  1. Chill, although McCarthy studied analytics for a year I don't think he would've aligned well in this organization. McDaniels is a better fit among the former head coaches and I read he's interviewing today.
  2. It also crossed my mind and wouldn't be surprised if that happens. Brady with these weapons gives us a legitimate chance at the SB ala Denver with Manning.
  3. I presume they thought that since Banner hired Lombardi they were aligned but didn't know that Lombardi is a self-serving snake.
  4. No, I didn't mean that. Once Stefanski and McDaniels are interviewed this week, the interviews will be completed and a decision made. I'm not too keen on McDaniels as I've said before the owners just need to find a winning coach. On paper a lot of people thought Hue was the best candidate at the time, Kitchens was a risk but made sense from a continuity standpoint for Baker and we see how both turned out. The Browns is the Haslam's toy let them figure it out.
  5. Best possible outcome for Browns fans, we can finalize the interview process make a decision and target assistants instead of waiting a few more weeks.
  6. We shouldn't, can only hope this is an exception to the quote "past performance doesn't guarantee results". It only took them 7 yrs to realize that everyone in a football organization should have a unified goal. 2018/19 Baltimore Ravens are a testament to this as I've stated on this forum before.
  7. Admittedly my doubts were creeping in about Baker this season but when I read about how Bienimy prepares Mahomes for games ( I linked it in the HC/GM thread) which obviously lacked here I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Not endorsing Bienimy but I want someone like him who pays attention to detail and coaches his players hard.
  8. Kitchens was mostly to blame by designing poor gameplans and lack of attention to detail, Dorsey as well by blacklisting Higgins, cutting Fells, trading Zeitler and firing Zampese. Baker admits he didn't train hard in the offseason but that reflects on the culture Dorsey set in the building where he crowned Baker's a** before he'd really achieved anything.
  9. Nice, would be great if we could list the pros and cons of the coach/GMs. I've linked an article from a year ago that lists some cons of McCarthy and pros of Bienimy. Bienimy appears to pay close attention to detail, something we sorely missed this year and is a disciplinarian. I read elsewhere that he coached Adrian Peterson hard at Minnesota (while he was a probowler). I'm not favoring any candidates this time, just hope they find a winning one. He worked his way up from RB coach to OC, skipping QB coach. Notably while Kitchens was in Arizona he was demoted from QB to RB coach, which obviously didn't come up in his interview. https://theundefeated.com/features/k-c-chiefs-eric-bieniemy-ought-to-be-packers-first-choice-as-head-coach/
  10. Doesn't Mingo have a SB ring with the Patriots? We're victims of innumerable scheme changes that hasn't enhanced our players strengths.
  11. Besides hating Landry (and Chad Thomas) his takes are usually pretty good plus they're good enough for Sports Illustrated to pay him for them.
  12. He was head of football operations his mandate is to build a team not create holes just to bring his guys in which happened all too often. This is an unfortunate trait of many GMs but it’s still a flaw.
  13. When they were unsalvageable, he’d cut his own: Callaway, Whitehead and Corbett. Productive players who weren’t his guys were inactivated or dispensed of otherwise.
  14. As Tour2ma stated elsewhere on this forum: Inability to play nice with others that also ended his tenure in KC. Myguyism, if he didn't bring you into the building your days were numbered no matter how talented you were or could contribute to the scheme. Shelton should've been retained for run blocking, Ogunjobi is more of a rotational NT and is terrible against the run. News is now leaking that the inactives list was also dictated by him which explains Njoku, Higgins and Avery's absences.
  15. No we won't, we won 6 games without a head coach this year 🤣
  16. I'm not favoring any candidates, the Haslams just need to find someone who can win, period.
  17. Apparently Dorsey's presence was actually an obstacle to hiring Mcarthy. If he accepts the job he'll apparently team up with Elliot Wolf as his GM Wiley was right not probably I soured on Freddie from the very first game. I've watched all the opening games of the season and that was the most ill prepared team I witnessed. I had serious doubts he could fix it before the end of the season Dorsey is a talent evaluator not a GM now proven with two failures at the job. He just collected talent and did not build a team. He also selected a DC coordinator whose scheme didn't match the players on the roster (eg Zone coverage with man CB's) and traded away Peppers (a player of that caliber was essential in Wilke's scheme). In addition to players you mentioned should've also kept Shelton, Ogbah and Nassib for depth. According to Zac Jackson on the latest A to Z podcast, we're not an attractive destination due to the Haslams and a mediocre loudmouthed quarterback (paraphrasing, listen to actual quote yourself).
  18. Admin we can close this thread now, Wiley was proven right 😉.
  19. Lesmerise the Sashi lifer get’s the last laugh.
  20. At the time I believe Sashi told Haslam to expect 3-5 wins the first year and possibly also the 2nd year obviously we went 1-31 and the rest is history.
  21. Not so sure about that Flores won 5 games in Miami where the FO went full Sashi this year.
  22. Agree, Haslam's problem is that he agrees to a plan but only half heartedly sticks to it. If they'd Hired Mcdermott instead of Hue as the analytics guys recommended we'd be at the end of their 5 year plan with probably better results.
  23. Highsmith was already out the door, he's being considered for a position at the U of Miami. Wolff will apparently retain his position.
  24. A level headed response in the sea of "woe is me" responses. Guys need to freakin grow some balls around here, there's a reason another moniker for NFL is "not for long". Dorsey lost a power play pure and simple by appointing the completely unqualified Kitchens as his pliable puppet coach that blew up in his face. Kitchens wasn't a rising star in the NFL, he was a fraud assisted by Zampese, Saunders etc who took an an opportunity gifted to him. In fact Dorsey sealed his own fate by firing Zampese, we can all see how Baker's performance drastically deteriorated after that. He drafted some good players but wasted a lot of draft picks acquiring players like Tyrod Taylor, Beckham etc, dropping players like Shelton, Ogbah and Nassib (who would've provided depth instead of Chad Thomas and Chris Smith), acquiring questionable characters like Whitehead and Callaway and blew our cap space. He's a talent evaluator and has now failed twice at GM, good riddance.
  25. Not excited by McDaniels but who knows at this point?
