  1. As a child of the 80s, I had no idea who Alex Karras was, but I knew George (and Ma'am).
  2. It cost Bernie his job with the Browns...
  3. The NFL has a problem. Far too many question it's integrity. The untapped financial frontier of the new found Taylor Swift fans only facilitates further doubt. Additionally, the for me but not for thee aspect of gambling is mind-boggling. Partnering with FanDuel, DraftKings and BETMGM and deluging the fanbase with fantasy football and online gambling and sports sportsbooks while treating anyone accused of gambling like a leper is hypocritical.
  4. I remember Nantz pointing out that Wilks was overruled.
  5. @Flugel @tiamat63 interesting points both, and I'm in 100% agreement. Looks like Shanahan is throwing a temper tantrum. I'd say this falls squarely on Shanahan. I can't see Lynch reaching over the top and demanding this call be made. Especially, since he's a GM that would know good defensive play.

Seeing this list got me thinking about Michael Dean Perry - 5x All Pro, 6 Pro Bowls and 1989 AFC Defensive Player of the Year, 500+ tackles, 60+ sacks and more tackles for loss that aren't sacks than Cortez Kennedy, Warren Sapp, John Randal, Bryant Young and Aaron Donald. That looks like a Hall of Fame resume.

Pretty cool walk down memory lane. If not for the Browns News/Illustrated, I wouldn't know those names.
  8. Wilks Out as DC in SF Just this morning, Shanahan said he expected all coaches to be back. They held the Chiefs to 19 points in regulation in the Super Bowl. ...and many here thought the firing of AVP was knee jerk.
  9. Of course, we're (I'm) overthinking it. But the NFL, in my most humble opinion, is underthinking it and has been since 1958. I don't like sudden death for a Team game (mostly) dependent upon having possession of the ball to score. I also don't like OT one way during the regular season and another way during the playoffs.
  10. Super Bowl 59 – Feb. 9, 2025: Caesars Superdome – New Orleans, LA Super Bowl 60 – Feb. 8, 2026: Levi’s Stadium – Santa Clara, CA Super Bowl 61 - Feb. 14, 2027: SoFi Stadium - Inglewood, CA Then the regulars: Miami, Tampa, Houston, Phoenix Then then the past: Atlanta, Dallas, the Rose Bowl That's the next 10 years of possibilities. Now, look at the potentials: London and Frankfort I'm not for it, but it's hard to see it not happening. Push the game back an extra week to allow for time zone change and make it the Sunday before President's Day. I can't imagine it not being part of the NFL's thought process.
  11. It would equally force both sides to be aggressive.
  12. I agree. Let's take the kicking out of it. No FGs. No going for two. Man up and move the ball. Man up and stop the ball from moving.
  13. As long as the draw of Taylor Swift is attached to the Chiefs, they will be the League and Media Broadcast Partner darlings. In inescapable. I also think the preferred treatment is inexcusable. But I give them credit, in 11 years they've gone from picking #1 to winning 3 Super Bowls in five years. And they've done it with two different WR/RB combos. I'm not sure of their cap situation. I'm not sure Chris Jones will be back, but I don't expect significant roster shake ups and all the HC positions have been filled so they'll have minimal turnover. It's amazing how in five years, they've gone from likeable underdogs against the Patriots to THE most hated team in the league. I don't recall a small market team or a team from flyover country, in any sport, as hated. And people are starting to experience Kelce fatigue. Now the pressure mounts, there's never been a Super Bowl Three-Peat and you'd better believe the league offices would not be heartbroken if it was Kansas City and all the cross marketing they can get from Taylor Swift fans jumping on the Chiefs bandwagon.
  14. I understand. I also think it gets convoluted when Regular Season OT and Post Season OT aren't the same because post season games can't end in a tie.
  15. ESPN Sorry, my Mom asked about my favorite SB Halftime Show. She was unimpressed with last night. As many were.
  16. Some 49ers Players Didn't Know OT Rules If a team doesn't know the rules they don't deserve to win. And on the other hand, Sudden Death was a poor rule. Sudden Death with the chance to match is a poor rule. This can be easily solved with putting the ball at the other team's 40 and forcing teams to match scores. What say you?
  17. The 49ers folded in nearly the same manner as the Bills, on their last drive, and the Lions.
  18. It seems like the 49ers let us in those last 9 seconds expecting the Chiefs to kick the FG.
  19. Here's to being able to say the Brownies beat this year's Super Bowl Champs!
  20. The NFL falls short at many things but this tribute done before the Suoer Bowl a few years ago is one of my favorites. The chills start at the 2:10 mark... NFL 100 Team These are childhood dreams.
