The Cleveland Guardians announced Sunday's game against the Detroit Tigers has been postponed due to inclement weather and will be rescheduled as a traditional doubleheader on Monday, Aug. 15, starting at 3:10 p.m. ET. Gates will open at 2:00 p.m. ET and only fans with tickets to the August 15 contest will be able to attend. The attending patron of today’s contest will be able to exchange into one of 30 game options, including the August 15 doubleheader.

Jose on Monday July 18 at 8 pm on ESPN  joining other Indians from the past on the Home Run Derby.   

And on Tuesday July 19 at 8 pm on FOX  Jose and his fellow Guardians in the All Star Game.

Soto moves on -- not even needing his 60 seconds of extra time to beat Ramirez. Soto's longest blast was his 17th of the round: a 482-foot rocket just below the concourse in right-center. You get the feeling he might just be warming up for some titanic home runs in the next two rounds.

Frustrating loss for the G's last night, hopefully they don't duplicate what they did with the White Sox at Progressive Field - win the first two games of a four game set, only to lose the last two and split...

Still, it is enjoyable seeing the Sox struggle this season. Tony LaRussa is, well, a dick. 

Will be fun watching the Guardians down the stretch. A lot of young talent, with a lot more coming up in the next season or so. They have a lot of decisions to make, with the logjam of talent they have and will have in the outfield and middle infield.

Guardians  48-45  .516  (57.4%) complete   -2 GB.    With 69 games to go this young team is doing much better than anyone in baseball expected.   And Tito is a great second half manager,  always has been.

It will be interesting to see if the G's do anything concerning the fast approaching trade deadline (August 2nd). 

They are probably a year ahead of schedule in regards of contending for the A.L. Central crown, but here we are, it's still a thing. Their farm system is packed, they have a glut of middle-infielders, and perhaps they can get someone to take Franmil Reyes off their hands. (I blame myself for his struggles this season. I got a Guardians shirt with his name and number on it before the season.)
