I've thought about getting a revolver one of these days, as a back up in case my walther jams (semi auto). But even though "it will never happen"...

a shootout vs two shooters in a store...six shots is risky, and I can't imagine trying to quickly reload. I can drop a mag and add the new one really quickly. That's about 20 shots.

I really want to start studying krav maga this summer.

Been wondering how much my little .22lr pistol would do in an assault situation - one antifa with a baseball bat, maybe I could shoot the bat out of his hands... depending on the distance, if I only had sweatpants and a tshirt out walking somewhere.

A .22lr pistol is a nice little target pistol. I also have one. But don't rely on it to stop anything serious.

  2. My favorite hand guns are Smith & Wesson revolvers. I carry an Air weight, titanium frame 44 magnum with a 2" barrel. I hope I never have to use it...mostly because it  will kick like a mule, and ruin what's left of my hearing. I used a Ruger .357 2" barrel revolver for my CCW license about 10 years ago, and was pleased with the accuracy. My .357 police revolver is by far my favorite to fire. Extremely accurate, and smooth action. I've never owned a semi automatic hand gun. They don't "feel right" to me.

translate it as being...." I hate your country....the one your ancestors died defending.....the one that rolls out the red carpet for immigrants, so they can achieve goals beyond their dreams." I've known many black people throughout my life. Some I consider my brothers, and would do anything for. Others....not so much. Exactly like the relationships I've had with white people...some good...some bad. But...the numerous occurrences of unarmed black men being killed by these stupid ass cops, who think they are Dirty Harry, makes me want to puke. If the local government officials are too dumb to hire responsible people as public servants, to PROTECT our citizens, then changes are needed. We all talk about the racial tension with the riots in the '60's. It was bad, but not like today. Things have not improved over the years. They're much worse now than ever.

How is it that in the same paragraph so badly interpret the gesture...and then turn around actually seem to comprehend it and defend the right of people to do it?

I come back again to when I have to kneel in church....you are showing reverence and respect...and at the same time, in some instances, you are confessing you own faults and your own inadequacies, and asking that you become a better, more enlightened purpose....which seems to me what is happening here.

Does it really take one being raised a Catholic  to understand that this is what the act of kneeling  has been about?  (I don't know...I don't recall ever being asked to kneel at my wife's Lutheran church the times I went there...including being married there.   We may have been asked to stand, but not to kneel.

I explained it this way....that is MY interpretation. Just because it is not yours, doesn't make it a bad interpretation. I thought you were a lawyer...not a psychologist. While I acknowledge that I could possibly have faults, if I did I would never admit or apologize for them. Keep in mind....this is opinion, so not necessarily how you might see things.

  4. This is a complicated topic to weigh in on. I don't want to appear to be racist, but I consider myself to be patriotic, having grownup in the '60's, saying the Pledge of Allegiance every morning in school, then vacationing in South east Asia for 12 months after high school...courtesy of Uncle Sam. Every 4th of July, at 1 p.m. I have a tradition of cranking up the volume on the Jimi Hendrix version of the National Anthem, probably to the dismay of my neighbors.  I respect all veterans for their service, and will never kneel during the National Anthem. I'm not a member of the KKK, but I'm also not one to applaud looters who use a cause like BLM as an excuse to get a new big screen tv, or destroy communities. Baker Mayfield has every right to kneel during the National Anthem...as does Colin Kapernick, or anyone else, white or black. I won't be forced to participate, though, by being told I'm unaware of the message being sent. The message to me is loud and clear. I translate it as being...." I hate your country....the one your ancestors died defending.....the one that rolls out the red carpet for immigrants, so they can achieve goals beyond their dreams." I've known many black people throughout my life. Some I consider my brothers, and would do anything for. Others....not so much. I have a buddy who convinces himself - usually by May - that the Browns are Super Bowl contenders, or at the very least, headed in that direction.

Now, I know fans tend to be optimistic on their team, but this guy is extreme. Every year - and I mean every year - he absolutely talks his way into the Browns headed to greatness. He's done it since I've known him - decades. He will go - position by position - and talk his way into believing each position is ready to top the NFL. He actually claimed - and believed - that Vinny Testaverde was a better QB than Steve Young, and this was when Young was in his prime.

Before last season,  he convinced himself that Cleveland's secondary was the best in the NFL (and, of course, believed they had the best WRs, best front 7 on D).

