  1. Let me start off by saying the additions to the defense were needed and they are staying healthy and playing well. Most notably the interior defensive lineman. Lots of focus there but let’s not forget some of other guys we’ve seen in different Browns schemes now because The holdovers are playing well. Jordan Elliot made no plays was one of the worst DL last year maybe the previous year too…he’s a solid rotational piece making splash plays when they are presented. The secondary looks comfortable more when they play man and they aren’t trying to communicate with each other in zone coverage. It is a talented group that’s also played together in two different regimes with different results. I don’t have the advanced metrics in front of me. It seems to me we are around the ball and with the exception of the big plays given up against Indy we are limiting YAC big time. Less buffoonery. Most notably our LBs are flying up and making tackles in the flats or breaking up passes there. JOK is thriving, Taki is playing smart football, Anthony Walker is healthy and playing impactful football. The argument I hear is there aren’t bodies on them and this is notable in the run game. Although I saw times last year they were untouched no impediment to the ball and they were MIA not making plays. Most importantly our superstar is playing at the highest level he’s ever played. If I’m leading this group I would spend days/weeks finding ways to deploy this chess piece….it shows that this defensive regime is mindful of this and doing just that. Jim Schwartz was a much needed breath of fresh of air. You could tell He did his homework on our personnel.
  2. I don’t have a problem with Stef being aggressive and going for it in our own territory or going for TDs near the goalline and passing up FGs. From the posts in here, I think it’s kind of 50/50 is support of that. I don’t like that he gets too cute with the play calls in some of those situations. Last year, 4th and 1 (I think Miami or Baltimore) and he throws 40 yard pass with a backup QB that’s broken up. Or this year…1st in goal with a 3rd string QB he’s throwing in the end zone first three plays - instead of turning and handing off to one of the best short yardage backs in the game. Then the Seattle game. We need a big play put the ball in the hands of the guy best suited to make the play care more about that than trying to fool the other team or trying to show your play call prowess. Know your personnel.
  3. I don’t know if it is a Daboll problem. And He has enough Godwill from last year - that was a major overachievement…thanks to some savvy one score wins. They’ve had a lot of injuries not just with Saquon and Dimes. Overall, It is not a very good roster…the Jets are IMO more talented and probably by a good margin too.
  4. Man I do. I haven’t truly followed a Michigan story like this is a long time. I’m probably 25 years into this rivalry I don’t know the heartbreak (OSU perspective) like others do, but I do know the self righteous smarter than all, ethical above all that the university up North displays often. The blasting OSU took when they sold gold pants for kicking their @ss…and the insults on Tressel for the way he handled things. There wasn’t a penalty harsh enough for OSU and Tressel. Or the poking fun at the “we didn’t come here to play school” shortly after a UM guy was toting an illegal firearm. Moving on…This doesn’t look like a good defense to me….the “well he was doing it too” defense…with your parents or in an adjudicative setting this defense probably works 5% of the time. If OSU or Rutgers is a co-conspirator or has their own elaborate scheme bring them forward too. But This isn’t a Rutgers hearing.
  5. Let me do an Andy impression Right City wrong team…the Giants are the absolute worst and it is so bad now they are almost forgotten by the New York media. The Giants Jets game a few weeks ago…an absolute train wreck that I had to sit through. The Jets had a slightly better grasp of offensive principles but what a terribly played game though. The Jets are bad too. I listen to NFL radio on my 100 minute car rides back and forth to work. The Jets usually consume about a quarter of that time each day. Bob Papa the Giants guy (given up on the Giants) mentions them at least every 10/15 minutes. Their offensive line is very shaky too. I have Garrett Wilson too in fantasy…I can’t stand Zach Wilson because of that and his play (mainly decision making) he is horrendous beyond the fantasy numbers. No pocket awareness. He Doesn’t slide away from pressure- he runs backwards and takes 15 yard losses. They are 5-3 maybe 6-2 if they would have gone out and gotten someone better than Zach Wilson- maybe 60 or so out there. Fantasy football this year I have Garrett Wilson who has a Zach Wilson problem. Bijan Robinson who has an Art Smith problem. Justin Fields who has offensive philosophy and injury problem. I’m lacking accountability because I thought I had damn good team this year.
