...but is he thinking that the situation in Cleveland just got better because Baker will be out of the picture?   That's the root of my thought...

Yeah...that dumbass, Baker is responsible for everything wrong here. Let's blame him for the move to Baltimore, the Drive the Fumble, Hell...I'll bet he's the one who made Lebron leave twice.

  2. It doesn't bother me that they were looking to upgrade the position. What bothers me, is that they were ready to give up 3 first round draft choices, and some key players for this guy, who at the very least, is a lowlife sexual predator. I've never considered him as a top 5 qb. It's also disturbing that they kept telling us that Mayfield is the starting qb for 2022, knowing that they were searching for a way to replace him. Personally, I hope he ends up in Indy or somewhere, and sets the league on fire. Another display of just how dysfunctional this team really is. For all you Baker haters...screw you!...lets see how close you get to the playoffs without him.

It's going to be extremely hard to remain a Browns fan. Even if they don't sign the POS Watson it's the sneaky underhanded lying front office that disgusts me. I've never been a fan of Jimmy Haslam but I'm even more disappointed by stefanski. F*** them all.

    WSS

This is where I'm at.....screw Berry, Haslam, and the rest of these morons. I really liked Stephanski. Yes...Mayfield has been immature at times, but WTF?....he's 25 years old. If these geniuses think the answer is to trade away 3 first round picks for a guy who hasn't played in a year, and has the problems he has, then so be it. Good luck!.....let me know when Haslam sells the team. Doing crap like this insures that the Cleveland Browns are, and will continue to be the laughing stock of the NFL. I miss Art Modell.

  4. I don't get how anyone could seriously compare Baker to Manziel. Baker showed me more talent in his first series against the Jets, in his first game, than Manziel ever showed. I know it's fashionable to bash Mayfield around here, but I'm not sure why. Baker played bad the last half of the 2021 season...maybe due to injury, or maybe due to a confidence problem. He's gotten the blame for everything wrong with the Browns. His season was very similar to the season Lamar Jackson had. Yet a lot of people still consider Jackson an elite qb. Why does he get a free pass ? I'm a Browns fan...not necessarily any loyalty to any one player. But, I think Baker still has the talent, the potential, and the arm to win a Superbowl here. I'm hoping the injuries were fully responsible for the way he played this past season. If it is a loss of confidence, we may as well cut him right now. It wouldn't be the first time this team has ruined the future of a decent qb.

Nah, we don't want the reigning coach of the year.  Let's get Hue Jackson back.  Or one of the other idiots we've had this century.  Jeezuz, Joseph and Mary!!

Don't put words in my mouth. I said I like Stefanski, and he's a good coach, and I'm not ready to run him out of town...BUT...I've seen the exact same scenario play out in too many games to think that Mayfield just starts playing like crap after halftime, and the opponent makes adjustments. The bottom line is, you can't get a comfortable lead, and then go into a shell. We have to continue to be aggressive on offense.

  6. After watching the exact same scenario play out numerous times this season, it's time to rethink the Browns situation. We've watched the same crap over and over this season. We get a substantial lead, with the offense working well, then in the 2nd half, the game plan changes to ultra conservative. This is not good coaching. I really like Stefanski, but he is an exact copy of Zimmer...the HC in Minnesota, who he worked under for years. I don't believe we can ever progress with this type of philosophy. I'm done blaming Mayfield, the defense, injuries, etc. This is a poorly designed offense and that needs to change.  The conservative play calling results in quick 3 and outs, which then forces the defense to get back on the field too soon. Then the opponent has the opportunity to come back. No...I'm not saying we should look for a new HC...I'm saying Stefanski needs to change his methods, or we will continue with the same results.

  7. There's a double standard here, and it's fueled by the media. I guess Mayfield's attitude just rubs people the wrong way. Looking at the stats, and comparing him to Lamar Jackson proves this. Mayfield has had 4 games with a qb rating over 100, Jackson has 1. Mayfield's qb rating for the season is higher than Jackson's and has been that way all season. Yet, these dumb ass commentators and so called experts still consider lamar Jackson "elite". I don't see it. He's an exceptional running back who is very elusive and can out run the defense. He's really not a very good qb. Baker isn't stupid...he knows he's being tagged unfairly as a mediocre qb. He has a fragile ego, and he's starting to believe this crap himself. I just hope he can find his way back to playing at the level he's capable of.

