  1. Further details. Damn, son. Alex Wright and Isaiah Thomas.. injured. Winfrey.. Cut. And even when Wright/Thomas return.. how many more weeks will it take for them to be 100%? Ika and Mcguire are now even more important than we thought they would be.
  2. Browns are spoiled for choice at backup OL. Jones, Martin, Wypler, Dunn, Hudson.. and Harris. That's a replacement OL L-R that is at minimum competent and at most a couple of near-all-pros. Here's hoping they're ST all-stars because I don't want to lose any of them.. and it's been a while since we've had anything other than starters.
  3. Wyatt Teller -- Something's happening because no guaranteed salary after 2023. And this is a pretty genius roster and contract construction by Berry presuming replacement(s) can/will be ready. 2024 post-june-1-cut -- 2.9 dead // 6.4 cap saving 2025 post-june-1-cut -- 2.9 dead // 9.2 cap saving 2026 post-june-1-cut -- 1.8 dead // 13.2 cap saving Here's hoping Callahan gets a raise as well..
  4. Pocic's contract means he'll be a post-June-1 cut before either the 2024 or 2025 season. Even 2024 is still a reasonable number [3.98] but the dead is only 1.98 for both years if he's cut and wypler starts.
  5. Turns out Dawand Jones went the entire game at RT ; Hudson went the entire game at LT; i think Wypler went the entire game at C. Our future starters? PFF showed Jones and Wypler allowed zero pressures [jones lost 1 passrush, wypler lost 0] but can't find runblock for any
  6. Getting away with PI in the end zone from 35 yards out seems helpful. I'm not mad at the flag on the celebration after the walkoff pick
  7. Show me the photos, show me the Things that were wildly different than anything done on a normal commercial flight. Of course! But the thing is.. there's zero proof other than some random dude's words that anything actually happened. What's the proof that the guy who started this isn't a United apologist? Is he getting free united points for inventing fake scandals? That's like selling fake yahoo/google 5-star restaurant ratings, etc. Everyone's got an angle. The concept is that all planes need a set amount of time to be cleaned -- it's never zero minutes even when "nothing" has happened on a plane. This lie doesn't even need to be intentionally predetermined to be malicious -- it could just be "Hey, let's try to cover for this delayed departure.. come up with something, guy running website, we'll see if it gets traction" It could be that the cleaning crew was staffed correctly but wasn't told the jet had arrived until it had been sitting for 20 minutes already.. and the room where they waited for the plane to arrive was a 10 minute walk from the gate where the plane was located. And... even IF this plane was actually done wrong by Browns, they had 12-odd hours to arrange a cleaning crew. That plane [to be clear: EVERY plane] should have been inspected the minute Browns are fully off.. and if there's a concern you call ahead and arrange a crew to meet it at XYZ location to do whatever extra scrubbing is needed. They did NOTHING for the first 9 hours.. and only then tried to scramble likely without the available staff. That process fail and therefore the delay for the commercial passengers.. is entirely United's fault, not Cleveland's. If United across the entire country is staffing so tightly that they have zero capacity [labor hours paid for cleaning staff are cleaning capacity] to clean a spilled drink, the resultant delays are United's fault. This entire story really is the very purest of fact-free gossip.
  8. That DTR block before the TD was more exciting than the run itself, it's hard to deny Kelly RB3
  9. What exactly is the proof the Browns did anything? Third-hand gossip? How does anyone know that one of the dudes doesn't have beef with the Browns and is therefore just looking to start random rumors? United, the training organization for American and Delta because friends don't let friends layover in Newark, took off.. 36 minutes late? That's also every midday Tuesday flight from a vaguely busy airport.. aka anything not in Ohio. Pro sports teams throw things in an airplane all the time. So the actual question should be -- not "did anything happen" but rather "was what happened, if anything, more than what should be expected if a sports team is going to throw stuff in an airplane". And just to be clear... taking 36 minutes to clean is nothing. Wake me when the party includes an armrest or a seat cushion torn off. Here's a fun first-hand story about United: First time i flew to the Dad's house in columbus to introduce my now wife, we got stranded in Newark for 12 hours because they just cancelled the original connection and didn't replace it. Yes, United does do this shit.. and attempts to blame their lack of staffing and poor maintenance planning on someone/anyone they can. Is it possible Cleveland did something? Of course. But it's also more probable that United didn't staff high enough at the location they attempted to turn that airliner from charter back to commercial AND the browns did exactly nothing... and thus the delay is purely from United's attempt to save on staff $ by asking 2 already overworked maintenance staff to do the work of 5.
  10. This seems like a topic deserving my wearing an "I Am Not an Unindicted Co-conspirator" T-shirt, but that might raise some questions that the shirt has already answered.
  11. Just imagine: We could have kept the picks and taken Malik Willis or Desmond Ridder 2 rounds too early and paired him with Cole Strange, who's doing just fine.
  12. Solid summary of Winfrey case and overall Browns policy I assume Cal's takes are based on his bedrock legal principle of wocus ergo brocus.
  13. All you need is a crime, a motive, and proof of causation - and Hunter Biden's going down! You're so close!
  14. "I kept my underwear on for this?!" ~ Alan Dershowitz, probably
  15. Brett Kollmann put out an hour preview of Browns season on Bootleg Football. Perform capitalism by picking the podcast delivery method that works for you.
  16. They only have one guy from Utah who's got a shot to make the 53. The other from Utah on the 90 is a PS OL And unless they're from Utah, the word "contribute" is less funny
  17. Jerome Ford will be KR full-time this season -- he was 6th in the NFL in return distance last season. DPJ did punt returns the second half of last season.. and given the other WR's, could do that this season also. Given these two roles, Grant has no roster spot.. I wouldn’t take him over Bell or Goodwin for WR6. I wouldn’t roster Phillips this season even on his rookie deal.. every snap he takes is a snap that could go to someone who doesn’t suck.. For this reason Fields should be listed as a lock. Any other LB who’s been doing well in practice would be decent to try as well. Phillips is an athlete who just isn’t good at football.
  18. Because our cap space is obviously infinite, let's trade for a guy on Washington's DL that some of us are familiar with. Commanders declined Chase Young's 5th year option - 2023 is his last year under contract.
  19. Each of those FA's is a different contract. Look at the dead values for ZDS for a post-June 1 cut vs the pre-June 1 cut. In short, if ZDS isn't resigned, he'll be listed as a post June1 cut next season.. resulting in a total of 1.8 dead in each of 2024, 2025, 2026, and 2027 because why not. Big upfront value leading to scare quotes, sprinkles in reality. Same analysis for the rest of the list, just different values for each player
  20. Possibly OT, but fun Tampa 2 is just a cover 3 with different players in the deep zone If you're not aware how a "modern" NFL defense plays man on one side of the field and zone on the other.. you might learn something by watching.
  21. Hopkins was suspended the first 6 games of last season because he tested positive for PED's This will continue to happen more [not less] moving forward as the body breaks down.. I can't stomach paying cap and cash to a guy who risks his availability for the team ingesting random stuff. "Supplements" have always been a question mark of actual content; "I Took A Supplement Named Happy Candy" is not an excuse or an explanation. The fact that the supplement market isn't regulated does in fact mean that the customer's first assumption should be that the words regarding the ingredients are 100% lies. If you think capitalists don't lie to you, you are the ideal sucker.
