Sorry guys. I'm not even married. I should have said "if." Will edit.

Honestly, I thought about pulling a Costanza and just accepting the condolences. LOL

You should have said nothing whatsoever. That was incredibly insensitive. Don't "fix" it with an "if". That does nothing. Delete it.

I'd say the odds of having another Parade next year approach  zero. Will just the parade affect our ability to sign free agents? That will be a minor factor, MHO. The 0-16 $hitshow will be 10X more important in guys minds about wanting to play here. Especially any top guys who not only want to get to the playoffs, but win a Super Bowl in their career.   I think LeBron got it right.

Sure, 0-16 is one thing, but a parade... I'd love to hear LeBron's response if somebody asked him if that would affect a FA decision... Obviously the record will stop the vets who want to win a SB from coming, but we need FAs who are a little younger and want their 1st big contract... coming off their rookie contract, and want to be starters w/ the chance to make a major impact on this team. Thats why we shop the 2nd string amd WR3s... these guys need an opportunity to prove themselves..

I honestly dont want any 3rd contract guys who only want a paycheck... ala Britt most recently,  and many others before him...

per some of the interviews - it seems that some of the fans showed up to say despite the no win season, they still wanted to come out to support their team and show they would never quit. Many others were just ridiculing the Browns for letting them down, etc etc etc.It was a disaster, in my book. The "parade" was a disgrace overall - the Browns have a lack of players to be competitive, not a desire to lose and disappoint the fans. Give the Browns a legit qb, wr's and a few db's....and the Browns are a very, very competitive, winning football team.

The parade was a loser. Mocking the last season was the last thing fans should have been doing.

That wasn't what the Parade was about. Of course the players tried as hard as they could to win a game or two- but they didn't. If they want to think the Parade was directed at their lack of effort- it's wrong.

Shelton made a good point. If this parade changes even 1 FA's mind about coming to Cleveland then these fans did themselves and the rest of us fans a major disservice.

We'll never know for sure, but this was an embarrassment that could make the FO's job even harder.  Regardless of the "intent" of the parade, you cannot change how others react to it. Players will see this and say "I don't want to go there and be embarrassed by those fans".

A lesson to you all (from a behavior specialist), you cannot chose how others perceive your actions. Same as what happened with the anthem protest.  You CANNOT choose others' interpretations.  If kneeling is disrespectful in somebody's opinion, telling them your "intent" does not make the action less disrespectful in that person's view. If a player views the parade as an embarrassment, you cannot change their opinion by saying it was about "passion" and "sticking it to the FO."  Sorry, just not how the world works...

Saying we should have a 0-16 parade is one thing, kind of funny; however, actually doing it was just stupid...

Fat boy Shelton should realize that maybe no free agents want to come because they don’t want bums like him for teammates.

I like that the city still cares. If Pittsburgh or Cincinnati had to endure what Browns fans have the past three years, there’d be no protest.  Patriots Jersey sales would just go through the roof.

I doubt it. You'd never see a Patsies jersey on anyone in Pittsburgh, unless they'd relocated from Boston.

Can't speak for Cincy though.

The band wagon would be prettty empty after four wins in three seasons...

Try defending your point. You can't. It was terrible.

Man, this parade has people just busting out some really, really awesome analogies!

Going to a parade for the 0-16 season is not only like mocking someone's hypothetical wife after she miscarries, but it's just like crucifying Jesus and, um, wow.

Yeah, I think we officially need to move on from this subject. It's gotten silly.

It's bad arguments such as yours that bring the analogies. You have yet to even come close to arguing how the analogy is not apt.

No. The components of the analogy are the same. There's someone/thing you love. There's a failure. And there's you mocking the person for it. Simple as that. Yes, family is tighter than a football team. Yes, a miscarriage is worse than 0-16. But the point stands that to mock someone you love to make yourself feel better about their failure is idiotic.

Do your future wife a favor. Don't propose until you've changed significantly. Try to explain this conversation to the women in your Sunday school class and listen to the reactions. Then maybe you will get my point.

Some people feel like they are the only sane person in a insane world. The truly insane are certainly a scary bunch.

True. If you remember when Cleveland lost the team in 1995 the public outcry was HUGE! Houston on the other hand had near zero public support when they lost the Oilers, there were more media at their rally than fans.

Public interest is important even with a 1-31 team effort.

Im glad they had the parade..

This organization sucks and the fans still stick by them..

What other winless teams get parades in their respective cities by diehard fans?

I think if they had concentrated more on the parade being a Protest of the deplorable condition of this team...it would have had more merit.   They did not emphasize that point of the parade enough.

Get Hue the fuyuck out of town....but not until he has been baptized in Lake Erie in January.

Get Jimmy the fuyuck out of town.   Make that trade where he gets the Tennessee Tits and leaves us alone....with whatever new owner he can trade with here.

That's a riot.  The FANS are scaring away FA's.   Man that's funny stuff.

I suppose it was the FANS that made Kyle Shanahan wash his hands of the Browns organization.......it was the FANS that drove Alex Mack away.  It's the FANS and this parade that have had potential draft picks stating they don't want to come to Cleveland.
