Luckily I have emotionally checked out of this year. The jets game was a sign of things to come.

this is a concerning loss. So bad that you turn it off. The browns have talent. They aren’t utilizing it. If things don’t change when Watson comes back stef might get fired. Losing those valuable easy early games killed the season.

I’m starting to think not only is the coaching bad, the talent is severely overrated

When are we going to scheme a win, or game plan for the specific game we are playing and out coach someone?

It just never seems to happen

Only seems to happen vs Cincy.

This was a truly embarrassing loss.

I've said it for years, the NFL comes down to winning at home, and stealing a division win or two on the road, plus draft well. We just can't seem to get it as an organization.

Maybe curses are real.

The Indians are kicking ass the very year they changed their name. Curse broken.

The Browns were cursed when Modell fired Paul Brown. The Browns shoulda forced Modell take the name colors and curse with him to Baltimore, and the new franchise in Cleveland be given a new start with a new name.

The Cavs have no curse attached to them, and lo and behold they win a title for our great city.

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL PROFESIONAL FOOTBALL GAME.

DISGUSTING PERFORMANCE TODAY.

NO EXCUSES.

On the other hand    GO GUARDIANS  !    Just one win from a trip to the   AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME !

Playing with an amazing never say die attitude and led by an amazing manager and awesome front office that’s known in the entire league as the BEST  in the business at how they run the Indians now Guardians.

The Cleveland Browns specifically their owners should be ashamed of how bad they've screwed up running the entire  organization since they have been in charge.  Direct enough  ?  mjp.

.....edid add......Today's game was a prime example of what's going on.

Hmmm.

I don't believe in curses, but one must wonder how we went from turning the corner in 2018 to this.

I happen to think it's two things-A) the Browns can't get out of their own way and  B the NFL doesn't want success here.

Regarding "B," once again our QB gets grabbed by the helmet today, no call. And how many times was Amari Cooper held or interfered with today?

Regarding "A" it appears that the NYJ & Jax have improved, while we stay mired in the muck. This SUCKS.

At least the INT comes early this game

There were plenty more after the first one.  Not just Jacoby stunk.... That was an utter failure in all three phases.. Offense, defense, and special teams. Throw in bad coaching too...  Going for two and fail? Thanks for keeping it a two score game Kev.  :(

It's only the third time in attending probably 100+ Browns game I've ever walked out early. I only hope that total stink job by the Cleveland Clowns- er Browns has washed the bad karma out into the lake in time for the Guardians playoff game tonight.

Yeah, time to rack up- with a little lyric change of a Guns n Roses tune.... Welcome to the basement...

We are definitely cursed when I take my wife"The Curse" to a Browns game...  The story is... the Browns 1986 playoff game against the Jets...  When it was looking bleak She uses her ultimate whammy... "God, I don't care if I ever see the Browns win another game, as long as we win this one".  Request granted... She didn't see the Browns win another game for 20+ years, and it was against the Jets.  Seems the curse is still somewhat active, I had great confidence we were going to ruin a beautiful afternoon down by the lake.

Browns: It is time for Kevin Stefanski to be the boss

We are now six weeks into the season, and the Cleveland Browns are still making the same mistakes they made in Week 1. While the Browns do not want to make midseason changes to their coaching staff according to The OBR’s Brad Stainbrook, it is time for Kevin Stefanski to make the tough decisions a boss has to make.

There is little shot Stefanski gets fired as the offensive side of the football has been a bright spot (outside of today’s lemon of a game against the New England Patriots). Especially considering he is working with a journeyman backup quarterback who is starting to look like one again.

However, at the end of the day, his staff is a reflection of him. And while defensive coordinator Joe Woods and special teams coordinator Mike Priefer are personal friends of Stefanski, this train is too far off the rails to attempt to redeem.

Coming into this game against the Patriots, the Cleveland defense ranked dead last in DVOA, making them the least efficient defense in the league. They entered 16th against the pass and 32nd against the run.

Those numbers will not be trending up as the Woods-led defense allowed a fourth round rookie in Bailey Zappe to drop over 300 yards passing on them. They also allowed over 100 yards rushing again, which has become too consistent of a theme for this unit.

There are no more excuses left out there for Woods. He had his unit firing as a top-10 unit at the end of last season, but this type of regression and effort is nothing but a reflection of the man guiding them. The bye week is two weeks away for the Browns, but with back-to-back games against division rivals that could save the season in Cleveland, they have no margin for error.

The same goes for Priefer’s special teams units as they managed to produce two costly mishaps at the end of the game when Cleveland still had a chance to fight back. An onside kick where A.J. Green touched the ball while out of bounds that would have been otherwise recovered by the Browns, then a muffed punt where Green once again vacated the gunner and allowed them to crowd punt returner Chester Rogers’ space.

Pile these on top of crucial missed kicks, poorly downed punts that could have rolled inside the five-yard line, and a blown onside kick in Week 2, these Priefer-led units are too prone to mistakes.

Again, the Browns have a back-to-back stretch against AFC North rivals, two teams that have shown vulnerability. However, the Browns need something to change, something to ignite a spark in this team. With this thin of a margin for error, there is little reason to continue to run it back with the current arrangement.

It is time for Stefanski to do the most difficult part of his job and fire his friends.

In a game of chess, the Browns may end up playing checkers and buttichek may look "brilliant" again.

My bad. Steph is very, very bad at checkers, too.

I mean, seriously, folks. Bissett is 6'4" and they can't get a qb sneak on 4th and 1? Passes batted down? Ain't just Baker.......something else is wrong. I believe Step has risen to the level of his incompetence, and beyond. Zappe - over 300 yards and two TD's, no ints.

One of the sources of alienation for many on this board was EXACTLY because I promoted what you just said. To me, the Browns went to Baltimore. The new team should have been given a new name and instead of Lerner and the NFL reaping $billions from our loyalty, they should have been forced to build their own following, their own history.

With that said, there are no such things are curses. There is only stupidity, stubbornness, and in the case of the Browns, two lackadaisical owners so unaccomplished in football, so hungry to bring a SB to Cleveland that they fell victim to the very best of the NFL hucksters who garnered countless $millions by selling the owners on snake oil.

Phil Sewage, Romeo, Hue, Holmgren and now Berry/Depo have the ear of ownership. "Just be patient, we are on the right course".

Instead of hiring execs for their personal values, drive, passion and ideas, Lerner and now Haslam hired management based on their resume. The Browns need an upstart, a mercenary, a guy who bleeds football; a guy with a chip on his shoulder and hate in his belly. Bill Cowher V 2.0.

Lookie here, the name, the move, and all that bullshit means nothing. There is a cancer within the Browns organization and it isn't going to be cured by simply looking for the next impressive resume. Whatever the fuck is wrong with the Browns, it starts with Haslam. If his ear is attached to charlatans, nothing on the field or in the locker room is going to change anything.
