I got hung up at my doctor's office when he sent me for blood work and I got hung up there.  I missed just the   SECOND    game of the 2022 season.   

In my ride home caught the eighth  and ninth highlights of the game.    Guardians 7-2  and won it.

Oh well.

The 1997 INDIANS maybe best since the  '48 or '54 Indians  or '27 Yankees finished. 100  44    .693  we're on pace for 112 wins. I believe they might have had a shot at  115-117  +/-.      And now you know.....

Correction. Saturday  6:10  and Sunday 12:05 pm.  That sounds better, get away days are early..

I hear Quantrill takes no prisoners. 😱😁

So were the first two pitchers against the Astros' two best just sacrificial lambs to get to this game? They both looked like batting practice for the Stros. That grand slam pitch looked like T-ball.

The G's starting rotation has some holes in it now... Civale has been out for a bit, and Plesac has really struggled and has the worst luck.

The Astros are loaded with good pitching right now. And that kid who came in with one out with bases loaded when it was 8-3 was just plain wicked to the last batter in that inning. That strike 3 was thrown at the batters knees and then took a right turn up and in to the left inside corner. It locked him up so bad he was shakin' it seemed. I told my wife that was the most wickedly devilish pitch I'd ever seen. I don't know any hitter that would have even attempted to put a bat on it because it looked like a sure ball way inside when it left the pitchers' hand.

Oh yes just look at the Yankees that everyone has been talking about 70 wins guess who else has 70 wins yeah HOU.

The Guardians might have a better chance Saturday and Sunday

From a 30+ homer guy to gone.

Before the season started, I got a Guardians shirt and had Reyes' name and number on it, because I thought Jose Ramirez was going to be traded away. 

That shirt didn't age well.

The designated hitter is designated for assignment.  Cleveland needed big bats he came up short and not that good with a glove.  Gone forever ?  Signed through 2022. Seriously we all were thinking he might break through.

They did not carry the game here, but reading the box score I see they gave two of the best Astros the day off and brought each in as pinch hitters one at bat only. Still it was an excellent match-up just like I thought it would be between those two pitchers. Astros are rotating the day off now as they should be with such a big lead over 2nd place Seattle. Cleveland however is in the middle of a dogfight with Minn. and Chisox from here on out though.

Strangest thing, I was just typing  0-0 bottom 5.  Great pitcher's duel....so far.    And Maile was up, crack home run over the 17' wall.    [I'm thinking Maile ? Maile ? Hammy says first HR in 3 years...(me, not with the Indians)....he said 2019.]  CLE 1-0.

I was thinking maybe this game would break up a bit....WRONG !   The pitchers dug in right through McKenzie and 18 straight and Clase time.  He's becoming a lock down 94-100 mph with movement closer.  Whoa.  From Play ball to Clase it was better than advertised.

In a season they were rebuilding. They've had nine players get their first MLB hit this season.

When I saw that last night I couldn't believe my eyes.  Ol' Tito Francona working his magic with about 51 games left.

I don't know if most people realize what's going on here with these young guns !     They started this season -2 years younger than Pittsburgh then KC and the other cellar dwellers.  I was hoping that they  "might" be in a WC race before fading away late.

Now they're taking a shot at #1 in the AL Central.  They are a dangerous late inning ball club leading the MLB in some important stats. A good set up pitching staff, Clase can be "unhittible"  at times.  Still pieces of a good 1-5 staff.  Still lacking in HR hitters  -but-  doing that 1-9 stuff Tito has wanted all along for these young guns.

Will this club make it to October who really knows.....but I wouldn't put it past them.  Jose, Jimenez, Naylor, Gonzalez  plus the starters coming around  ?

I've only missed 2 of 110 games, 111 at 1:10 pm today.  They are a scrappy, tough bunch.  

Plesac 2.82 run support  third worst in baseball,  he's so due. McKenzie is just breaking through,  Beiber is Cy Young good, slow start, again low run support, Quantrill  (8-5) don't forget about him. there. 

And the 9th Guardian player to get 1st MLB hit No not a last place club.  It's there for 2023 breaking through in 2022.

GO GUARDIANS,  it's there.....

Here it is.  Win, tie, lose ?  Del los Santos is in.   3-3 tie game 2 outs.   Crap.  Stephan & Del los santos  didn't come through this afternoon.   

....  3-3  top 10.  The 9th got away today.  Now CLE 4-3 bottom 10.  1 out.  WHOA !!  Sweep and W5.
