It's no secret; 11 wins will be needed. The Colts have the Texans, Steelers and Jaguars remaining. They should, at worst, go 2-1 and could go 3-0. The Dolphins have the Patriots, Raiders and Bills remaining. 2-1, 1-2, it probably won't matter. The Ravens have the Jaguars, Giants and Bengals. They will go 3-0. The Raiders have the Chargers, Dolphins and Broncos. They will probably go 2-1. If they go 3-0 in my scenario, then the Dolphins go 1-2, which won't be enough to get in. The Browns, Colts and Ravens are duking it out for 5, 6 and 7 and the Browns have the least margin of error. The Steelers have the Bengals, Colts and Browns. Barring disaster, they will go 1-2. 12-4 wins them the Division. If they happened to go 0-3 and the Browns and Ravens each go 3-0, all three teams would be 11-5. The Steelers would have swept the Ravens, the Ravens would have swept the Browns and the Browns and Steelers would have split. Where does it go then? The Browns cannot take the Jets and Giants for granted.

I feel like an idiot. Duh, on Warren Moon. As far as Eli, I was figuring he was at 98 or 99. It always seemed like he was 8-8 or 9-7. Rivers has been playing nearly 20 years, that should have been obvious. Matt Ryan is a surprise, but he's nipping on Rivers in terms of longevity. Matt Ryan making this list is like Matt Stafford and Sam Bradford (probably) making the Top 17 best paid QBs of all time. They were each in that 2-3 year sweet spot, throw Jamarcus Russell in there, of getting a $70-$72M rookie contract.

I guess, on the bright, it's only five more regular season games, maximum, that he can line up against the Browns. On the flip side of that, will Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham see the entirety of that contract in Browns' uniforms?

Forgive my ignorance. On social media I'm seeing there's a stream on Browns.com for the Browns/Ravens. Can anyone give insight as to the cost or requirements? Thank you in advance.

Priorities have changed, no doubt. And it's not just playing video games and not playing outside. It seems teams are followed less and players and apparel companies are followed more. Did young kids really like the Cavs or do they like Lebron James? I understand in world of four year max deals that's likely to be the case, but few have team loyalty. They aren't moved by team highlights and are more inclined to watch a Sports Center Top 10 of a specific player. Loyalty changes like the flavor of the week based on uniforms, social media and apparel maker. And remember, unlike in real life, if something happens on the video games someone can just jump up and turn off the console like it never happened so that the perfect game can never be ruined.

You don't have to agree with my politics. I don't have to agree with yours. The Browns have brought us together. We can get politics anywhere; that's the unfortunate way of the world. I don't like that the mob mentality overtaking everything. With that said, I read in either a CBSSports or Yahoo Sports article that someone suggested The Code Talkers and I thought that name was awesome! What those men did for this Nation and the honor it would pay to them could not be argued. I have also read Redtails, which would be in honor of another group of courageous men that served.

My Great-Grandpa's family landed in Baltimore like many other Jewish Slavs, made their way to Pittsburgh and settled in Albion, PA south of Erie. He worked on the railroad and was the first to take my Grandpa to the city on a train to watch the Browns and Indians. My Grandpa was born in 1938, so he had the thrills of the Paul Brown juggernaut teams of the 1940s and 50s and the Jim Brown era. My Dad was born in 1960 and lived the Kardiac Kids, I was born in 1982, the Schottenheimer through Belichick Browns were my everything. We moved to Central Indiana in 1984. Dad was one of the first of all of his uncles and cousins that didn't work in the mills, foundries or tool and dye shops of NW PA. We watched football every Sunday, but the Browns were never on until the playoffs. The in game updates back then were absolute treats. My Grandma would occasionally record games with the VCR and send them to us and we had a Browns' News/Illustrated subscription. And that's how we got our Browns' information! I'd sit at the kitchen table and immerse myself in that thing. That periodical was truly a gem. Every time the Browns played in Indianapolis we would go and it seemed in the late 80's, early 90's that was a yearly event. The Colts were absolute trash then and many years the Brownies wore their Brown on White uniforms and our fellow Browns' fans traveled so well that those games always felt like Browns' home games. After the game, my Dad would take us down to the player-family area right by the loading docks where the team buses parked. We were in Heaven. We met and received autographs from our Heroes - Bernie, Clay Matthews, Steve Everitt, Eric Metcalf, Ozzie Newsome, Kevin Mack, Ernest Byner, Michael Dean Perry, Pepper Johnson, Mike Caldwell, Vinny, Bill Belichick, Tom Tupa, Leroy Hoard, James Jones, Michael Jackson, Antonio Langham and Eric Turner to name a few. My Dad had a pretty good relationship with a guy that ran a local watering hole and a couple times in the early 90's, I got to go to the bar with Dad to watch some games. He'd order a couple appetizers and we'd sit in the corner and watch the Browns on satellite, which was a huge deal. I remember a few games of note being televised locally, it was sporadic: the Monday Night win vs the 49ers, an opening day loss in NE, Metcalf taking two punts back vs the Steelers and the win in Dallas in '94. On Thanksgiving weekend 1994, we finally got a chance to see the Browns play in Municipal Stadium, I came remember not wanting to leave after the game. They beat the Oilers 39-24. It was awesome and my brother, fours year younger, and I soaked up the experience. Just being around passionate Browns fan that I knew had cheered and screamed as loud as we had and cried like we had until there was nothing in the tank was fulfilling. Oddly enough, a family in front of us did not stand for the National Anthem and the guys around us in Carhartts and the old Orange hard hats let the man of the family know how he felt. Words were exchanged, the guy in the hard hat rolled up his program and hit the man that sat on the head a couple times. He had plenty of words. The family left immediately never to return. The last two decades have been no different as far as our love. However, my outlook has changed from that of a starry-eyed boy ever the optimist, to a man that questions making the same decisions and expecting a different result. We were raised and have remained steadfast Browns fans in the darkest four decades of the franchise. My brother is out East, he's still a die-hard Browns fan. My sister is out West, she's still a Browns fan. My mom, raised in a Steeler home, is a Browns fan and Dad and Grandpa are still going strong. Even my little girls who cheer for "Daddy's Team" are Browns fans.

