  1. A lot of stats options at this link : snap count analysis 2022 Browns TE
  2. WR is pretty deep this year.. unless JSN or Zay Flowers somehow fall I doubt anything other than DT is likely at 2. Still need dt2 and dt3 if Winfrey is dt4. Downs at the comp pick or rd4 would be solid as WR3.
  3. The guy who's selling is one of two who ran it and has turned down offers to sell before. They have to sign off on everything other than the basketball plays -- marketing, contracts dealing with food/upkeep/shows when team isn't playing, arena upgrades etc. Also they're a pretty big part of agreeing to pay luxury tax which Bucks are somehow >70M into this season. So if you have a Mike Brown who wants to do everything cheap, you have to luck into a transcendant talent [Burrow] to do anything. Or, and this is the key for the ownership, [one] ensure you keep the staff around to train those picks up and [two] recognize when to shift to "Now We Can Actually Win" mode and be willing to spend extra money on the bench players, the promotion staff, etc. Sure, hands off, but they can't be checked out. I can only wish Haslam always wanted to own NBA and so will now look to sell the Browns.
  4. 2016 FO took Corey Coleman and Emmanuel Ogbah both over osu's Michael Thomas and Miss St's Chris Jones. Good times.
  5. Walter has Browns taking Lukas Van Ness with our all-important second round pick. Not sure what to think.. unless we can conduct remedial NFL summer school for him and Alex Wright - and might as well add Winfrey.
  6. Hurts was a powerlifting state champ in HS, he may be stronger than his own OL. The scrum part seems incidental, he had the first every time before the other guys behind him could reach him..
  7. Their first team is doing so well that they have extra time for another one!
  8. This thread is regrettable when you recognize the effect Watson's contract will have on the overall roster. Check out the difference between his 2023 and 2024 cap numbers - and then consider what an overall increase of [only] 17M will do.
  9. Here's hoping Jerron Cage falls to us sometime on day3. I think he's everything Togiai has proven not to be.
  10. All positions have to be able to both cover if motion happens and take the right angles in deep coverage.. there isn't a distinction any more such as this. That being said, the best 11 will play and so if you do see this [decreasing JJ's responsibilities so as to minimize this weakness] that means.. the DC recognizes that the player has limitations and so... everyone else is actually asked to cover even more ground to pick up the slack. The reason I think he's gone after June1 is because his cap hit this season is no less than 13.5.. which is wildly insane for a person we're having this discussion about. Note that before june1 getting rid of him would be 12.6 dead; after that would be "only" 3.5 dead. In a different world, that 3.5 could/should be enough to get a FA starter; instead, we'll be paying that as dead money.
  11. ... Just fired from Michigan for charges that 99% of the time are child porn. Sure, it might not end up being that, 1% chance does happen, but vast majority of the time, that's what the Asserted Vague Phrasing [Computer Access Crimes] stated as his firing reason means.
  12. @tiamat63 -- is Calijah Kancey on your list? OBR proposed him. Undersized, but fireplug body shape wins with leverage. Comparisons to Sheldon Rankins make me curious.
  13. "Sure, if I can have final say for each pick in the 2023 and 2024 draft class"
  14. The article says "Let's Hope"... meaning that there is zero proof such a feeling actually exists. My bet is Jordan simply decided this negativity by himself. Why worry that one belief of one guy is somehow going to spread... now? They're professional football players.. every single one of them has resisted believing different teammates' random ideas for over 10 years. Perception may very well become reality, but the reality that already exists is also reality. There's always worse teams to go to -- MN hasn't fired their DC yet, Chargers have a 100% rate of failure in basically everything, Texans haven't had a good coach in 5 years, etc.
  15. I don't understand what Tampa Bay is doing with their staff.. the DL coach is the offense run game coordinator; the ILB coach is the offense pass game coordinator. They also have as a full-time offense consultant Tom Moore, who's apparently 84 years young.
  16. Good to see the OSU defenders doing work today - LB Baker on the Phins, Hubbard returning the worst goal-line "leap" I've seen in a while.. Huntley for some reason jumped at the 2 and never got past the 1
  17. Before the playoffs are over [tomorrow for them] - I'm ruling out the DC of Minnesota. He'll be available because he found a way to be worse than Joe Woods.. and he needs to remain "available."
  18. EPA/Play is sort of the Godfather of D stats.. Browns 2022 was 25th which seems about right. Too many quality players for that to be the result, but thanks Joe
  19. Glenn Cook interviews with the Titans This is great news because if he takes the role, Browns get 2 more third round picks - one this year and one next. These will be after the ones assigned for FA's lost so bottom of the 3rd. Detail of 3rd round compensation for executives This is a great technique for keeping the team stocked with draft picks, but let's try developing some players also.
  20. Most recent 2023 and 2024 picks League is awarding the 2023 round3 pick for Vikings hiring away a Browns FO person to be their GM, unknown if they'll put the pick in the slot Browns finish or somewhere within the comp picks for that round.
  21. Missing on top prospects for like 3 years because OSU's NIL is not up to the level of schools down south. I recommend menace 2 sports, the daily OSU football podcast of Zach Smith, former OSU WR coach who still talks to his coaching connections. He's done multiple hour-long discussions on NIL.. basically the OSU administration isn't working with the people who would be needed to deal with the NIL items. Think of NIL as roster management.. you don't need NIL to pay Marv, he's going to walk into Ricart Ford and walk out with whatever he needs. You need the NIL for the backup LT, the backup DL [at OSU, the backup 6 DL, but that's a podcast by itself] so that they don't hit the portal after one season like Ewers did. You need NIL to sign the big recruits -- The Program only sells itself to some extent, there's always some other university's big donor dropping big money to get 4-star recruits. That's also why the OSU RB room has needed random transfers and WR position switches to get through the season.. because OSU's 4,5* RB recruit the last 2 years have gone elsewhere to teams with worse records. Zero of this is on Day -- Day had the #1 class the year before NIL was a thing. He recruits very well, but the job changed underneath him.
  22. Along the lines of the recent FTX reveal.. soon we'll find the Discord chat of all the Broncos coaches named "Let's Suck in 2022" For those of you who weren't following FTX.. They planned their crimes beginning in 2019 in a private Discord chat they named "Wirefraud". They're now charged with wire fraud - and other felonies.
  23. 1) Zone vs Man -- Browns are a top10 team when playing zone despite narrative that some DB's are "better in man." 2) Quincy Carter breaking down Watson 3) Woods should get a shot this week with Cooper and Bell hobbled. 4) Long analysis of Winfrey's potential. season, & future. Today's must read. As with all things in life.. you did good yesterday, youngster, now show me you can do it again.
  24. Of course, if any of the things Bob proposes are actually true, then "analytics" aren't a large part of the decision-making process And if that was true, then we might have to lay blame at the feet of.. football people!
