  1. Also they actually did start their starters and then sat the offensive guys at half time. The majority of the defensive players played pretty much the whole game.
  2. Edit I see now the answer to number 8 is Brown.
  3. The Browns didn't technically release him. He had agreed in principle to a deal and was set to sign on March 13th, but OBJ trade was completed about 4 hours after the deal was agreed to. Rosenhaus requested that his client be able to back out of the verbal agreement and Dorsey agreed (eventually).
  4. He and the team had agreed in principle to the terms of a contract. He hadn't signed anything yet because I don't think technically players could sign contracts yet. Then the Browns trade for OBJ and Perriman asked if it was too late to back out. Some quotes from an article regarding both parties agreeing to back out of a verbal statement. "Browns general manager John Dorsey and Perriman's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, have both agreed to void a verbal agreement between Cleveland and Perriman for a one-year, $4 million deal." "Earlier in the evening, Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com relayed that Perriman wanted out of his one-year, $4 million deal with the team because of its trade for Beckham. Perriman had agreed to a new contract with Cleveland "just hours before" Dorsey turned his attention toward finalizing the blockbuster trade." "It seems to be in the best interest of both parties. While just $4 million, they could use that money to bolster Beckham's deal."
  5. No trent Williams has not played yet for the v Redskins this preseason
  6. That was a strip down to the studs to acquire draft capital and rebuild. They were intentionally trying to not win games. The players weren't the front office was.
  7. Sucks for Lamar Miller. He is a good dude. Good news for the Browns though. They will definitely be getting a third round pick back in the trade now as long as Duke stays healthy. He may not only play in 16 games but start in 16 games. Kinda wish Browns still had Duke out there dangling right now. They could have held him ransom and got a 2nd rounder with no stipulation what so ever from the Texans now.
  8. He did get a couple plays with the ones. I envision that on 3rd and long obvious pass situations him and Vernon will line up on the ends Garrett will slide inside and ogunjobi and Richardson will split time as the other rush dt with ogunjobi getting more run in those situations. Sort of like what Ohio State would do with Bosa and Hubbard. Just get the 4 best pure pass rushers in on obvious passing downs. Garrett has rushed from the inside on obvious passing before and the guards have an extremely tough time with his burst. Or you could see ogunjobi as the only one with his hand in the dirt and Vernon Avery and Garrett all standing up moving before the snap making it hard to identify who to block.
  9. They will not go crazy trying to obtain either of the two. Obviously they'll miss luck but I don't think they will trade for any qbs. They will happily (as happily as possible for losing a franchise qb) go into the season with brissett as the starter and Chad Kelly as the backup
  10. Well there were a couple people here last week saying brissett deserved to compete for a starting job somewhere and was one of the three best backups in the league so he will get his chance to shine.
  11. Was just coming to post. That's crazy
  12. DSG had the one great return for a td. He almost dropped the punt and it's not that he made anyone miss on it either. It was perfectly blocked for him to run straight up field for 20 yards then veer to the sideline. D'Ernest Johnson has shown very good patience vision and elusiveness as well as a good quick burst. We should have 3 rbs on the 53 man with hunt out the first 8 weeks that leaves Chubb Johnson and Hilliard. I realize you may not be advocating for keeping DSG strictly over D'Ernest, but Johnson can do so much more for this team in the offense and can provide just about as big of a spark in the return game also. Kick returns and punt returns have really diminished in importance in the last couple years due to new kickoff rules and punters getting better at hang time and directional kicking. It just doesn't make sense for a team that should be a playoff contender to use a spot on a feel good story return specialist if he can't contribute elsewhere. He played 3 snaps in the "dress rehearsal" game. Would you believe the past two years we were 3rd both years in average yards per punt return? I know you were around on the board so you are well aware a lot of people hated our special teams performance and coach. They also hated jabrill peppers and he could actually contribute in another phase of the game (last year at least not giving too much credit woody lol). Again his story and determination is great but that isn't a reason to find a reason to keep a guy.
  13. I didn't see a night and day difference at all. D'Ernest made quick cuts when returning punts and got up field in a hurry. He had a 15 and 16 yard punt return negated by penalties that didn't help him to get the yards he got, and had another 16 yard punt return that stood. He got 28 yards on his one kick return. I love the DSG story as much as the next guy but his talent isnt a "find a way to keep him" talent. Any of the Browns teams of the last 10 years, yeah you keep him on the team as a fan favorite because of his story. There wasn't near the talent on those rosters. As great as the 1-4 are in the wide receiver room all have missed time due to injuries or off the field issues. I want the 5th and 6th wide receivers to be able to produce on offense not just a specialist.
  14. I wasnt questioning your fandom. Just opined and quoted you because you were talking about Braxton.
  15. Chatango is what was used previously and it logged a lot of people out and would boot you for saying "hahaha"
  16. Siebert drilling his kicks tonight. Maybe just knowing he was kicking all night gave him the confidence. This is what he looked like at OU.
  17. Braxton gets shoe string tackled more than just about anyone I've seen. That's not just because of the two shoe string tackles on his two catches but going back to all his games at Ohio State. Don't know if he doesn't pick up his feet or what. Great college catch by Dorian Baker. Gotta drag that other toe kid but good effort.
  18. If they aren't going to overturn that pass interference on mack or, even more ridiculous, the one in the Bengals v Redskins game where they legitimately called it on the wrong team then there is no point in making p.i. a reviewable play.
  19. Definitely can't play db. He is not a bad guy to have on the end of your 53 man roster with his versatility on the offensive side of the ball. He can be your backup slot receiver, your punt/kick returner, your emergency qb, and an emergency 3rd down receiving back. Right now he is a very poor mans antawn Randle el. Although he may turn into that type of player if he can stay healthy and on a roster.
  20. Says the kettle. It is significantly easier (more civil) to discuss a differing opinion with tour than it is yourself.
  21. I hadn't thought of that and it is a good way to prepare for him but is he good enough to keep as one of the 6 best wide receivers to warrant that role. I think it seals that damon sheehy Giuseppe will be a practice squad player or on some other teams 53 as Braxton is a better receiver and has almost as much potential in the return game. I put more emphasis on receiving abilities because kick/punt returns are becoming more and more obsolete with new kickoff rules and punters getting better and better at hang time and directional punting.
  22. The Browns have signed Braxton Miller after he was released by the eagles. I believe he is a long shot to make the team, but it makes the wide receiver room even deeper.
  23. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10157762028404684&id=87392379683 Obi with the mic on so camera is following him around for this building the browns episode. (He has to use the restroom before practice.) Best thing I've seen of him with pads. Definitely looks to be trimmed up.
  24. He intentionally screwed it up. He didn't want to do it but hue had Haslam's ear and he basically told he had to do it. The only way for the deal not to happen was to "accidentally" fill out the paperwork incorrectly. Paperwork that had been filled out correctly many times before under sashi brown.