The funniest part of it all is after a Browns' loss, he goes into a full blown depression and completely falls apart and then goes on tirades over how terrible they are. Last year, it only took until week 1 for him ro go completely mental. After the TN game, which I warned him about, he claimed he hated the NFL, it was all fixed and he was done watching any of it again. But don't worry, it's June so he's back to thinking they are Super Bowl contenders again.

He has even gone to the extreme of unfriending and blocking anyone on facebook who ever tries to bring him back to reality. I know fandome is the same as being a zealot, so some of this can be expected. But seeing him go to such extremes is wild and bizarre.

I had no idea you even knew me...

This makes too much damn sense.

I don't want this to be true,  so if anyone could please debunk this using rationale instead of just screaming "conspiracy theorist" I want to hear it. And I want to be able to accept it with open arms.

Hoorta? At least you sound intelligent half the time.

This, among other reports "connects the dots" for people like me, who really have no political agenda, when it comes to Democrats vs. Republicans. I grew up in a Democrat environment and was influenced, I'm sure, as I always considered myself to be more aligned with liberals. However, the evil I have seen orchestrated by the leaders of that party, in recent times, has made me sick. I still do not consider myself to be Democrat or Republican, but I sure as Hell cannot overlook this fiasco outlined in the video. You can call it propaganda, if you want, and keep your political loyalty intact for whichever party, but we are being railroaded by the most powerful organization in the world. You would have to be blind to not see this. I do not believe for one minute, that this virus thing was created by the liberals to destroy Trump, but they certainly jumped on the bandwagon, and now would love to keep this country shut down until after the election. If you think that conservatives are good and pure, just take a look at Cheney. Also...based on the model, projections, reports of Covid 19 deaths, etc., how can any of this be accurate? Why even bother to count, if you do it the way these health organizations keep track. I've heard the same thing from numerous medical professionals. If a patient dies....from any cause, but he displays symptoms...boom!...he's declared to be killed by Covid 19. This is a farce, and I humbly apologize to the families of the elderly who tested positive, contracted pneumonia, then died.... but realistically, this virus was ultimately, not the cause of their death. It makes me wonder if there has ever been a death caused by this Covid 19 crap. Being 70 years old, I suppose that I'm "high risk", by CDC standards. It will be a cold day in Hell, when I let fear of this thing or any other political agenda, have me step in line with the masses, like a robot. Bill Gates and the WHO ( not the band ) can go fuck themselves.

And of course you know I already said to watch for the trumpy admin to start attacking the data, the data gatherers and the data analysts.

See how easy that one was to call. Didn't even get past the weekend.

I haven't really paid any attention to the Trump admin., but after reading and hearing accounts from medical people with first hand experience, telling me that a lot of the deaths aren't even tested....if they have any symptoms, they are counted. So...as far as the stats, go...I don't believe anyone really knows the number of deaths Corona has caused.

When this whole thing began I asked everybody what their anxiety level was. Now we are much deeper into the situation so ...

What's everybody's personal anxiety level and precaution level?

As for myself I take what I think are reasonable precautions. I will occasionally wear a mask just for the worries of others. I do my best to keep my hands clean and I have a bottle of sanitizer in the car for after shopping trips. I do go out to a big box store two or three times a week and the post office a couple times a week. I don't shake hands and hug everybody like I used to. I will start again whenever others are more comfortable. My fear level it's very low oh, maybe 1 how about the rest of you guys? I promise not to give anybody around to shit if your response is different than mine. Let's all try to do that.

How often do you leave the house and go out in public and for what reasons?

I figure anybody could get sick. That's always a possibility no matter what.

    WSS

By the way one of my tenants spends all day riding the bus aimlessly and I worry a little bit about him.

I'm 70 years old, and my fear of this virus is zero. I operate a small business which is considered essential, so my day to day routine has not changed, other than supplying masks to employees when required by customers. I'm physically fit and healthy, so I am not threatened by this thing. I do have concern for others, but no more than my concern for them getting pneumonia....which, in my opinion is the real cause for the deaths they are claiming to be caused by Corona virus.

Outside of a few teams with bad QB play, the XFL has been great. Already better than the AAF

Yep....I agree...very entertaining. How long before we have a NFL vs. XFL playoff?

