  1. I didn't expect a win tonight, I am actually surprised it was this close to be honest given all the injuries. Outside of 2 real play calls, the 4th down draw and not attempting at least run inside the 5 I think the play calling was fine and I think they looked better, lot more chubb, lot more balance. Baker didn't have a lot of time, we win next week, we are in first place.
  2. Well he played Miami and Arizona the first couple weeks, everyone had good stats against them.
  3. I agree with this, I think we were too pass happy in the second half of the game Monday. More Chubb to setup the play action. I love that Baker is looking to take deep shots but he seems more intent on doing this so far instead of hitting whats available. We have seen him hold the ball too long while shorter routes were open and he has missed some throws last year he hit with regularity. I think more focus on the run game makes everything else better, we try to get in a shoot out Sunday Night we will lose.
  4. I am not worried about his ability to make plays outside of the pocket or even adjusting inside of the pocket. But the pressure we gave up in the preseason in Tampa we cannot do, that type of pressure is what I would be concerned about.
  5. I think its imperative the Browns win this game to set the tone for the season. Expect to win, but don't expect the opponent to roll over. The Titans are a very physical team, so I think its good Freddie tried to build in toughness this whole training camp. My biggest concern is our OL versus their D-Line, I think every place else we place else I am confident we can play well enough to minimize any advantage they may have. If we can keep Baker upright in a fairly clean pocket most of the game we should win this game, if we don't could be big trouble.
  6. Add Willie Wright G to the practice squad
  7. Looks like we signed TE Stephen Carlson to the practice squad.
  8. The only curious thing to me is how Ratley is still on this team. I think I would have taken, Willies, or Miller, or Strong over him.
  9. I just found this whole thing shocking, when I first saw this last night I thought it was a joke or a mistake. Luck was a good dude, it will be interesting to see if his body gets healed up if the football itch returns and decides to unretire.
  10. I think Hilliard will be fine as a receiver, there probably won't be that much of a drop off, but his running seemed to lacking, definitely not as physical as Duke.
  11. Giants pick was horrible, Gettlemen is a moron. The Steelers pick, I understand it, but to me to wreaks of desperation that they know the Browns are coming. The Steelers NEVER trade up in the first round.
  12. My biggest concern is making sure everyone gets fed to keep them happy. Now, the great thing about Baker is he distributes the ball well and doesn't zero in on targets, you get open, you get the ball. So I don't think that should be a problem. OBJ I believe felt like they didn't throw the ball down the field enough, too much underneath, and given his talent as a deep threat I understand that, of course he probably could have communicated those concerns in a different way. Again, Baker seems to always look for the deep shot, or at least does so a lot of the time, so I don't think that will be an issue here. The benefits of OBJ in my opinion out weigh any risk. He will come ready to play from day one in my opinion. If not just to prove the Giants wrong for trading him.
  13. I think thats overstating Perriman. OBJ will demand double teams, he will make things easier for the other WRs and the RBs. Perriman, would not do that. I liked what he did with us, but these two WRs aren't comparable.
  14. Man is this even possible? https://twitter.com/JasonLaCanfora/status/110564386298126745
  15. Not true, I am watching NFL Access too and its more speculating that he will want his contract updated. So he hasn't asked for anything yet, he was over seas when the trade occurred.
  16. The Browns have no excuse now. The offense is loaded, in fact we are probably heavy at WR now with this move. The move not only improves the offense but the defense too. The offense should be scoring lots of point forcing teams to have to play catch up and in more predictable play calling, which will help the defense. Everyone stay healthy and ready to ball this year!!
  17. I think nothing happens until 2020. If Kareem stays clean and we resign to multi-year deal, then Duke probably gets shipped out in 2020. If Kareem screws up we still have Duke. So I wouldn't expect anything to happen with the RBs until 2020 outside of Hilliard being released once Hunt is eligible.
  18. Will be curious to see how long suspension he gets and how he is used, but can you imagine giving Chubb a rest for series or two and get Kareem Hunt coming in.
  19. Carson Palmer seems to think Josh Allen will be a better QB than Baker Mayfield so not so sure I want that guy. I wouldn't mind seeing Jack Del Rio as D coordinator, or Vance Joseph, maybe even Steve Wilks.
  20. I never had the pleasure to meet Stan, I sorry to hear this news. From the sounds of things he was great man, father and friend. And thankful he created this forum to give us place to talk, debate our Browns and meet other fans from all over. RIP Stan.
  21. I saw Lamar Jackson play alot in college, and yes he is a great runner, yes, he is a great athlete, however, he isn't a great QB, I think the Ravens drafted him for ticket sales versus ability. After all the Ravens valued him so much they drafted Hayden Hurst just 7 picks ahead of him. So 32 teams basically didn't grade him that high. I watch him play, he has problems under pressure, he has accuracy issues I am glad the Ravens because he has bust written all over him. He could prove me wrong, but I doubt it.
  22. I don't think the the comparison is lazy at all. Jackson is the superior athlete for sure, but he is a dual threat QB of similar stature. RG3 was the better passed, Jackson the better runner. I saw enough of Jackson in the ACC, he has issues, accuracy being one of them. Handling pressure in the pocket is the other. And listening to him speak makes me serious question his mental makeup play QB at an elite level in the NFL. I don't care that much about his wonderlic score as there are many examples of very good QBs who did not score great on that test. The Cam Newton comparison BTW is not equal. Cam is about 50 pound heavier and knows how to get down. Cam does exhibit similar accuracy issues tho.
  23. The Ravens made worst picks then we did. The picked a middle aged TE who they valued more than Lamar Jackson. Then traded some picks away to move up to grab Lamar. He is a premier athlete playing QB, not a QB who is a premier athlete.
