings you would think would be self evident like, lets not hurry up and run a plays at the end of the half so Russel Wilson can then get the ball and have time to score. Stuff like that was just stupid. Also I say get rid of Lindley, I don't think he is doing anything to help Baker be a better QB. Lets get someone who is experienced brought in to help Baker out. I want Baker to have that moxy to go deep, but also the have the good sense to know when you can take the shorter play when its open that still gets you the first down. Baker went from one of the best in the red zone last year to one of the worst this year. To me a lot of that comes down to coaching. So I would axe Wilks and Lindley for sure, maybe the DL coach too and keep the rest with everyone on notice. Lets see if Freddie can learn from year one and make jump just like we always talk about players making a jump in year two.

I have never defended Garretts actions, ever. There is no place for that in football. What I am doing is pointing out the mass hysteria and inconsistencies. You leave Rudolph blameless, anyone with two eyes can see this is not the case. This doesn't mean he deserved to get hit in the head but it doesn't make him without fault as he sparked this. With regards to the tackle, Garrett actually twisted his body so Rudolph landed on top of him instead of him driving Rudolph into the ground. Again, watching the clip this is abundantly clear. And if you are a QB or not your value to your team far exceeds all other positions you don't reengage in a fight ever. It doesn't make you pussy if you don't, it makes you smart. The purpose of showing the clip from a few years ago was two fold. First, it was to show this has happened before as everyone seemed to say its never happened before. Second, its to show that the punishment received in that incident pales in consideration to what Myles got. There needs to be consistency for the same act. The act is the same, using a helmet as a weapon. Finally, and most importantly, you act like you and the Steelers are holier than thou when for decades the Steelers have engaged in thuggish/criminal hits on the field and praised themselves for it. Celebrated over their victims and whined when they got fined about it. Then want to lecture folks about an egregious play, its rich, hypocritical and you will find no sympathy from me on that front. I am glad Rudolph is not hurt, I don't won't to see anyone hurt, I can't say that about Steelers players or fans I have witnessed over the years.

I guess he learned that crap from JuJu

So are we punishing based on outcome or based on the act? If we are punishing based on outcome, Rudolph is fine, didn't even need to go into concussion protocol, so his suspension should be similar. If we are doing it based on the act, then again same act got 1 regular season game.

Given the way Rudolph played last night maybe letting him continue to play is a penalty to the Steelers unto itself. And yes DeCastro gets kudos for being the only one in that immediate area with a level head.

In case anyone hasn't seen this. This has actually happened before 6 years. Antonio Smith got a 3 game suspension which was 2 preseason games and one regular season game. A far cry from what Myles got.

What Garrett did is inexcusable and should not be tolerated ever. And if he gets suspended for a full 16 games there isn't much argument against. That being said calling Browns fans dirt bags from a supporter of a team historically full of dirt bag cheap shot players is quite frankly laughable. When the Steelers tear some ones ACL or break their jaw, well they are just playing good hard football. When Rudolph gets a bump on the head, worst thing thats ever happened.
  14. Rudolph probably should have gotten 1 game for starting this whole thing. I think when it comes to Garretts suspension it should be noted that Garrett hit Rudolph so hard, he didn't even need to go to the blue tent. So I think it may looks worse than it was, but there is still no place in the NFL for using a helmet that way, none. I don't think he will get his suspension reduced but I think he has probably been overly disciplined due to the optics.
  15. Not consistently, first drive can't complain about the results. Then a bunch of nothing while heavy pass, then we hit a big pass play that led to second TD. I think Freddie falls in love with the big pass play at times too much, when you got one of the best backs in the league, use him to soften the D up.
  16. Yeah in the second half they seemed to be like we are going to be much more run heavy so first few series did more run, just mix it up better, I don't mind running several plays in a row if you are moving the chains. Just try to get more balance I think we be my main critique. Some drives were too run heavy, some were overly pass heavy.
  17. I would say the only real issue I had with the game and play calling is we were a little too pass happy in the first half, I would have liked to seen more touches with Chubb but overall was solid game plan.

Thats true they can appeal, but I don't see Myles getting much leniency during an appeal. I can see Ogunjobi having his suspension removed though what he did isn't suspension worthy.

Ogunjobi should be fined, I don't think shoving Rudolph to the ground is suspension worthy.

Suspensions are in, Myles gone for the year.

This post is laughable. Do we need to post clips of Harrison launching himself with the crown of helmet to Colt McCoys chin or Mohammed Masaqua will running at full speed? Far worse outcomes then what happened to Rudolph. And if the Steelers weren't trying to score they should have just ran the ball or took a knee.

I have no clue how many games Garrett may miss so I won't hazard a guess other than to say I am confident it will be multiple games. He did swing or punch walker but Simeon foul I think was not for a late hit but for driving the QB into the ground and it was Siemens foot that got caught under him it was nothing malicious. And not matter what you think, Mason did try to pull Garretts helmet off, Garrett just wouldn't go bonkers for no reason. That doesn't excuse what he did, it was stupid and uncalled for no matter what anyone did. But Rudolph is far from blameless.
  23. I don't know what the hell Garrett was doing there, look I understand you may not have liked him ripping your helmet but you don't hit a guy with helmet like that, thats crazy.
  24. Browns have to be able to run the ball to win the game. I think they can from what I have seen in some previous Pittsburgh games. If they aren't able to run the ball Baker is going to be under seige.
