  1. In my opinion, it's impossible to compare and each were the best of their era.
  2. I'm pretty green. I've been to Three Rivers, the Hoosier Dome, Municipal Stadium and Lucas Oil Stadium. My opinion isn't desirable. To me, Municipal Stadium was like walking on the streets of gold. I know, I know. Buy to a boy whose universe revolved around the Browns, it was the place where my heroes played and where Legends lived forever. The Hoosier Dome was great because it was LOUD...couldn't even hear yourself think loud in the late 90's and 2000s. Lucas Oil Stadium is cavernous. Almost too much. The field is in a bowl below street level. Entrance to the stadium takes place at the top of the first level. There is no experience whether it's HS or the NFL. It's just a big barn. Three rivers was the antithesis geometric sight lines. It's sort of like those seats at Fenway that face center field. Lots of twisting and turning to see little action, far away. I'm no help because I've only been in one modern stadium, and I don't care for it. And it cost $1B and we just finished paying off the Hoosier Dome.
  3. As a proponent of an outdoor stadium, here are biggest upsides of an indoor stadium: Big 10 Football Championship Game MAC Football Championship Game College Football National Championship Game Super Bowl Big 10 Men's Basketball Conference Tournament College Basketball Final Four Big 10 Wrestling Tournament NCAA Wrestling National Championship USA Wrestling National Championships USA Wrestling World Team Trials Wrestling World Championships USA Swimming National Championship Swimming World Championships USA Swimming Olympic Trials Monster Jam, which in a football stadium is awesome compared to the smaller footprint of a basketball arena Conventions and Trade Shows Concerts in the winter and spring
  4. I'm dating myself, but wasn't that the intention of the Gateway Project? My grandparents took me to Gund Arena before we went to an Indians' game at Jacob's Field. I recall there was a mall connected to Gund Arena. I know indoor malls aren't what they were in the 20th Century, but is it still there? My guess is restaurants, shopping, multi-plex cinemas, Topgolf, breweries, events venues, etc.
  5. I don't like tax payers paying for stadiums either. As it relates to the stadium what's parking like near the current stadium? Does this site allow for more parking near the stadium? Better tailgate opportunities?
  6. I'd rather they be played in the elements as well. I want an outdoor stadium. I'm not so much worried about a Super Bowl as I am a great game day Browns' experience.
  7. Haslam Buys Land in Brook Park I have been critical of Jimmy Haslem. He's earned it. But it's great to see that he is making major moves for the future of the Browns. My connections to Cleveland are as a fan. I'm not emotionally tied to the area around the stadium. If a new stadium in the suburbs creates a better fan experience I'm all for it. I'm interested in hearing what you guys think of a new stadium in the suburbs vs a renovated stadium at the current site. If this is a push to get a Super Bowl what are the current infrastructure and logistics of Brook Park? Restaurants? Hotels? I know the airport is nearby. I've only flown out of Cleveland twice and haven’t been to that area in 30 years. Every time we visit family in PA, we drive and I'm hopping off 71 onto 271 so I don't get that far north to see everything. I really look forward to hearing what you guys have to say?
  8. Pretty wild that he interviewed for an OC job and ended up with the OL job. I wonder if.... When he interviewed for the OC job, the Browns knew Bill Callahan was going to Tennessee. If he is getting OC type pay or position pay. My concern is now that he has interviewed for an OC job, after next season he would again start interviewing for OC jobs and the Browns are back to square one.
  9. My comment was in jest. The only thing worse than a sleazebag is a sleazebag that believes they can make us think they are not a sleazebag.
  10. Scott Peters is heading to New England with AVP. I'd be reaching out to Mike Munchak.
  11. I guess even quality human beings enjoy a slow jack and a ball rub.
  12. But the stadium looked full, so the NFL will leverage it's popularity.
  13. The highlights I saw made it look like Field Day on the last day of school. Races, obstacle courses, tug of war...
  14. Like the sneering Grinch, but instead of his heart being two sizes too small, I fear his ability to critically think how his contract has hamstrung the Browns is two sizes too small.

    Senior Bowl

They've got to find a way to keep Wyatt Teller.
  16. I don't want anybody fired. This is the most stability the organization has had in three decades from a front office and coaching staff perspective, and the best roster since the 80s. I don't know how the flow of things go in the locker room. In front of the cameras and on social media, guys are always happy their teammates get paid. Here's what I do know, Watson has been paid $65,021,000 the last two seasons and has played 12 games. He's slated to make $54,993,000 in 2024, 2025 and 2026. I don't want animosity to grow in the locker room because of his contract vs what the team is able to do as a result of that contract.
  17. I guess Watson needs to figure out if he wants to be like Peyton Manning was 20 years ago and gobble up so much of the team's salary cap that nobody else can be signed and, therefore, he under achieve every year OR he needs to take a page out of Tom Brady's play book and restructure his contract to benefit the team so that Super Bowls can be won. He can't be so tone deaf that he doesn't recognize this. We still have a week and a half left in the 2023 season and he's already shaping up to be the biggest pariah of the 2024 season.
  18. And another thing regarding Watson and Berry. Watson saying he wants Tee Higgins is pretty rich, given he's one side and, therefore, half the reason the Browns are hamstrung with his contact. If I'm Berry, I'm contacting Watson and letting him know that the deal needs to be restructured because there are some significant signings the Browns either have coming up or might need to make. Berry needs to put the ball in Watson's court, yesterday.
  19. This is not a defense of Jimmy Haslam. I agree from the Playoff thread the Browns inadequacies start with him. The following is something I've started to believe. The DS trade was Haslam trying, rather poorly, to show the fans he's all in. It was his attempt to try to prove to the city, the organization, the worn down and heartbroken base that's he's willing to do what it takes to be a winner. The way that trade was executed was piss poor, but they'd say we gave an effort and put it on the line. Al Lerner "helped bring" (he also helped take) football back to Cleveland. Randy Lerner never cared for owning the team, and cashed out when he could. Jimmy Haslam looks like a rich kid trying to fit in and the horribly over-leveraged trade for a one-time MVP is his bright shining example.
  20. I felt better after the Cowboys meltdown against the Packers, now I feel like I'm walking on sunshine. Lions fans are going to be homicidal for the next seven months.
  21. KCs gotta be wishing they'd have taken that FG in the second quarter instead of trying to convert the 4th Down.
  22. I think it's typically a knee-jerk reaction by teams and fans in emotional amd high pressure situations where the call doesn't go there way. In KC in 2021, I was one of those fans, once I calmed down I remembered that it's been a rule my entire life and longer.
