I can’t see them keeping just 3 TEs and 1 FB.

I think we could see a surprise trade as well…I’m thinking a DT and/or WR and honestly it could be anyone in those two groups aside from OBJ, Landry and DPJ

PR  (D. Peoples-Jones) (D. Felton) (J. Natson)

Thoughts: Defensive Line is the most fluid situation. They act like McKinley is coming back soon and will resume his position ... but we are in the dark on that one. I gotta put Joe Johnson on the roster now and the DT talent may not be great, but it is deep. I can't justify keeping Toga Toga anymore, the other guys are out there making plays, hard to sneak a 4th round pick to the practice squad, so amybe he gets "injured". Elliot was out there in garbage time, but he did make a nice snack so they are probably not going to give up on their own draft pick.

A "guy named Blake" started at center, and that may spell the end for Nick Harris.

I'm still only carrying three TEs, so something is gonna give there, but I'm not adding fan favorite Johnny Stanton yet.

He was having a good camp and will have a role when he gets healthy.

Ward and Newsome will start outside and Hill inside. A.J. Green has a real chance to step up as the 4th corner while Greedy is out, but I expect Greedy will grab that Job when he's healthy.

Z

Agree, but like your last sentence said "when he's healthy" it's been a while, and looking at his past history, doesn't project well. Hope I'm wrong.

I think the aim (possibly) is to have Stanton play some TE if he’s needed there.  He split out and ran a skinny post Sunday- didn’t look out of place doing it, he can play FB too (he ran the ball well last week), he appears to be a good blocker.  You may even scheme a play where he throws the ball he was 4 Star Dual threat college QB recruit.

How is he on special teams?  I haven’t tracked that too much this preseason.

can't fault Felton or Davion Davis playing well

what I'm seeing going into PS3 Falcons ..

Edit-- Guys, I saw only the 1st Browns drive up to KaDarel Hodge catching TD on 1st drive.. Wife got call & we transported her father to Hospital Sunday. Her Father was pronounced dead at 7:15 pm Sunday :(.. Funeral is today at 11 am.. 82 years of great life..My greatest fishing pal..

need-less to say.. I've not posted, after the game & can't find myself finishing watching the Giants game... Hope to swing back in after the Atlanta game..

Malik McDowell would be my 1st man in..Can swing DT to Edge../ He needs starting reps in Atlanta to be tested..

K.Hodge/Natson /D.Davis.. Davis is now suspended 2 games.. should help Browns getting to PS? (will not count towards 53 until game 3.. Hodge would bump Schwartz if IR'd? I'm slotting Felton in Hodge's slot for now..

D.Forbes could be 10th lineman kept? More upside still than Nick Harris imo..

Mack Wilson needs a huge game in Atlanta..

In's that might fall out? or upgrade? Jano/ Stanton (gameday inactive one)/ MJ Stewart/ E.Lee

I notice that everyone keeps listing Odell Beckham Jr as one of the starting wide receivers.

Are all of you ignoring the wise words of a certain poster who has been guaranteeing he would be traded any day now for like two years now? 😉

I too have noticed his play.  But a lot of his highlights came late in the two games......against the future pizza makers.  Still, he caught the balls.  And I think Stef likes TE's and wants to have 4.  So Stanton will have to beat out Franks.

I don’t have a lot of expectations for the 4th TE.  Our 4th TE has caught 6 passes the last two years.  I think I’m leaning toward Stanton because of the versatility which can come into play during any game this Sunday if someone goes down - catch, carry, block, play special teams, maybe be in trick play (pass).

A good veteran blocking tight end will get cut and we will pick him up.

I said that already....and was told, NO, it's 7 because he caught an onside kick between his legs.  :)

Stef brought in Stanton last year, and cut him.  I think he'll be cut and told to stay in shape again this year.  We'll either keep Franks or go Zombo's route and pick up a blocking TE after roster cuts.

This has got to be coming soon.. I see no upside on keeping Franks..But Stanton might see his last chance...

I'm not trading a guy like K.Hodge for a TE4. and Berry certainly won't overpay for one neither (twitter can stop with the Ertz/OJ Howard talk).. A blocking TE, that plays ST's & Carlson was on the front line of the hands team on kickoffs..I have not seen one including Franks nor Stanton fielding onside's kicks.. Might be something to watch for in Atlanta? Is Stanton or Franks out there if/when it matters on kickoffs?

Well, the cuts have started and Franks is on the list....plus Redwine, Natson, Lauletta, Weaver, Wilson, Scales.....so, no surprises yet

I wonder if there’s a strategy to cutting some guys before others? Like you hope other teams will claim your first wave of the waived with the hopes that they’ll fill their roster and not have room for your later cuts thus allowing you to get those guys onto your practice squad.

though I'm hoping they resign Lauletta to the practice squad.. He looked decent enough to be QB #3.

Ya, I would think that guys you want to put on your practice squad, and guys that might have some trade value you are going to hold onto longer.

I’m all but certain that shouldn’t be an issue. He showed some flashes but certainly nothing that would get a team to sign them to their 53 man roster.

same with Franks, Natson, and Weaver. Could Redwine go to practice squad or is he not eligible based on amount of games played? I’m still pretty confused on the new practice squad rules.

I've been hoping that our DL room would get good enough such that everyone was better than him.  Hope he catches on somewhere.

Felton being drafted was always bad for Natson.  I kinda' liked him last year.  And last year was his year to shine...but he couldn't...he got hurt.

.....gonna be a sleepless night for a lot of guys tonight.
