  1. I felt horrible Saturday night... then I saw a Division Champ get taken apart at home by a WC team that slid in. at least the Browns didn't finish the season 1-6 with a relatively healthy team. and it's nice that Kevin Stefanski didn't walk out of his post game presser like Mike Tomlin. on top of that it's pure gold to hear people questioning "the Steeler Way." It's nice to not have the lingering questions so many other playoff franchises have this morning. The Browns had a fun, memorable, workman-like, next-man-up season where the carriage eventually turned back into a pumpkin and reached the point where they could no longer cover up their inefficiencies with magic. No Team in NFL History ever made the playoffs with the injuries the Browns had. No Team in NFL History ever made the playoffs with a turnover differential as big as the Browns. They overcame and overachieved. The Browns need some depth, to stay healthy and some new additions. But it sure is nice not to have the lingering feeling of "where do we go now?"
  2. Big time thanks on sharing, Gumby. That's very handy!
  3. When the Lions got the first down that sealed the game after that ballsy pass play the TV panned the crowd and the first shot showed two fans, grown men, crying. I'm happy those guys got their playoff win.
  4. It's hard to root against the Lions. With the exception of losing a team to a move, they've endured many of the same frustrations as the Browns.
  5. If McCarthy does get the axe from the Cowboys... It is time for the Browns to hire an OC? Would McCarthy, as an OC, be a good fit for the Browns?
  6. I agree. Could they co-exist? Is it guaranteed that BB wants personnel control just like in NE or does he just want to coach? JJ comes across as more of a micro-manager then Bob Kraft. BUT I think part of the Patriot Way is keeping a strong facade and all matters internal.
  7. LB Matthew Adams P Corey Bojorquez TE Harrison Bryant OT Geron Christian OL Michael Dunn DT Jordan Elliott QB Joe Flacco CB Michael Ford WR Jakeem Grant WR Marquise Goodwin S Kahlef Hailassie S Duron Harmon C Nick Harris DT Shelby Harris RB Kareem Hunt DT Maurice Hurst LB Jordan Kunaszyk S Rodney McLeod LB Jacob Phillips WR James Proche DE Za'Darius Smith LB Sione Takitaki LB Anthony Walker Jr. From the above, who should the Browns re-sign?
  8. The Secondary and DL when healthy were among the best in the NFL. There's still not a dominant force at LB that can just lock down the middle of the field, though JOK plays a strong hybrid. Offensively, more depth is needed on the OL, I think the seventh tackle of the season played tonight. I think drafting a RB is diligent, but I'd also bring Kareem Hunt back if the number can work. As far as Flacco, they'd be crazy not to consider bringing him back. He pushed the ball down the field in way no other QB in Cleveland has since Bernie. He brought out the beat in Njoku and made the TEs a threat.
  9. That's become the hardest things about professional sports. That is what was so special about college football. The purity of wanting to win and wanting to be the best. Now there is so much money involved, and I'm a capitalist to the core, that the focus turns into what's coming around the bend rather than finishing the job being stared down. Most of these guys will have a trip booked somewhere by halftime of the Dolphins-Chiefs game. As my daughter sat down beside and asked if "we" were winning, I said no, but Training Camp starts in 6 months.
  10. I HATE that I feel this way but this is when I hope guys don't start checking out: Are guys thinking about being on the beach next week. Is Schwartz thinking about an open job? Are they finally letting the injuries get to them?
  11. I've never been the one to run home and cry to parents. BUT I'll be damned if every spring owners meeting Bob Kraft and Jerry Jones aren't offering up changes that benefit their teams. It's time for Jimmy Haslam to be more vocal to league about stuff like this when someone lines up across from Myles Garrett.
  12. At a gymnastics meet relying on you guys and the google, but I saw 3rd & 6 at the 41, became 1st and goal at the 3.
  13. My general take was not related to the Patriots. It was along the lines that 25% of the teams in the League are without a HC. Maybe the Raiders hire Antonio Pierce and take the number down to 7/32. I do hope Schwartz sticks around and wants to be part of something special, just like Dick LeBeau, and be happy being the DC, or Defensive Head Coach as Terry Pluto called him, for a serious Super Bowl contender for the next decade.
  14. I did not want to post about anything until after the playoffs, because I want to enjoy this run. I believe the derby is about to blow open. The next man up mentality of this Browns team has been nothing short of exceptional. I hope the same mentality exists on the coaching staff and in the front office. Jim Schwartz is going to be a hot commodity.
  15. There are two Head Coaches in Cleveland Browns history with multiple 11+ win seasons: the great Paul Brown and Kevin Stefanski. Joe Flacco is the first player in NFL History to pass for 250+ yards and, at least, 2 TDs in his first five starts with a team. Joe Flacco is making David Njoku the TE we expected on Draft Day. Bitonio, Pocic and Teller will determine how far this team goes. I've only experienced seminal Cleveland sports moments through the TV, but what I experienced last night with the fan base is not something I've experienced since the Indian's 1995 World Series run. Kevin Stefanski is THE COACH OF THE YEAR. Myles Garrett doesn't need sacks to be the most effective Edge Rusher. He won't be the DPOY, but he deserves the award. Joe Flacco is THE COMEBACK PLAYER OF THE YEAR.
  16. The electricity in the stadium is gone. The Jets are finding a way to stick around. Play the clock, get the win, secure the playoffs and call it a night.
  17. They can't go to a sleep. There is still a half of football to be played. I got home at 13-7. Who gets the second half kick?
