Bears, Dolphins and Bengals, amongst many others, are named after actual things.

But Gip tells me the Browns are named to honor a very specific person, but they're not sure who.

Actually, everyone knows who they're named for.

It's the guy who founded the Bengals

You missed, I think, my point. Not surprising, I guess, but I thought Kentucky had better schools than that.

Not trying to butt in here. ..well maybe I am... but you're geography isn't exactly a strong suit bro. Cincinnati is in Ohio not Kentucky.

Anyways, I'm afraid that geno Atkins is going to eat hoyer for lunch this Sunday! That Bengal front line is hungry!

I'm curious. What is your opinion on ginger QBs and the fact that they have never done anything in the NFL. Is it because they have no soul?

Just to clarify are we talking about weeden?

Surely not the bengals qb right? He has taken the bengals to the playoffs ( yes there is football in January) 2 straight years.

Too bad the vikings didnt have fans invading our board.

But honestly browns fans, a victory Sunday would be so huge to the team, but the Bengals are good. They are all around the most balanced team in the AFC north. There are a couple things bungles fans should watch out for though.

1.the d lines are both equal. Both teams have extremely talented front 7. I honestly think the edge goes to CLE with their LBs in Kruger, Jackson, Roberston, and Mingo (getting better every snap) they are faster than the Bengals lbs. the CLE d in general is faster than the Bengals.

2. BUT the Bengals have talent everywhere on offense. So what do we do? U do what the Bengals will do to Hoyer, blitz the shit out of Dalton. Make Dalton throw to win, take Bernard and Green Ellis completely out of the game with stuffing the run (CLE has #2 run defense in league)

3. dalton is the weak link, he sucks under pressure. Hes not a consistently accurate QB either. He could blow it for CIN by not getting the ball to the talented recievers. Hes not a great QB by any means. I could see the pass rush spelling pick six for both QBs, especially Dalton though.

4.Gordon and Cameron are studs, and will help the Browns on O. Hoyer is a game manager QB and if he stays turnover free and gets the ball out quick, browns have a chance, a good chance.

5. Its at Cleveland, and the Bengals are the Bengals.

Its gonna be a good one regardless.

What I want : 23-17 browns

What I expect to get: 23-16 bengals

That's where Mcgahee can make a huge difference. Picking up the blitz, and he looks pretty good at it. We keep Hoyer on his feet and he should be alright.

Cool! Much better than a half talent ginger QB. I see yahoo sports have bungholes missing playoffs. Sorry about your damn luck

Oh no not yahoo sports!! Whatever will we do?

I saw that every single major site on the internet has the clowns missing the playoffs. Sorry about your damn luck.

By the way, out of your two potiential starting qbs, one is a thirty year old second year ginger and the other is a bald career backup. They both suck fat balls.

Coached in Columbus....which is in the middle.

Coached at the Naval Acadamy...which is who knows where. Probably north. The Great Lakes Naval Academy is/was in Chicago

Coached in Cleveland...which is in the north.

Betrayed in Cleveland...which is in the north.

Founded NFL franchise in Cincy....which is in the south.

Head coached NFL franchise in Cincy....which is in the south.

Gave birth to the WCO before retiring in Cincy...which is in the south.

Actually, the WCO is essentially the same offense he utilized in Cleveland with Otto Graham running it. Walsh made a few minor modifications to it.

Oh...and FYI, it was Bernie Kosar who gave it the moniker West Coast Offense.

Named Grand Poobah until death in Cincy....which is in the south.

Paul Brown Stadium constructed in Cincy...which is in the south.

Born in Norwalk (north), Raised in Massillon (north), buried in Massillon (north)

Point being, Paul Brown played, coached, founded, and owned in many locations. Cleveland claims him as their own, but of all the places Brown coached it was Cleveland who betrayed him most. Most unforgivable, after firing him they betrayed him further by calling him too old and claimed the game had passed him by. Cast their lot with Modell, a pinhead mafioso in a camelhair coat. Watched as Paul Brown's earliest Bengal teams reacted to the loss of a franchise QB by giving birth to what would become known as the WCO, an offensive innovation that would revolutionize football for the next 25 years.

See above, he was running that offense here for most of his career. It just hadn't attained a catchy moniker.

....And note: It was PB who refused to have Walsh replace him as HC of the Bengals, opting for Bill "Tiger" Johnson instead.

For all his good....that was a bad move.

Yes, probably. But he wouldn't acknowledge that. (and FYI, he also "founded" the Browns....he was just not the " principal owner" of the Browns. And, FYI, see the trivia....PB was also not the principal owner of the Bengals either.

Sammy Baugh, Sid Luckman, Sonny Jurgenson were all redheads...and in the HOF.

And all of these guys were redheads:

Ramses the Great

Ghengis Khan

Cleopatra

Christopher Columbus

Mohamed

Jesus Christ

Lenin

Churchill

Van Gogh

Brigham Young

George Washington

Thomas Jefferson

Andrew Jackson

Eisenhower

and me.

Want to make something of it?

Yup, yup, yup.

Walsh said on may occasions that the WCO offense was little more than a Paul Brown playbook with a greater emphasis placed on timing, with QB's throwing to spots before the receiver had made his break. And again, those changes were prompted by an injury to Greg Cook that forced the Bengals to adapt using small ball QB's. Further, when Walsh suggested the change he gave Brown credit for embracing the shift without hesitation even though it placed greater responsibility on receivers to run precise routes and read defenses.

BTW, the WCO wasn't the only thing that was named by Bernie Kosar. Rumor has it he also picked out his daughters porn star name.

If you honestly think that, you're Retarded. There isn't one player on the browns line that would start on the bengals. The only LB that would is Jackson. Overrated by you all because it's the only part of your team worth a shit.

It shows that you're still a kid. You know nothing about football.

Every Bengal fan knows that.

When the Bengals were founded Paul Brown was granted full control of all football operations but just 2% of the shares. That said, each year he coached his contract allowed for his salary to be exchanged for additional shares and he was given right of first refusal to purchase additional shares whenever FIFO (First in, first out) investors cashed out. Those included the Cincinnati Enquirer and Proctor & Gamble. Thus, Browns share of team ownership grew steadily over the years, due to the opportunities to purchase ownership shares that were written into his contract with the Bengals. Finally, it was later learned a handshake agreement with principle shareholder Dutch Knowlton allowed the Brown family to gain majority shareholder status, and controlling interest, when Knowlton sold his shares to the Brown family at a fraction of their face value.

In short, Paul Brown was able to feather his family nest by doing what few thought was possible, by purchasing stock at every available opportunity whenever short-term short-sighted investors wanted to cash out, and then again when old friend Dutch Knowlton agreed to honor a past promise to the Brown family that actually denied the Knowlton estate of many millions of dollars, as his heirs loudly complained of.

Nutshelled, Paul Brown was a very smart man who surrounded himself in Cincinnati with honest men and investors. His experiences in Clevetucky had taught him the dangers that come from being in partnership with overleveraged miafioso types who built their fortunes by running cab companies, real estate scams, or most recently.....fraudulent fuel rebate schemes that scam millions of dollars.

I once knew a ninja, and he would give me the scores for football games. We will call him Rocky. Rocky was a smart guy, brilliant and from a wealthy ninja family in beautiful southern Ohio. He used to tell me of the horror that goes on in the mistake by the lake. This horror he was referring to? None other than the stains playing football. Or so they thought it was football. I recently called rocky and asked him for a prediction to this game. After clearing is throat he spoke with great confidence ;

Bengals - 32

Browns - 17