We won a tough, ugly game, and our quarterback gutted it out, because it's his job.

If you're not with him when he's suffering, don't be jumping back on his bandwagon when he catches fire like he did last year.

I'm so impressed with him gutting out that win, that I'd re-sign him this week and tell the the media and the fickle fans to go fuck themselves.

    Thanks...I needed that....

They've beat a total of one team with a winning record. And they barely squeaked by a Lions team with their back up QB (and he was as bad as any QB I've seen play in the NFL, perhaps ever).

    KC - lost

    Texans - losing team, horrid.

    Bears - losing

    MIN - losing

    LAC - loss

    AZ - loss, blow out

    Denver - losing

    Pitt - LOSS

Cinci - only win vs. a winning team, and they have folded since, losing almost every game

    Pats - ass whooping

Lions - winless with back up QB

Just who, on earth, do you expect them to beat if they make the playoffs? And right now, their last 6 games are vs. teams with winning records, by the way.

I definitely expect them to beat the Ratbirds the next 2 games. They are by far, the most overrated, luckiest team to ever play a game.

  10. From what I've seen of Keenum, I'm definitely in no rush to see him take over as qb, but...Mayfield is hurting himself right now, by trying to be a hero. Obviously, his injuries are affecting his play. He's not only prolonging his recovery, but he's also hurting the team, and possibly damaging his mental state and confidence. I would have no problem with Keenum taking over, and what ever happens, happens. I don't believe Mayfield is playing like crap just because he's a bad qb. I, personally, think he's a very good qb when healthy. Before the shoulder thing, he was one of the most accurate deep ball throwers. Now....well...I don't have to tell you, if you've been watching. It's pretty pathetic. I would much rather he just sit there and get better than embarrass himself every game.

  11. I've been saying since 2018 that Baker is a franchise qb...mainly because there are times that he looks like one. But...I'm starting to realize that maybe he is just an average qb with a strong arm. Then, again....I keep thinking that he maybe has a very fragile ego, and when things are not going ideal for him, he tends to lose his confidence and play bad. Then again....maybe it is the injuries. There's definitely something going on. I would just keep him and not move on a big contract until next season. Then you risk losing him, I guess. It just kind of makes me want to puke....watching all these other young qb's looking like hall of famers. I'm not talking about Lamar Jackson. As I stated in a previous  post....he's a true system player. A great running back who has a weak arm, and his leg speed will betray him quickly. I'll still take Mayfield over Jackson any day.

  12. If you check, Baker's current qr is well above LJ's. Like the other guy said...he's a great running back. That will  be slowing down soon. In fact, I think it already has. I was not a big Baker fan when we drafted him, but at this point, I wouldn't even consider trading him for Jackson. MVP?...that was 3 years ago.

You're just another typical Clevelander who actually thinks the Stains are good, and they just get ripped off all the time.  Let's blame everyone else for their losses and ignore the fact that the just suck.  But then again, there might be some substance with dumbass Cleveland fans thinking that the NFL hates them...everybody hates them, and their delirious fanbase.   Might wanna watch all your anti-NFL talk and all the crying you guys like to do on this board...before another city snatches up your sucky ass team and turns them into Superbowl winners too.

Dumb ass Ratbirds fan....how did the running back look last night?.....even with the refs not calling the defensive holding and pass int. you losers committed against Miami, you still couldn't help but lose to a 2 - 7 team. MVP?....dynamic player?....elite qb?..nope. Just another one dimensional player, who can't throw a football 20 yards accurately.

That shoulder isn't going to be anywhere close to 100% until its surgically repaired.  As I've posted, that's around a 12 week process.  MHO though is it can't hurt to give him an extra week off against the Steelers. Then it's all hands on deck for a game against the  first place Bengals in Cinci.

Well, Mahomes stunk against the  Titans. I doubt the KC fans are going to be screaming for  Chad Henne to start next week. LOL, Derrick Henry  had more TD passes than Mahomes in that game.  The difference between Baker and Pat is consistency.  Mayfield proved he still can uncork 65 yard passes with a bum shoulder,  but I'm of the opinion that shoulder is affecting his play, whether he admits it or not. His accuracy has definitely taken a hit.

