Phew! You've found your excuse for 8 years of going O for Obama. Not to worry - a lifetime Democrat ended up saving the Republican party; and why was this possible? There wasn't 1 Republican in that entire party strong enough to even take on Mrs Clinton? Prove me wrong here.... Unfortunately, it only took 4 years after Trump guaranteed Mexico would pay for this border wall he would have built for America to fire him for a guy with Sundowners. Uh-oh, this very fragile man most of America chose was Obama's VP. That means the Republican party is actually 0-3 against men and 1-0 against the only woman in the last 4 elections covering 16 years. Even worse, that O for 3 is vrs the Biden/Obama tandem and you're STILL not demanding better from the Republican party. I see why you're always angry. Penis envy is probably pretty common among little fellers like you. If Tom Thumb had a bigger stinger than me, I'd probably be just as angry as you. I think there's a lot of little Keebler Elves like you in cyberspace pretending they're big bad tough guys in a place where they have the comfort of knowing nobody can see their physiques.
  2. Not to be early responding or anything but OUCH! You hate to start the year off with devastating news like this. My FREAKIN team growing up was via the affiliation of the Rochester Red Wings, who won a lot of Championships in the Minors btw. That made me a Baltimore Orioles fan back in the day it was actually okay to like a pro team in Baltimore. Brooks Robinson, Don Baylor, Boog Powell, Mark Belanger, Bobby Grich, Paul Blair, Al Bumbry, Jim Palmer, Dave McNally, Mike Cuellar, Grant Jackson, etc. Later on Cal Ripken, Mike Boddicker and others came a long. Back in the day, we'd see a lot of these guys in Rochester before they were promoted up to the Orioles. Here's the thing - Rochester was always one of the top teams getting the player accustomed to winning, which definitely carried over to the Orioles. That's how they became our home team so to speak from long distance. Unfortunately, Peter Angelos bought the team and ended it's relationship with the Rochester Red Wings. I've been very happy about that team sucking ever since. I'm ecstatic that they gagged last year when it looked like a blind squirrel finally found a nut. If all that wasn't enough, that's the FREAKIN same city that took our Browns - so that is the last fanbase I'd ever want to be a part of. I haven't really cared for MLB ever since (seeing the Houston Asterisks rewarded for cheating solidified this feeling); but that's my baggage. There's a lot of passionate sports fans in here that deserve to see their ALL of their teams succeed...
  3. 😆 It was really something to see. What a way to show an opponent we're gonna gut you today. Here's a little something about that Cal-Mum football program during the 70s, 80s and 90s. The cool thing about it is they were just a small school in the middle of nowhere. They had a unique way of thinking; and a surprising amount of talent. I was hoping I'd see a picture of that kickoff team in the article but I didn't see it. Unfortunately, they ended up needing to their football program with Byron-Bergen somewhere in 2016. https://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/sports/high-school/2018/09/19/photos-caledonia-mumford-red-raiders-through-years-section-v-rochester-ny-leroy-oatkan-knights/1345773002/
  4. There was small school in the Greater Rochester Area called Caledonia Mumford that ranked #1 in the State. In fact, they ranked #1 in the state frequently in the 80s and 90s if memory serves me right. Roland Poles, the current GM of the Bears played there - as did his older brothers Junior and Ronnie. Junior went to BC. Ronnie or Roland or both played at Tennessee. Anyway, that team used to lay the football down the long way on the white line; and the big huge tackle would kick freakin line drives at the 5 guys on the front line of the return team (usually all linemen shittin their pants). You wouldn't believe the chaos that generated for opposing teams. It was brilliant!
  5. I didn't realize anyone would ever miss the 1-15 football followed by 0-16 football we had to endure a couple years or so before Stefanski arrived. I was wrong...
  6. I haven't seen you guys talking to each other in a while. I hope you guys have at least been sending post cards to one another. If I ever wrote the re-do/sequel to The Parent Trap - You and Nicks are gonna star as the long lost twins that met at a football camp. BTW, some of the funniest pranks I've ever seen took place at football camps.
  7. If I could choose 1 already employed proto-type at the 35 blocking for our Kickoff Return man - it would be this 6-3 305 lb FB/John Deere Tractor. His name is Patrick Ricard and he will be the lead blocker for Derrick Henry this year. Sound like fun? It will be when they play Pittsburgh TWICE...
  8. Except for the 2 NFL Coach of the Year Awards he received in his 1st 4 years in Cleveland. Winning 11 games without Nick Chubb, 2 starting tackles and in spite of the need for 5 different QBs must be a lot easier than I've been giving it credit for.
  9. I don't have a problem with you disagreeing at all. That said, I had coffee in my mouth when I read your comment you sick bastard. Key word in that sentence is had.
  10. Their biggest cheerleader is unavailable for comment. Apparently, he's been so excited about the Ken and Barbie Doll movie he's been writing adorable critiques of it. Rumor has it, he's been stalking the writers to do a sequel that will add his blonde haired GI Joe to the mix. I don't know if that's any healthier than him thinking about his favorite football team the year after lost ethics. Looks like he's headed right back to football without asterisks is like a season without sunshine.
