The linebacker spot overall worries me more than any part of the team, offense or defense.

Me too. I would LOVE to see us sign Clay III as an experienced, still productive player/mentor. It would be one helluva PR move in Cleveland too.

  2. I followed him in college & WAY preferred Chubb over Sony Michel.

Brown's RBs? Chubb needs to play awhile longer, but (IMHO) he's a step above Byner & has the potential to move closer to the Leroy Kelly & Jim Brown level. He's a special RB.

You can find cheap parking.  Try the flats.  It was up to $15 last season from $10.  It's a bit of a walk, but you can also take the waterfront line to the footsteps of the stadium for $5.

I  usually stay at a Marriott Courtyard out in Middleburgh Heights, near the airport. Last year, after I discovered lots in the warehouse district were charging $50 for parking, I started parking at the Brookpark Rapid station and taking the train downtown.  The lot is patrolled and secure, it costs $5 for a day pass, and eliminates a lot of driving after a day of drinking.

Walk to the Terminal Tower, ride out to Brookpark, then a 5-6 mile drive to the hotel.  That is what I am doing from now on.  Cheaper and safer, and really doesn't take much longer by the time you fight you way out of a crowded downtown to get to the interstate.

Thanks for your suggestions. I DO use the rapid whenever we're not tailgating, but the days of crowded rapids may be done for quite some time & could possibly add significantly to the wait time for a train after the games. As far as a longer walk goes, 73 years & bum knees say NO (LOL). I think I'm probably transferring my season tics to my Son in Law. That way, I'll still be able to hit some games with him in Cleveland & enjoy my "at home" tailgates with fried fish, fried turkey, smoked brisket, pulled pork, grilled stuff, & some new recipes.

  4. I also have serious doubts about a season this year & have since this started. More like no games & season ticket money will be applied to next year's STs (which I expect may damn near double). They're setting the table by letting us know how LOW our ticket prices are. Besides, if they don't raise prices for next year, parking will cost more than a ticket. In my section, we had games at $50.00 per & parking is now $50.00.

Mike and I had a very excellent conversation for about an hour and as I thought there had been a miscommunication (mostly on my part) that Mike took differently than I ever intended. I apologized for what I said since I then understood how he took it at that time. Mike very graciously accepted my apology and when he is next down this way we will be getting together.  The issue itself is not important, but talking it out as friends certainly is.

Thanks cal for bringing it to my attention. Otherwise I would have been oblivious to the fact something I said here was being heard differently than what was meant by me. Mike's a great guy and he assures me that you are too. That goes a long way in my book. I respect his opinions greatly.

Thanks Bill. As we discussed, "perception" can be an awful thing & mine was wrong. I DO appreciate your call(s) & there has been no damage to our friendship.

To others...Cal IS a great guy & good friend. I don't discuss politics with anyone, but (IMO) this political forum could go "bye-bye".

They are delicious. But if you're trying to get fancy, my ex introduced me to frozen nutty butty bars once upon a time.   Dear. Christ.    Good thing my metabolism is freakish otherwise I would have put 20lbs on just looking at a box of them.

Any chocolate I eat MUST be refrigerated or frozen.Peanut m&ms are a favorite, but I have to refrain from peanuts, so it's on to plain m&ms, KitKats,3 Musketeers, Reese Cups, Milky Way Midnights, York P'mint patties, & others. BTW, even though not chocolate, Zagnuts are GREAT refrigerated (& as fragile as Wentz)!

This is what concerns me the most. You can teach a guy to run better routes and maybe show him some technical things to beat a press cover or to help him potentially get open. But if a guy can't fake out a defender I have never heard of that skill-set being taught so that he suddenly learns how to do it. If the quickness (as opposed to speed) and twitch isn't there it ain't going to grow on him.

That isn't to say he won't be a good 3rd receiver. He reminds me in a way of Antonio Callaway. I thought Callaway's twitch and ability to get a step through deception was bad. But his speed was very good and, importantly, his quickness, was very good. I could be wrong but I don't see quickness in DP-J's route-running, and the analysis confirms this. But where he will be better than Callaway is his size and his ability to fight and come down with the ball, which is fantastic. So he will be a capable 3rd receiver, imo.

Which brings up a question. Has anyone heard what the hell Higgins did that put him in 2 Browns' FO doghouses?

I would love to know about Higgins as well, but we'll never know unless HE decides to say something.

That, or he found a shampoo made by Chia pet.

Every time I see Charlie on TV, I think of the movie "Tommy Boy" & Tommy's buddy (David Spade) with his wig blowin' in the wind. Always good for a laugh.

Sure, this is kind of a backhanded insult at Michigan... but hopefully Meyer's positive words regarding DPJ help ease some Buckeyes on this board.

I saw DPJ mocked much, much high many times. A ton of WRs came out this year and it caused many of them to drop until the value was too high. Same thing with KJ Hill. I saw a few calling him the best slot WR in the class and he went in the 7th. Teams knew they could get a WR later so they waited. That affected CeeDee Lamb on down.

Compliments from Urban are not to be taken lightly. This kid may be solid....We'll see.

I know FO's say this all the time about whomever they take, but somehow I believe DePo.

When the "pick is in" went up I told my Son in Law that, as fast as they announced the pick was in, he HAD to be the Browns absolute #1 guy. I don't know WHEN I ever saw a quicker decision. The young man, Fletcher, introducing the Browns' pick was a nice touch.
