Here's an excerpt -

"

What I know is Barkley would be a playmaker who defensive coordinators would have to account for. And remember, the “running back” of today has to be a pass catcher and blocker as well as a runner. Barkley checks all of those boxes. One of the most balanced looks at Saquon Barkley that I’ve seen is this article from Pro Football Focus. I’ll let you decide for yourself.

Finally, Barkley would be one piece of an offense that now has Josh Gordon, Jarvis Landry, David Njoku, Duke Johnson and Hyde. He wouldn’t have to be the focal point right away. As the Cleveland Browns continue to take steps to rebuild the talent, and the culture of their team, the question is not whether they can afford to take Barkley. The question is how can they not?

Po doesn't listen to anything that could possibly tarnish his Golden Child. I don't much like Cowherd, but here's his take. and go to 2:24 of the video, if you don't want to listen to the whole thing...  https://www.ajc.com/sports/college/colin-cowherd-saquon-barkley-not-good-all-the-analysts-are-predicting/85HhD8tl96gGdl5CIbLPCM/

Same article- one of the comments,    Another Barkley Booster with a blog... Yawn...

"What I want the team to focus on is winning the SB (yes I know 0-16). The goal for every team is to win the SB not just a few games or make it to the playoffs. If the team isn't focused on the SB then the whole thing needs to change.

So yes Barkley might be the next Barry Sanders or LT but ask those guys if they would give up their single accomplishments for a SB win and I guarantee they say yes. So as good as having a solid run game is the two teams in the SB used RB by committee."

I don't want Saquon, not at 1 or 4.  I prefer a guy who does most of his running inside the tackles, and I don't see many of Saquon's "bounce outside" runs working in the NFL.  Now, before you get all upset, I'm NOT saying that Saquon can't run between the tackles, and I'm NOT saying he didn't grind out SOME tough yards that way, but I see him as more of a "higher end McCaffery" that went to the Panthers, instead of someone like Todd Gurley or Leonard Fournette.  Again, I could be wrong, as many people consider Saquon to be the best offensive (or best period) in the draft.  I, on the other hand, do not.  Just an opinion.  He's certainly got the power, but the guy just had so many games where he appeared to get bottled up, ya know?  I realize that other teams were probably gearing up just to stop him, but still...I heard a stat on the radio that said Saquon failed to get over 100 yards rushing in 60% of his games as a starter.  I have not verifed this stat, and have no idea if it's valid, so again, don't rip my head off.  However, if it's true, I wonder how it compares to some of the other RB's taken in the top ten over the past few years.

More to my liking is someone such as Guice from LSU.  He runs angry and hard, and he's the type of guy I think would work well for us.  Bottom line is, I believe we'll have our choice of guys to select when our three second rounders come up, and THAT'S where I want to take my RB.

Fertile area for RBs, but also fertile for other positions, e.g, WR, CB, DT, S... positions where the roll-off is much sharper IMO than it is at RB.

Like I told Ghoolie- Zumba Dancer. NFL teams already have Saquon scouted, they'll take away his outside rushing lanes- force him to run inside where Adrian Peterson he ain't. Saquon? SAY-YAWN.

Zumba dancer that won't be anywhere near as effective in the pros. All it will take is one hit when he's got his knees hyper extended on those cuts- and it's IR.

So....

Everything resolved?

Not sure Tour, we keep pitching, but Po's not catching. The fair & balanced video (that I actually bothered to watch) showing why he got stuffed against Ohio State should clue him in Saquon is not Superman. Go ahead and dance- POW. For a supposed "elite" RB, he sure can be tackled- with ease- by one guy. Peterson is\was way better in the YAC department. Jim Brown was on a completely different level. Jim could run over five defenders, and carry a guy on his back 10 yards into the end zone.  :)

Btw, all that jumping Saquon does will kill him dead in the pros.

Yes, it makes you a great target to get buried!

lol... different era... Jim was as big as many linemen.

Fair enough. Since Saquon has that speed and elusiveness,  add in the size & power of Christian Okoye, then we can talk about how incredibly great SB will be in the pros.  :)

Saquon will find out dancing is less effective in the pros, when quite a few of those defenders are as fast as you are.

The 11 trying to stop 1 era, great times to be a Cleveland Browns fan. #32 was a freak averaging 5 ypc.

Christian Okoye

He was never the same after he met Mr. Atwater.

It's not in this audio... and it may not have been this hit (mind's eye has it close to the goalline), but I remember Atwater screaming, "Are you cryin' baby? Are you cryin'?"

I loved Atwater in Denver. One of the greatest hitters of all time, any position. Right up there with Ronnie Lott and Troy Polamalu when compared to hard hitting safeties.

Polamalu was not that hard of a hitter. He really wasn't.  It just looked that way because he was always flying around with his stupid hair.  Oh..he was good...he could make tackles....by grabbing people...and he could get into position to make those grabby tackles....but as a hitter?  Not so much.  TJ Ward was a harder hitter. Eric Turner was a harder hitter.  Ed Reed of the Ravens was a harder hitter.  No need to even mention a guy like Jack Tatum or Atwater or Lott....that may be going back a bit further.

And after the rule changes imposed yesterday....it will be Polamalu's grabby style that will be the proper method to tackle if you don't want to get penalized.  It will be the hard hitters that will have to changer their ways.
