Took over as GM for Kansas City after they went 2-14

Led them to 11-5, 9-7, 11-5, and 12-4

Was fired because he was a “go with the flow” guy, and “not very organized”

But was well-known for having an uncanny ability at knowing how to pick players

I’m in, a football guy who is good a picking players please and thank you

Dorsey's entire career is as a scout.  How will he make a judgement on players he doesn't personally scout? Will there be.... metrics?

If there are metrics used and those ratings are based on team consensus [which given everything we can find is what Dorsey is all about].... this is different than Sashi how, exactly? One fewer "s" in the name yields infinite wins?

It has been rumored that there are some GM/coach "package" deals that may be out there:

Pioli and Vrabel

Caserio and McDaniels.

 

Point is, these would be GMs/coaches that would be in sync.    Dorsey and Hue however?   Someone used the term:  shotgun marriage.

Sounds like Hue has convinced Jimmy he can coach, he just needs better players. 

Whoever they hire will agree to Hue as coach for 2018, and if the season goes south next year, Hue will be gone and the GM can hand pick his new coach.

Winning in 2018 will make a shotgun wedding work.

Then I would predict that Hue would be gone by the end of November next year.

Ok so if all the players suck (supposedly)... How is keeping hue gonna get them to buy into a program that they clearly have not bought into...???

I’m not saying I agree or disagree, I’m just attempting to read between the lines.

To answer your question, I believe Hue wants a competent QB who could win now (McCarron) while a younger QB who clearly isn’t ready (Kizer) could learn. Hue clearly lamented the botched trade, and according to MKC, Sashi and Hue haven’t been on speaking terms since then.

The power struggle between Hue and Sashi was over when we saw Hue and Jimmy talking to AJ McCarron before the Bengals game.

My guess is we sign AJ in the offseason and he starts. We draft a QB #1. He and Kizer fight it out for 2nd and 3rd string.

Hue has an experienced QB, no excuses for losing. If we go 6-10 or better, everyone is happy.

If not, the new GM picks a coach he wants for 2019.

Do we know the status of McCarron's suit to become an unrestricted FA?  Didn't his agent file a complaint against the NFL after the trade with us didn't go through?

Not  terribly impressive, though he did at least land Kelce, Peters, Morse, Conley, Hill, Jones and I guess toss in Ford.

Jesus, People usually fall in love with the guys they draft....at least they feel some loyalty to them.  So, does this mean that Hogan sticks around?

As I said in another thread- depends if he wins his grievance or not. UFA- maybe. RFA, and the Bengals slap a first round tender on him? No way in hell. Even Hue (at least I hope) isn't crack headed enough to give up the #1 overall (or at the very worst the #3) for McCarron.

The owner has guaranteed the 1-27 HC his job a month after trying to sign hs QB of choice. 

Any GM that now arrives is nothing but a patsy to the head coach. He may as well not even be here.

That or this is Holmgren/Heckert/Mangini all over again, and a season is wasted with a new front office keeping the existing head coach that was inevitably fired... We'll see...

I must have missed it. Show the article where Haslem said Hue will get McCarron no matter what? Not being snarky. I just haven’t seen anything to that effect.

John Dorsey was fired in June of 2017..about 2 months after Dorsey drafted McHolmes & Kareem Hunt..Soon after draft Andy Reid was not into Camp McHolmes move up & John Dorsey was cut loose. Am a fan of Alex Smith..not sure John Dorsey is..

Wow.

He fits my hope that the GM would come from a solid organization, as he made his bones with the Packers organization.
