  1. target for PT while Ward recovers: Desmond King was just cut by Houston
  2. ESPN Resisting the urge to be cynical about Hopkins.. who if he's not in the top tier of league K, he's at least in the tier of very-good. Hopkins salary
  3. Time to give Robbie Gould a call. Crosby's last couple of seasons had a lot of misses.
  4. Pierre Strong Profile RAS Never a bad thing to get the #1 "athlete" at a position for a guy who is about to get cut.
  5. You guys are kidding but Grant got injured on the opening kick and needed an air cast and the stretcher to get off the field. So he's IR'd for the second year. Can Watkins do returns?
  6. It's great to see Berea making decisions based on who's the best player rather than "we want 6 LB" etc. S Hickman vs LB Fields vs LB Adams vs LB Diabate -- Much roster construction assumes an extra LB would be the take for ST.. but Hickman is big enough to do similar work in ST and is what you want at the back of the S group. And Goodwin's injury has to give Grant the edge.. can't roster someone who will just be IR in 2 weeks. As for WR Watkins.. He definitely won't get through the waiver wire so likely makes it. QB Mond.. likely does the waiver wire dance all season because QB3 doesn't have to be on 53
  7. Cards current starter? Your first guess was right - Colt McCoy.
  8. Here's a bet Cards hadn't called yet to ask about Dobbs. Getting a free 5th and saving $2M against the cap is good business..
  9. If this had happened in February, Moore wouldn't be on this team. My changes with OBR's prediction are: Fields makes the 53 at LB because all he does is make plays and be in the right spot. Hickman makes the 53 at S over a 6th LB. Obscure player note - Sometimes, the jack of all trades guy is in fact good at none of them.
  10. This. We're under the cap this year now nearly precisely the amount we're over the cap next year. No signing incoming - just manipulating the definition of cap so that next year we don't have to release half the team to get under.
  11. Schwartz caught something with his hands? In front of Ringo? Ah, preseason.
  12. Pretty sure that confirms they're finally not starting Togiai
  13. Game 4 is a ways away - 10/1/2023 is some 6 weeks - but this seems important for Baltimore. They're already starting street UDFA's at CB.. couldn't happen to a nicer bunch.
  14. Johnson in DET -- Their OL has concepts we can/should include because our OL is more talented. Don't tell me you wouldn't replay Dawand Jones going in motion and catching a pass for a first down..
  15. The knock from menace2sports, the podcast from Urban's WR coach, was that DJ was entitled the last year+ within the Woody and didn't work at film, conditioning, technique, or the weight pile. OTOH I thought I saw from an earlier article that DJ recognized the first week of rookie camp that he wasn't at the right level - and has been working on his conditioning. We'll see. Let's hope he's also doing enough to minimize the soft-tissue injuries.
  16. DTR film analysis at QB School Can't coach that play-action fake any better..
  17. Calling it early: DTR will be QB2 at some point this season. If he wasn't behind Watson, he very well could start sooner than later. Playcalling wouldn't change at all. If Watson stumbles or isn't too great within a couple years - DTR is Watson's easy replacement. Added bonus: DTR has the single hardest throw ever measured at the NFL combine.
  18. Phillips tore his pec and is out for the season.. that was the end of him getting PT in a Browns uniform. Here's hoping it means Fields will get more PT
  19. News came out today that Manziel isn't the worst of recent Browns draft picks -- Buster Skrine [5/2011] arrested for check fraud from multiple Canadian banks. Skrine's OTC page shows he made over $40M during his career.. and he's doing time for a comparably minor total of $100k.
  20. Shelby Harris Hopefully he can rediscover his 2017-2020 form.
  21. That's enough time for 3 more position groups to lose 2 backups to knee surgery! I'll see myself out.
  22. Keep it up We're spoiled for choice at backup OT with the emergence of Hudson and Dawand. Sure, he's not a starter yet, but Conklin contract -- 2023 and 2024 appear predetermined, here's guessing he's gone before the 2025 season. Wills contract -- Will he be franchised next season to ensure Hudson works out the issues highlighted by tia and to allow Dawand to continue to develop? No long-term yet.