Best practical joke I ever pulled was buying the winning numbers from the Wed. lottery for the next lottery on Sat. and showing friends my "winning" ticket the next morning matching the published winners in the morning paper. Worked like a charm. Had some good laughs outa that. Only one person figured out what I had done by looking at the date for the drawing, not just the "winning" numbers.🤣

An idiot woman who worked for me went to the corner store for lunch, and asked if I wanted any scratch off lottery tickets. I gave her 10 bucks and told her to pick some winners. This was a long time ago, so I think there were only $1.00 tickets. She brought them back and put them on my desk. When I saw them, I scratched them immediately, and lo and behold...a $10k winner! I was strutting around...showing off my winnings...until she said.."Where can you redeem the ticket?". I Iooked on the back, and it said "Redeem at YO' MAMA'S HOUSE!" It was a fake. I wanted to kill her. I'm still laughing g my ass off, though. She played it perfectly.

R.I.P. Swagger. Sad part about big breeds. Their life expectancy is at best as said above 8-10. My wife and I have rescued Big breeds for 22+ years. We specialize in St Bernards(one of the reasons we are Saints fans as well.) Right now we have a 11.5  year old Saint. He is the oldest one to date. We have lost them as early as 1.5 years. He had addison's and had a tumor in his nose rupture. We have 5 Saints now... here are 4 the only one missing is our newest rescue Baker he turned 9 months 2/6!!!   GO BROWNS!

Interesting....I've rescued wolves and hybrids for 25 years. My oldest will be 15 in April...a large male at 120 lbs., but have had up to 160 lbs. Probably nowhere the weight of your animals. It's a long term commitment, with sacrifices. No vacations......includes a couple hours every day, no matter what the weather is, feeding, cleaning pens, interacting with them....but well worth it. It never gets any easier when they pass.

  13. A couple years ago, my wife bought a couple scratch off lottery tickets....the bingo or word ones, where it takes a half hour to scratch off and see if you won. She asked me to take hers to get her winnings.....she said she thought she won $10.00. I took it and found she won $600.00. Like an idiot, I gave her the money. I should have given her $10.00 and said..."yep...you won 10 bucks".

My wife gave me $20 to bet on her behalf. I am coming home with $89 of her money. Played at the slots at Bally‘s. 25 years ago we came here and she won 1000 bucks. So don’t say that the house always wins. If you’re smart enough to quit while you’re ahead you can win.

Be prepared.....she's going to ask you why you only have $89.00.

Yes Haslam has proven to be a football owner moron. Can't argue any of the facts...But, quit looking behind the Wizards curtains :o... Dolphins HC Bryan Flores is a perfect example, football is played between the white lines.. Get behind The Stefanski train to push this roster up the hill or simply jump off.. Go Brown$ !!

So...what you're saying is...don't criticize anything. Just blindly support the ownership no matter what?.....or don't root for the Browns? Bottom line: I don't root for the Haslams, the Lerners, or anyone who has proven to be incompetent in assembling a competitive NFL team in Cleveland. Stefanski is unproven...just like Kitchens was. For me to get behind him will take some evidence that he is or can become a decent HC. The rest of this management...Depodesta, Berry, Haslams,....they can all take a flying leap as far as I'm concerned.

  16. What a difference a year makes. We were up and coming...new talent...optimistic...only question mark was Freddie. Credible players and coaches wanted to come here. Today, Haslam has succeeded in removing all the optimism of ever reaching mediocrity, let alone, the playoffs. He has once again reinforced his status as a moron among NFL owners. This team didn't just not live up to the hype of last season, they set a new standard for disappointment. How can a person who achieves the wealth this guy did, be so damn dumb? Or, is it like somebody else suggested?...did he buy the team with intentions of sabotaging us for life? While it was ridiculous when I first read that angle, I'm really starting to wonder. 0 - 16....our comfort zone....here we come again.  Haslam = moron.

I agree - Ghoolie and the people who support him are wildly sensitive to any criticism.

People are normal here.  If Ghoolie acted that way in person with any group.. he'd quickly find himself with zero friends, perhaps [justifiably] with a broken nose.  If you don't like or understand that - you, personally, are objectively wrong and it's time for you to stop being sensitive.  Or antisocial, of course.

LMFAO!!...who the fu__ are you to judge me, and conclude that I am wrong, when it's not a right or wrong topic?...it's an opinion. Yes...I'm a little sensitive to arrogant morons.