  6. #3 I can’t even imagine what it would be like for the Joe Buck games. #1 looks good with some modifications Kicks- 1 point for 33 yard attempt - 2 points for 50. If you miss the attempt there is no kickoff and the other team takes over at the spot of the kick. Enhances safety less kickoffs. Two point conversion from the 3. Three point conversion from the 20.
  7. The problem is Half of the teams have a Wills type player at tackle they would like to replace next season. If you are good to solid tackle you are going get paid this coming offseason.
  8. Reminiscent of Tressel…the sooner you move on the better. You will attract a top candidate that will recruit better talent
  9. I find it hard to believe that Harbaugh and other key staff members knew nothing about stallions and this operation. Any functional football mind should realize these efforts were excessive and against the rules.
  10. great sport. Weight cutting was little excessive for those that wanted that. It is football and wrestling or both growing up in Ohio. Nowadays you get these dumb @ss HS football coaches that want potential wrestlers to weight train and skip wrestling. Stupid.
  11. I’m not trying to be Al Bundy…at 43 hell no. This was 23 years ago as a collegiate wrestler It is a pesky frustrating injury that requires rest…pain meds and a high tolerance for pain.
  12. I had a partial tear in mine….wrestling injury. When I gave it time to heal postseason (2 months no activity) I had a moments where it felt great…and then I’d throw something or put a milk jug in the fridge and it felt like a knife going in through the top of my shoulder. any workout I did I had extra strength Tylenol…and it felt great…then felt awful after it wore off for a good six months. One of the most frustrating injuries…but my pain threshold is high and the Tylenol masked the pain when I didn’t want to feel the pain. I don’t know if he can suck it up this year…he may have to….jobs are on the line.
  13. Disguised with CMU gear and sunglasses at night to spy on Michigan State. Nothing to see here… Everyone does that!
  14. I get this part…Tillman needs to play…DPJ was probably never in the fold after 2023. But Depth is always needed I think you could have still worked Tillman in the lineup regardless so for what is essentially a 7th round pick two drafts from now…C- on this trade. i predicted he was going to be dealt before the deadline during camp
  15. Hmmm…3rd and 3…a hunt run gets us 2 yards. 2 minute warning. 4th down a hunt run gets us the needed yard. Hawks use a TO. 1:55 left. First down Browns. Kneel down 1:50 last timeout used. Kneel down 1:15. Kneel down :30 seconds. Punt :22 seconds no timeouts for the Hawks. Buried deep. Hunt two tries for three yards. I like the analytics there given the circumstances and the flow of the game…Kevin still gets to be risky.
  16. Agree with you. And 24 points was five points too many. The coverage was way too soft that last drive…they needed 30 yards not 80 yards with no timeouts. I think most are pleased with the improvement on that side of the ball. I would argue some are oversimplifying the improvement. You can point to some additions Hurst, Tomlinson, Smith and Thornhill…but Myles is utilized in a more impactful way. Jordan Elliot looks like a new player, JOK has 9 TFLs. The defense unlike last year has had more signature moments and less collapses like the Two TD in two minute collapse against the Jets in 2022. Honest question…is there a player on that side of the ball from the 2022 squad that isnt performing as well as they did last year?
  17. Any analytics department that puts Our most effective short yardage back on the sideline the whole fourth quarter while being in 3rd and short throughout the quarter is broken. Try this for analytics…Ball in the hands of a QB with 51.8 QBR. What could possibly go wrong? He doesn’t execute a decent play design? Likely. He turns the ball over? possibly.
  18. What a painful ass game to watch (24 punts). I sat through it with my wife (Giants Fan). We were calling DeVito…Danny DeVito. Poor kid (local product) grew up not too far from the Meadowlands. Daboll was anti Stef, no trust whatsoever in throwing the ball. The kid had a few opportunities but not a lot. It was definately hanging on for a 10-7 game run the ball and get a chip shot to make it a 6 point game…Gano had other plans. not sure about Zack Wilson. I will say both of those guys don’t have the luxury of the offensive line that we have.
  19. True. And I didn’t like the cushion we were giving on the last drive. The Defense came out flat and put us in hole. Can’t forget that but we can’t have three turnovers and expect to win this game. I thought advantage in the trenches for us I would have rather seen a 3rd and 3 run - worst case you make them drive 90 yards
  20. Defense dug a hole. But we need Watson back. This was his best PJ effort and it’s not enough with the team we have around him.
  21. There is Geno again…trying to give gifts. Sorry I can’t stand the guy. The whole Eli streak years ago and his comments
