BronBron IS back

Dan gilbert also did next to nothing first go round to support lebron James with a sufficient team to win a title. Mo Williams, over the hill shaq. James would have never left if gilbert did what needed to be done to keep James in wine and gold.

It wasnt Gilberts fault, it was the GM Danny Ferry. Gilbert has always been ready to write whatever check is necessary ... I think he just finally got the GM and coach right.

Ferry put us in cap hell with bad trades. Donyel Marshall, Jamario Moon, Mo, who i liked. These contracts killed us, but Gilbert said do what you gotta do, because Ferry came from the Spurs and was a up and coming GM. When Boozer left, it really hurt the team, we would have been so much more had he stayed witht the Cavs. It is what it is though. We have some pretty good young talent for once, and the East is weak as hell, so we could do some damage this year. The only thing that makes me mad is that we traded Zeller. I think they gave up on him to soon. He would have been great in the Blatt offense.

When it all boils down its gilbert writing the checks. Ferry didn't do his part but the owner can do as he or she pleases. If gilbert didn't want to lose James he should have done more. Period.

You're a jackass. Gilbert opened up his checkbook. The basketball people he hired ( Ferry) made poor choices. Period.

Owner writes the checks ... gilbert was good at that. GM chooses how to spend it ... Ferry was bad at that.

The problem is if he does come back wiggins will be traded in a deal for Kevin love which i think the cavs will regret.

sorta confuseing if he is coming back i dont get why dragging it out i know if he dont now he never will be welcome back and the cavs will look like idiots getting rid of zeller and a 1st rounder for nothing

I agree with that. Wiggins has some potential to be very good. However, you got to look at Love being in his prime and he has played against the west his entire career and has faired pretty well. Who knows what will happen. Also, I wont be mad if Bron does not come here, we have a very good young core and just freed up some cap space, so we will go get our new center in Greg Monroe and Trevor Ariza.

In basketball you need an owner that's willing to write the checks (cough Clayton Bennett cough) and a GM who can both find talent in the draft and free agency. Gilbert, for all his downfalls, is willing to write dem checks. I guarantee you most experienced GM's wouldn't mind working for him. Hell if Presti wasn't sitting on Durant, Westbrook, and Ibaka, he would've taken a sit down with Gilbert. (I'm still upset about the Harden trade and even more so about the refusal to amnesty Perkins last year, or the refusal to fire Brook's dumbass, if you couldn't tell.)

Now can you blame him for senselessly forcing the trading of future assets for half a year rentals of Deng and Hawes? Yeah but who doesn't love an owner that's willing to do whatever it takes to win? I wish the owner of my team was willing to dip into the tax (aka his assets) for 2-3 years to keep 3 of the top 15 and 4 of the top 20 players in the league together, while ultimately still being one of the top 5 most profitable franchises in the NBA this past year in one of the smallest markets. (Sorry I couldn't help myself.) Ultimately the GM's job is to craft the best assortment of assets for the team to win.

Ferry was gifted two things every NBA GM has wet dreams about. An owner who is willing to write dem checks and a transcendent talent on the court. I don't think any GM in recent (and I mean since MJ) NBA history has had that wet dream realized.

No deal with wiggins. If that's what Lebron is demanding, that we trade for Love which means Wiggins goes...than he should stay in Miami. Kevin Love will be a FA after next year. This upcoming year could be a great audition for Wiggins being able to play with Lebron and Kyrie.....chances are we may very well get Kevin Love the following year. If we were to trade for Love and Lebron ends up deciding to stay in Miami or go elsewhere...that would shitcan the Cavs for 10 years. Keep Wiggins at all costs cause he's our future in case wishy wash decides he's not coming back afterall. He should be plenty pleased to play with Kyrie and Wiggins this year with the almost sure deal we'd get Love the next year. If Lebrons smart he just comes here and coasts for one year letting Kyrie and Wiggins carry the team, probably still make a decent playoff run...but then the following year with Love begins a reign of basketball akin to the 90's bulls. Lebron, Kyrie, Wiggins, Love....hopefully some other big center prototype at some point, it would be a team that Lebron could win championships with till he's in his late 30's. Look at what Kobe's doing and he was the only guy on that team since Shaq left. He'd have played into his 40's if he was on the spurs.

I was of the opinion he was coming back, but when I thought about it, there isn't even any conformation that he met with anyone from the Cavs. I think this "he's coming back frenzy" may be based on hope more than fact. It has to be the Heat or Cleveland but we know he met with the Heat. I can still hope but I'm not holding my breath.

I agree the gm plays a substantial role but when you have the best player in the NBA on your team you step in as an owner before things get out of hand. Gilbert fvcked up just as bad as ferry.

It's definitely hope. I'd like to see him go back tho.

Exactly. Vag should read the Terry Pluto article I posted earlier. When LeBron was here the Cavs had one of the highest payrolls in the NBA. Gilbert proved he was willing to spend whatever it took to help the Cavs win. He's got even deeper pockets now, with the Casino. Oh, Dan is getting some Heat (pun intended) on ESPN about the nastygram after Le Bron left- but he just put into words what 90% of Cleveland fans were feeling. I'm sure James saw his jerseys getting burned in the street.

Nope, Vag- you don't really understand who the real GM of the Cavs was in that time frame- and it wasn't Ferry. Just like Reilly isn't currently the real GM of the Heat. Who said "I really like Napier?" Hmmmmm? All of a sudden a trade just strangely happens draft day- so who was pulling the strings? That was Le Bron pal. Same as getting Jamison and Shaq to help him win his ring in Cleveland.

this will be 'the decision II'. all played out on national tv once again.

fuck trading wiggins and each passing hour....fuck lebron coming back. if the cavs can't figure out how to start winning w/o one of these guys then all the money in the world means squadoosh.

now they're saying "if not for gilbert's letter, this deal would have been done already."

WAAAH!.

fucking get over it. either you're coming back or you're not. have gilbert dress up in a chicken suit and do a shuck and jive in downtown akron. then lebron can apologize to the city of cleveland.

get on with it already.

Don't underestimate the power of the friendship between JM and the King. I suspect it is a bigger factor than most realize. And it would be their mutual marketing guy's dream come true.

would instantly make cleveland midwest celebrity hub and a viable place for others players to consider playing when in the past they would have never considered.
