  1. To satisfy the Rooney rule?....wait, he's white.
  2. No it’s not. Dorsey inherited the biggest cap of $108m in the history of the NFL and 11 draft picks and what do he have to show for it?We have virtually zero depth. I won’t repeat my analysis of the Zeitler trade which was disastrous for a short QB like Baker. I won’t regret him being fired at all.
  3. Correction: half a season as OC using someone else's playbook. Good riddance, he was the worst coach since the return, even worse than Hue ( I said it) despite 6 wins which were won on pure talent not game planning. Since 1999 I've never witnessed such an undisciplined and unprepared team. Dorsey who hired him also deserves to be fired by screwing up the biggest coaching hire since the return and setting this franchise back another year.
  4. Stefanski was analytics (and possibly Haslam's) choice. Depodesta may indeed choose the next coach.
  5. Hue was Haslam’s hire, he overruled their choice of (now 10-5) Sean McDermott the Bills coach
  6. Take whatever Mike Lombardi says with a grain of salt however there is a distinct possibility that the Haslams could release Dorsey along with Kitchens on Black Monday
  7. Haven't seen anyone post this but on this week's Orange and Brown podcast report one of the great mysteries of the offseason was explained. Remember when everyone was screaming about Beckham missing OTA's? Well looks like he made the right decision because THE OFFENSIVE SCHEME wasn't ready and all the players were doing was lounging around or fitness training etc. In (ahem) well coached teams, the Offense is installed before the OTA and the players are initially exposed to it. No wonder the offense still can't line up properly and Beckham and Mayfield are often in different area codes. 8. GMs are rarely given a second chance to hire a coach when the first hire was a failure and in this case a resounding failure. Jimmy's going to go with DePodesta's recommendation this time so let's see how Dorsey reacts to that.
  9. Exactly, everything wrong about Freddie was highlighted in the last 3 minutes of the first half.
  10. Really, we were embarassed by the JV version of the Ravens last week and you think we'll beat the real deal? Freddie was hired for his "offensive genius". By every benchmark the offense is worse (since he no longer has Haley's playbook?) compounded by being outcoached, team indiscipline etc. Even the Haslams shouldn't give him another year.
  11. So looks like Freddie will be out, he's been given the impossible task of beating Baltimore this week to keep his job per Daryl Ruiter's report today.
  12. Freddie’s lost the team, none of these guys want to play for the Cardinals they just want to embarrass Freddie and get him fired. This report got the Browns ripped on PTI today.
  13. Agree, need an experienced coach who can manage these outsized egos including Baker's.
  14. Well looks like Freddie rejected the lifeline with that performance, maybe it's for the best.
  15. I liked the OBJ trade at the time but this year Mayfield’s been forcing the ball to him instead of distributing it evenly like last year. Perriman can take the top off a defense like OBJ was supposed to. Wilkes’ defense relies on good strong safety play which we haven’t had all year, Peppers is MUCH better than everyone we’ve put out there this season and probably would’ve won us the Denver game at least ( Whitehead’s masterpiece). Edit: Also Perriman wanted to stay, he only requested to be released after OBJ was acquired.
  16. Let's see, I hope you're right.
  17. In Freddie's defense, Dorsey's trading for OBJ put more pressure on Kitchens as a win now team. In hindsight they should've kept Perriman, Peppers and solidifed both lines. Still doesn't excuse the lack of discipline though.
  18. Simple, Dorsey didn't draft him. He hates Sashi's players and prefers his "real" football players like Jermaine Whitehead. If Schobert walks they're going to create a hole in the LB corp, Wilson is nowhere close to the production of Schobert and TakiTaki is a special teams caliber player for the foreseeable future. So far Dorsey looks incapable of building a team but is fixated on bringing in his guys, creating a hole somewhere then uses picks and cap space to fix it. Good teams keep their talent, Schobert was a 4/5th round pick that's been developed into a probowler and we're going to let another team benefit from that?
  19. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, appears that he is safe although I wish he wasn't. The weak second half of the schedule shouldn't give him a pass for the overall poor performance and indiscipline of the team. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001087466/article/browns-continue-to-support-head-coach-freddie-kitchens
  20. You and me both, they killed my fantasy season. Funnily enough, this is the first time I ever drafted Browns players early. There was a game where I only needed 10 pts from both to win, I got -3 from Baker and 6 or 7 from Beckham
  21. Hold on to your horses, this was against Cincinnati, Teller was terrible against Pittsburgh.
  22. Freddie's hire was completely Dorsey's. At the time Tony Gross noted that at the inaugural press conference, the Haslams were present but didn't utter a word signifiying that he was Dorsey's hire successful or not. Having said that, the owner should have the final say on the person he'd like to lead 53 men on and off the field. Prior to this Freddie had never demonstrated that and I don't even know if he'd shown close attention to detail (Chubb didn't know to switch the football to his sideline arm when making long runs after a year under Freddie's RB coaching). Very telling that Bruce Arians promoted Byron Leftwich over him for OC in Arizona.
  23. Plausible deniability BS, you believe that then I have bridge to sell you. Patriots don't get the benefit of the doubt with their track record. Read what happened on "The Athletic", videographer was clearly taping the Bengals' sidelines, signals and substitution for nearly a quarter ( purported Advance Scout was nowhere in the frame) and after being caught begged that the tape be deleted rather than handed over to the NFL.