Baker may never be up to the level of Mahomes or Allen, but on his best days, he's plenty good enough. Sort of like Eli will never be considered as good as  Peyton. I'll happily take a couple  Super Bowl wins. :)

He doesn't have the elite arm of an Allen or even a Lamar Jackson.  However, the Ravens got the snot beat out of them by a Bengals team led by Joe Burrow- who's arm isn't any stronger than Baker's. Mayfield has yet to prove when we're down a score with 2 minutes left he can lead a game winning drive.

I agree with everything you said with one exception. I don't believe Lamar Jackson's arm is anywhere near as strong as Baker's. Josh Allen...that's a different story.

  15. Baker had one bad game this season, and the national media, the local media, and a lot of the fans have decided that he is an average qb. Why doesn't it work that way for Mahomes or Jackson? They play like crap, and the blame is shifted to the o line, dropped passes, or anything else. Right now, as of today, Mayfield's qb rating is 97.8. Lamar Jackson is 97.7, and Mahomes is 97.9. You would think Mayfield would be light years behind those 2, just because of the way the media acts. I've decided not to give up on Baker yet. We tend to forget some of the amazing passes he's thrown, not just this season, but over the past 4 seasons. I believe he is the franchise qb. I also believe he has the potential to be the long term answer for us. The problem is, I also believe he has a fragile ego. He listens to his critics and gets stressed, which affects his performance. The shoulder injury doesn't help. While I would like to see him get back in there and play, I have a feeling he's done for the season. If that's the case, we are all done for the season. I like Case Keenum as a back up, for a game or 2, but he's not Baker...not by a long shot.

  16. As a Trump supporter, of course I believe the election was "rigged" but...I'm with the o.p. on this. It's time to let it go. I think we have to begin to accept the fact that many of the recent elections were also stolen. I'm convinced that the republicans stole the election with G.W. over Gore, with all the crap that went on with that election. For me, it's not about Democrat vs. Republican. I hate the radicals on either side. I would never declare myself to either party. This is all about freedom and democracy vs. socialism. There are some heated discussions going on here, and everyone is entitled to their opinion. The thing is, not everyone wants the same America. While I hate to see this country being changed with all the different foreigners claiming rights to a land that was built over the last 200+ years with hard work and patriotism, others embrace the changes. It's probably my generation who is at fault here. We saw it coming, but ignored it. We were too busy dropping acid, smoking weed, and experiencing the '60's and '70's to organize a revolution. We've let Uncle Sam become the King...the Ruler... All that garbage about voting and patriotism was valid back then. There is no reason to vote any more. "They" are going to elect whoever is best for the government....not the people. It's a shame...our grand kids and their kids will never know what a great country this once was.

NOBODY wanted to play for the Browns.  Nobody wanted to be associated with the Browns.  We NEVER had the right mix of ownership, GM, coaches and QB.  Why would you want to come here?  Pretty much, you came here if you had no choice.  We were the epitome of disfunction.  I can't see why anyone could blame the players, coaches, GM's, etc. who avoided us or just plain ran away screaming (Shannahan).

Does anyone really want to be associated with a laughing stock?  Did Archie Manning really want to be a Saint his whole career?   For the answer, look at what he did for his son Eli.

Nope....not buying into this. Shanahan knew what he was getting in to. He obviously couldn't accept the g.m. or the owner's restrictions. Josh Cribbs wanted to play for the Browns...as did many others. Dysfunctional?....we definitely took it to a new level. I definitely blame the players and coaches who just accepted the fact that the team sucked and went with it, just to get paid. Obviously they didn't care enough to request a trade, or play better to help the situation.

Losing begets losing, and winning does the same. The hard part is transitioning between the two, and right square in the middle of that transition period is the 'culture change' that every new regime talked about during their introductory press conference...... easily said, but oh so hard to do.

The players are humans too and if I played for the Browns during that 4-44 stretch, I certainly wouldn't have been proud, and in fact, I would've been embarrassed as hell. Nothing wrong with DQ admitting as much.

I think there's plenty wrong with going through the motions while being paid millions to do it. The players are human, yes....but they should have enough loyalty to their employer to at least represent the team with pride. If my employer is paying me that kind of money, I'm wearing the team name/logo with pride. By the way....he was gone by 2013, so he didn't experience anything like 4 - 44.
