You are probably correct Darren.  Tour added some highlights that probably confirm a lot of what you like about him.  Keep in mind, a lot of fans, scouts and draft analysts will disagree with my round 2 projection (even I'm thinking I short changed him by about a half a round or so). That being the case, we could trade back to land him - but that could conceivably hand him to a team like Tampa if it's too far back. Another option is if the guy our FO wants goes before #10 we could go BPA and trade back up into round 1 for him (possibly parting with a Kareem Hunt and/or David Njoku to do so).  Even though it's a deep draft for LTs, it seems like the demand for them this year is just as deep.

The highlighted text says it all. This draft will be VERY interesting, as well as the possibility of trading for or signing a vet. Time will tell.

Canton Mike, completely head-over-heels with whoever is currently in charge for the Browns?

Who would have seen this? 😉

I readily admit to being a lifelong optimistic Browns Fan & it beats the hell outta being a negative, whiney, pessimist!

Conklin and Hooper are coming off great years too and they aren’t long long term deals that cripple cap room either for years.

Keenum is nice backup that is a luxury for a team with our cap space and again a non crippling long term cap move too.

    great signings IMO.

defense needs a TON of work though

Agreed on all counts & I trust the effort made will continue. There is still much to be done, but Berry & staff earned a LOT of credibility today.

So....we should have had him  3 years ago with that 8th pick.  We get him now.

    This is superior news.

He is a RT, no?  So, yea, we need that LT......and I guess the draft is the place to get it.

Gip, what if we sign the 38 year old LT (Peters) from Philly as a stop-gap (at the right price), trade down & pick up both an LB & a developmental LT? Just a thought.

  5. Andrew Berry has had one HELL of a day!!! Kudos to him & his staff........Hooper, Conklin & Keenum...WOW!!!

I know the acquisitions aren't official until Wednesday, but the "bashers" look like shit after all their 1-31 BS.

As many of us have said, Berry came into a totally different circumstance now than before & we had no idea what might happen, but today should show you that judging him on the past was wrong. He has certainly been aggressive in free agency.

Anyone is tradable, but.....If we were picking teams, these are the first 5 Browns Id pick for mine......in order...

Garrett - Chubb - Landry - Bito - Tretter......and I think Bito and Tretter are replaceable....Landry, Chubb & Garrett, not so much.

We have some under performing - premium talent too, but they have not lived up to the hype:

Ward has flashed over his 2 years(the talent is there), but his injuries and a lack of consistency have earned him a ticket to this group...

OBJ does amazing stuff here and there, but his overall contribution to his team always seems to equal less.....

Njoku has great physical talent, but simply isnt a football player.......

And.....Hunt is an amazing player, but.......

Agree totally about Njoku! He DOES love parading around at TC sans shirt showing off his six pack abs. If he amounts to anything, I will be surprised.

Yep-I went from a svelte 175 in the best shape of my life fresh out of Infantry School to a porky 190 within 6 months of marriage. So I took a tropical vacation to Vietnam via a two week jungle school in Panama and came back around 165. Funny how those duck and cover drills can take that stuff right off in no time flat. Right C. Mike and DieHard?😂

    You betcha!!

Thanks for sharing this!   The last time we picked a LT named Thomas he went to 10 consecutive Pro Bowls for us.  During his rookie year (2007), he played next to a very productive veteran LG Eric Steinbach and we went 10-6.

Hmmm...Rookie Thomas next to veteran LG Bitonio? Interesting. Could history repeat itself?

... and he's not working out. Another one skipping to his Pro Day.

If I were the NFL I'd tell prospects... if you want to attend for medicals, measurements and interviews, then unless you are medically DQ'd you have to do the drills... all the drills.

I forget the name, but I read about one kid who skipped the Sr. Bowl to prepare for the Combine and is now skipping the Combine drills.

Thanks Tour! Commitment to do all drills would have to be in writing prior to invitation being finalized. If a player won't commit, pull the invitation & offer it to another kid who wants to go & fully participate.
