Deserve is a tough word. I tend to agree he doesn’t deserve top money based on his skill set but the question in the NFL is what’s plan B?  QB is the most important and hardest position to procure.

I don't think the Browns offer a $40 mill a year contract. $20, maybe. But top $? No way.

  2. That song by Dobie Gray does not say "Gimmee the people" but I thought it did. So did many others, because when I entered "Gimme of the people" into Youtube, it came up. It's actually called "Drift Away" and the lyrics say "gimmee the beat boys" not gimmee the people."

Any how, I thought of my original understanding when it came to the Browns "Peoples." He needs more balls thrown his way, especially deep ones. He is legit. Now without the whiner gobbling up targets, I expect Peoples to me more involved in the passing attack,  further opening up the offense.

Did I miss something? Has been out there that obj asked his father to post this video on Instagram? I agree you can't have this in the locker room and it looks awful but I'm just curious if it has been shown that obj wanted his dad to post this? The way it is being covered it seems like obj himself posted this or said something.

I don't think he ever refuted any of the points in the video, might as well posted it himself.

I’ll never understand why but this team is far better when he’s not on the field. The hell with releasing him , pay him to sit at home. I don’t want him on a team we face in a get even game.

THIS. I got ridiculed in here for stating this long ago.

  5. Well, Cleveland couldn't move him so now there is talk of outright cutting him. Even I didn't predict it would come to this. There is other talk of putting him on IR for the rest of the season. I guess those who were laughing at the thought of trading him don't think it's so funny anymore.

He was never a good fit. The team has a losing record when he plays for cripes sake. And now with is dad posting this video, trying to prove OBJ's non-production is Baker's fault? Oh wow.

Update: OBJ unexpectedly excused from practice today. Uh oh. Something's going on.

Honestly, if I'm the Browns I'd even overpay him a bit just to keep him around. Guy just brings so much to the team.

Including a great attitude and work ethic and leadership. He was one of the only players speaking out when that turd Hue and then Freddie were "in charge."

Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield will not play Thursday night against the Broncos, the team announced Wednesday.

Case Keenum will start in place of Mayfield.

Mayfield had said Wednesday that he expected to play despite dealing with a torn labrum in his left shoulder. But the team ruled him out one day later.

Mayfield underwent an MRI earlier this week on his left shoulder after re-injuring it on Sunday against the Cardinals when taking a hit by J.J. Watt.

It was initially reported that Mayfield suffered a partially torn labrum in his left shoulder in Week 2. But Mayfield said Tuesday that it was a fully torn labrum.

Keenum, 33, is in his second year with the franchise. He has appeared in two games this season, but has thrown just three passes.

Mayfield had not missed a game in his professional career. On the season, he has thrown for 1,474 yards and tossed six touchdowns and three interceptions.

Cleveland will also be without starting running backs Kareem Hunt and Nick Chubb. Both are dealing with calf injuries.

Cleveland enters Thursday Night Football 3-3 and tied for third place in the AFC North.

IF they get Chubb back and the OL line together, they could still make a run; the rest of schedule is pretty dang soft (other than having to play Balt. twice).

Oh when the BROWNS were 3-1 many people were talking about the super bowl........ now at just 3-3 will they even make the playoffs.

Too early for that talk ?

Their next five games are winnable. 4-1 definitely a possibility. Then they will be right in the mix, hopefully getting healthy, hopefully sans OBJ on the field to screw everything all up, as he has all along, and anyone who can't see it are blind.

Odell leads the team in targets, I believe someone mentioned? I'll have to trust that because I can't look at up at the moment. However if you have a WR leading the team in targets but a RB who (before last sunday) was leading the team in receiving yards, that tends to indicate an inability to get the WR the ball.

Yea, the story is Baker forces passes to OBJ, hurting the entire D. It was precisely when OBJ went out during the Cinci game that Baker came to life, and for the rest of the year, mind you. They say Baker throws to the open man with OBJ out of the game, but forces passes to him when he's in. It looks true to me.

Well, true enough- he hasn't done much since 2018 with the Texans. Also only has played in all 16 games once in his career.

If he makes any significance towards winning, it will be in spots, not consistent all season. But a key play here and there can make a difference in the sum of a season.
