The offensive line is the engine that runs the car. and vs the jets, the car had bad tires on the front of the car.....(wr's) , two cylinders misfiring and backfiring -

of course the steering wheel and gas pedal aren't going to win the race and be excellent. The offensive line was overrun. The Jets have more roughing the passer penalites than any team in the NFL? I think that was what they said. He couldn't have confidence in his oline - well, I watched Peyton Manning's oline have a terrible game - Peyton threw three interceptions in one half. If the oline can't block well or great on plays - the plays don't work - doesn't matter who is the qb. Being a great runner helps at times....

I see the Browns winning the last game if they get their players back.

I see an easy win, I don't think Pitt is even playing most starters, are they?

I was rooting for the Dolphins. However with the Browns covid decimated for the Jets game, this truly sucks. Browns staring at another 10-6 season and watching the playoffs on TV.  :(

Browns beat the Jets and Pgh.

  3. I give kudos to CC when he gets things right...but also shoot at him when he's wrong. The other day he was postulating that the Browns were weak because they over focused/spent on ensuring that Baker would look good (thus saving face on using the 1st pick overall on him), while not spending what they should have on their back 7 on D.

In his rant he completely ignored that the Browns had so many injuries, especially in their DB unit. And that you can't typically "fix" every unit needing upgraded in just one year.  That entire take was BS.

Here is an article by Brent Sobleski on Twitter where he admits that there has been enough time, i.e. games, to where it is becoming clear that the Browns are a better team without OBJ. The stats are all there, and the eye test is there also.

I've been declaring this since before the season even started. The only game they lost since OBJ has been out was the game with the torrential downpour. When OBJ was on the field, Baker felt the pressure to get him the ball; when not, he throws to whoever is open. And what a difference it has been.

This game will be won or lost in the trenches. Whichever OL is able to impose its will to the greatest degree wins.

The way to stop... or at least slow.... Henry is to bottle him up and not let him reach the 2nd level with a head of steam. He needs a hole to be where it is supposed to be. Stuff him early and often and get a lead, then we effectively take him out of the game. And that tees up our now bookend DEs...

Easier said than done? Absolutely... both Titan OGs are having good years so Ogun and Richardson are going to have to be at their best to disrupt and keep our LBs clean. But if we can shift the burden to Tannehill, then we have favorable matchups on the edges and Tannehill is affected by pressure. He needs to be because Brown and Davis scare me going against our 2ndary.

    A little stat look-see...

    Titan Offense ranks:

    • 6th in scoring offense averaging 29.5 ppg.
    • 3rd in rushing averaging 158.2 ypg and T-5th in YPC (4.9)
    • 22nd in passing averaging 227.5 ypg and 7th in YPA (7.4).

    Titan D...

    • 20th in scoring D allowing 25.9 ppg.
    • 16th in rush D allowing 115.5 ypg and 4.3 ypc (16th best).
    • 28th in pass D allowing 268.5 ypg and 6.7 ypa (T-14th).

    We can do this...

The spread is TN -5.5...seems high to me. We all know TN's strength: Henry rushing and a few balls to Brown, who is almost as much of a bitch to tackle as Henry is. On paper, it looks like TN is tailor made to run it down Browns' throat; last week they looked as bad as their rush D ranking.

But, TN's rushing D is middling itself, coming in at 16th. With the way Chubb and Hunt are hitting it, that should be a real concern. And their passing D is near the bottom of the league. Landry could have another big day. I see this as a dogfight. Browns are 4-1 in their last 5. They have found their way to understanding what it takes to win, they have steadied the ship and Stef has to be given credit for it.

This is not the same team that won the Superbowl 2 years ago. But this won't be an easy game.

The Browns have to prove that they can win even hard games.

    GO BROWNS!!!!

The Eagles are 3-5-1 playing in the worst division maybe in NFL history. They are far below even being average. This should be a fairly easy win, if the Browns are decent. Wentz is the most overrated QB in the NFL.

Same thought has crossed my mind, but I think Tomlin has a history of playing his players even when games do not matter to their playoff fate.

Plus with a remaining schedule of @JAX - BLT - WSH - @BUF- @CIN - IND they could be going for win number 16 when they come to our house. A given by no means, but certainly possible.

I think @JAX - BLT - WSH - @BUF- @CIN - IND are not so easy. I can see 3 losses there. Maybe 2. IF Pitt has nothing to gain week 17, Ben ain't playing. But odds are, they will probably have something to play for, I think KC pulls ahead. They may be playing for the div., or home field.

It was reported he was already to come back and then tested positive, so I think he is already better.