I am a capitalist. If that is what the market brings, good for him. I'm not the owner, I don't have to pay him. Good for me. I'm not the GM, I don't have to figure out how to navigate the rest of the roster. Good for me. I'm not a fan. I don't have to figure out the metrics of whether or not this will be regarded as successful. Good for me. The NFL just jumped to the front of the line in player salaries. Good for the NFL. Will the NBA or MLB be ready to rustle up a BILLION DOLLAR contract in the next decade? That number seems so high right now. But we went from $300M MLB contracts over a decade to $180M NBA contracts over four years to half a billion dollar NFL contracts in just a decade, so it's probably not that out of the realm of possibility. Still, assembling a team around one individual getting paid is a hefty task. The Colts tried it and it didn't work with Peyton Manning. The Patriots have done the exact opposite and have won six Super Bowls in two decades. If I'm a Chiefs fan, I'm not a fan of this deal.

The difference between people that have angry words for kneelers and the actions of people that destroy businesses, burn properties, tear down statues and vandalize neighborhoods and city blocks is night and day.

"If you're not with us you're against us" is a forced dilemma. It's a fallacy that drives an individual to a side. Silence does not equal violence, and to shove that down anyone's throat is misguided and wrong. If Baker wants to kneel there's nothing anyone can do about it. If Baker wants to stand, the social media mob will come after him and shame him for being a bigot. Shaming him to a knee is as tyrannical as forcing individuals believe this is a two-sided issue.

I believe the seven team playoff can and will begin right away. Three games each Saturday and Sunday on Wildcard Weekend and two games each Saturday and Sunday on Divisional Weekend - which is no change, obviously. I believe the 17 game regular season will commence in 2021 and will shave the preseason down to three games. In the seasons when teams get nine home games, I predict they teams will play one home preseason game. When they have eight home games they will play two preseason games at home. 10 total home games between preseason and regular season and part of the symmetry mentioned is maintained.

My concern for her in this position would be the same for any female in this position - no matter her looks, voice, haircut or sexual orientation - the respect factor. I didn't read all the links in the thread, but if this is a true chief of staff position then this individual is the gateway to the HC. That means not everything gets to the head coach from the staff but everything from the head coach gets to the staff, that means juggling egos on the staff, mediating, counseling both the head coach and the staff and commanding the room when needed. Does the staff need a chief? I thought that was the head coaches job. Here's a real world scenario the Browns faced in the last two seasons: Todd Haley, the OC with a 20 year NFL resume, and Gregg Williams, the DC with a 30 year NFL resume, could not stand each other. They got chippy in practice. They got chippy on Hard Knocks. We can only imagine the the verbal exchanges not seen once the cameras left and the losing started. The chief of staff would mediate through disagreements with those two. How would that have gone? According to Browns.com, I did see she was an assistant coach high in school football as late as 2017. Imagine the cynicism from this board if the Browns hired a 30 year old man that two and a half years previous was an assistant coach and algebra teacher. I remember cynicism towards Mike Pettine and he had nearly 15 years of NFL experience since leaving North Penn when the Browns hired him. From my standpoint, looks, hair, voice, and sexual preference do not matter. She will have the respect of ownership - they have no choice, she will have the respect of the Front Office - they will have no choice. I hope she has the respect of the staff and the locker room, or this will go nowhere. And, much like my opinion of the Browns' structure when it comes to the chain of command, the more layers added complicate the burden of responsibility and finding the root cause of problems.
