  1. It's amazing that all the bitching and griping by the NFLPA about training camp; therefore, virtually no training camp, no contact, and the increased rules favoring player safety and teams have more contact injuries than ever. And with all of the advancements in sports science and the increase of performance over the last 20 years and non-contact injuries seem to be higher than ever.
  2. 30 years ago, at the height of SportsCenter kid-dom, I knew most players on the board and everyone drafted in the first 4-5 rounds. Today, I couldn't name 2 or 3 players from my favorite college team in the draft.
  3. Peter King is saying it could be the Browns playing the Eagles Week 1 in Brazil. I've got mixed emotions. It's nice to be recognized for that Prime Time slot. I don't want distractions and hoopla. I just want to win.
  4. Kind of makes me think our next left tackle could already be in the building. Let Wills play his natural RT position, or (assuming Conklin is coming back and will be good to go) have Wills play some H-Back, send him in motion. I'm a fan of three OT formations. It worked well for the Lions. If Conklin doesn't come back. Then Wills can have a shot as the man at RT.
  5. Bear with me on this comparison. Simone Biles, the greatest gymnast in history, gets scored differently than the other gymnasts against whom she competes. Her scores are weighted. When she performs a routine she is scored harder than other gymnasts that perform the same routine. I admire Myles holding it together with one shoulder. I also agree when the defense needed him most late in the season, he did not come through. With that being said, he earned DPOY. He is the most disruptive defensive player in the game. No single player draws more double and triple teams and no player is held more than Myles. Because of his abilities, teams scheme against him and officials level the playing field by not calling when he is held like they would call for other players.
  6. Potential Trade Suggested I think part of this is Tannenbaum trying to make some headlines to start the off-season. I'm not even sure what I think. DW did go 6-1 as a starter last year no matter how big of an albatross his contract is around the neck of the Browns.
  7. I believe that's for an on the field incident. I hope I'm wrong. Some thought the unsportsmanlike conduct that resulted in the $35,000 fine at Pittsburgh might be a suspension that would void the contract since it was on the field.
  8. As a child of the 80s, I had no idea who Alex Karras was, but I knew George (and Ma'am).
  9. It cost Bernie his job with the Browns...
  10. The NFL has a problem. Far too many question it's integrity. The untapped financial frontier of the new found Taylor Swift fans only facilitates further doubt. Additionally, the for me but not for thee aspect of gambling is mind-boggling. Partnering with FanDuel, DraftKings and BETMGM and deluging the fanbase with fantasy football and online gambling and sports sportsbooks while treating anyone accused of gambling like a leper is hypocritical.
  11. I remember Nantz pointing out that Wilks was overruled.
  12. @Flugel @tiamat63 interesting points both, and I'm in 100% agreement. Looks like Shanahan is throwing a temper tantrum. I'd say this falls squarely on Shanahan. I can't see Lynch reaching over the top and demanding this call be made. Especially, since he's a GM that would know good defensive play.

Seeing this list got me thinking about Michael Dean Perry - 5x All Pro, 6 Pro Bowls and 1989 AFC Defensive Player of the Year, 500+ tackles, 60+ sacks and more tackles for loss that aren't sacks than Cortez Kennedy, Warren Sapp, John Randal, Bryant Young and Aaron Donald. That looks like a Hall of Fame resume.

Pretty cool walk down memory lane. If not for the Browns News/Illustrated, I wouldn't know those names.
  15. Wilks Out as DC in SF Just this morning, Shanahan said he expected all coaches to be back. They held the Chiefs to 19 points in regulation in the Super Bowl. ...and many here thought the firing of AVP was knee jerk.
  16. Of course, we're (I'm) overthinking it. But the NFL, in my most humble opinion, is underthinking it and has been since 1958. I don't like sudden death for a Team game (mostly) dependent upon having possession of the ball to score. I also don't like OT one way during the regular season and another way during the playoffs.
  17. Super Bowl 59 – Feb. 9, 2025: Caesars Superdome – New Orleans, LA Super Bowl 60 – Feb. 8, 2026: Levi’s Stadium – Santa Clara, CA Super Bowl 61 - Feb. 14, 2027: SoFi Stadium - Inglewood, CA Then the regulars: Miami, Tampa, Houston, Phoenix Then then the past: Atlanta, Dallas, the Rose Bowl That's the next 10 years of possibilities. Now, look at the potentials: London and Frankfort I'm not for it, but it's hard to see it not happening. Push the game back an extra week to allow for time zone change and make it the Sunday before President's Day. I can't imagine it not being part of the NFL's thought process.
  18. It would equally force both sides to be aggressive.
  19. I agree. Let's take the kicking out of it. No FGs. No going for two. Man up and move the ball. Man up and stop the ball from moving.