  11. I think you're correct with that part I bolded above. This will eventually be a lot like calling holding except this rule was added for player safety instead of preventing one from gaining an unfair advantage. I'm guessing this means they will probably be reminded they can't exercise as much discretion on limiting how many times they will be calling what they're seeing like they can with holding in the beginning of all this. I do expect the frequency to subside after a while. We'll start to hear a lot of "this was totally unintentional" from the Tony Romos and Troy Aikmans covering the game. Back to the holding for just a second. We had guys in here sharing a lot pictures and videos of opponents getting away with blatant holding on Myles Garrett with officials right there observing it. This was in during the final 6 weeks of the season where a total of only 1 flag was thrown for holding on Garrett's opponents. If you want to handcuff a team that sets up the entire/overall success of their defense on Garrett's pass rush - failure to enforce that rule of the game can be a significant factor in whether this team wins or loses. After the 1st 11 of 17 games - Garrett had 13 sacks. Over the final 6 games - that pace took a cliff dive down to just 1 sack. During this span, back to back weeks out west vrs Denver and the LA Rams - Garrett had 0 sacks in back to back losses this defense didn't look at all like a top rated defense. Coincidentally, the Browns lost both of those games. I'm sure this happens to other great pass rushers like Watts-hisname and former Penn State grad Micah Parsons (who said film didn't lie about why Garrett was the obvious Defensive Player of the Year). Way back when I coached high school football in BC (Before Cellphones) - all the coaches in the county met with officials every year before the regular season got under way. They explained spirit of the rules where if there is a guy running for a TD down the left sidelines and one of his teammates is back 25 yards on the opposite hash holding someone that has no chance to make the tackle or effect the play - was the TD scored because of an unfair advantage? No, spirit of the rule says outcome of the play wasn't caused from the hold in another area code. On the other hand, clipping is different because it's a player safety thing so it should be called regardless of where it is spotted. Spirit of the rule is player safety. I think that'll be a challenge with this new rule for a while. Then I'm guessing it eventually morphs into using discretion on whether this could have been avoided or it needs to be flagged which will reduce the frequency of flags. Maybe? Flugel needs to stop sniffing glue? I'd be interested in hearing from anyone that played football in here if you were ever taught this hip drop tackle at any level or at any football camps you attended. NFL Films has reminded us what Vince Lombardi used to think of his defensive players trying to grab jerseys in lieu of squaring up to plant a text book form tackle on somebody. Having said that, trying to tackle someone from behind or via a pursuit angle doesn't always put defenders in ideal position to make a nice safe form tackle.
  12. When you factor in the new rule changes to the kickoffs that will significantly increase the number of kickoff returns in all likelihood - perfect timing to add a Pro Bowl STs guy that's good at covering punts/kickoffs.
  13. They just fixed that with the new kickoff rules in the last week or so. There's going to be more returns and more injuries.
  14. In the world according to Ken and Barbie's biggest fan - I'll take this as a compliment.
  15. Thanks Vambo! This is a very good pick-up for the Browns. Here's an interesting article that tells us the type of player he is. I think we always have room for this... NY Jets lose key Pro Bowler and team captain to Browns This is a pretty big loss for the Jets By Justin Fried | Apr 2, 2024 Justin Hardee / Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports Keep Watching The NY Jets were able to retain their standout specialist duo of Thomas Morstead and Greg Zuerlein this offseason, but the team's special-teams unit will still look quite different in 2024. That's because former Pro Bowler and special-teams captain Justin Hardee officially signed with the Cleveland Browns on Tuesday, ending his three-year tenure with the organization. Hardee had previously hinted at an impending Jets departure on social media earlier in the offseason, which is why it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that he wasn't brought back. The 30-year-old missed time due to injury in 2023, appearing in 11 games, but his value shouldn't be understated. Hardee is one of the best special-teamers in football and a beloved team captain — he will be missed. How the NY Jets plan to replace Justin Hardee The decision to let Hardee walk likely came down to a couple of factors. The first, and most obvious, reason has to do with money. The specific details of Hardee's contract are yet to be released, but even if he signed for the veteran minimum, that's still probably more than the Jets were willing to pay. Hardee's primary replacement is expected to be Irv Charles, a former undrafted free agent who earned a spot on the team due to his special-teams prowess and helped fill in admirably while Hardee was sidelined last season. Charles is under contract for just $915,000 in 2024. The veteran minimum for a player with 7+ years of experience (which Hardee has) is $1.65 million next season. There's no scenario in which Hardee could've been signed for less than Charles. The Jets remain high on Charles' potential and were impressed by his performance last season. Charles led all Jets players with a 90.3 Pro Football Focus special-teams grade in 2023 and finished second on the team with eight special-teams tackles despite playing only 12 games. The Jets will also return fellow gunner Brandin Echols and Isaiah Oliver, who the team signed last month. Both Echols and Oliver have extensive experience as gunners, which should help mitigate the loss of Hardee. It'll be up to special teams coordinator Brant Boyer to make up for Hardee's absence in 2024, and Charles is the player they're most likely counting on. Perhaps this motivates the Jets to more aggressively attempt to re-sign Ashtyn Davis, another Boyer favorite who led the Jets in special-teams tackles last season. Either way, losing Hardee is a significant blow to the Jets' locker room and special-teams unit. Unfortunately, the NFL is a business at the end of the day, and the Jets made a business decision.
  16. One of the best all around LBers in NFL (Fred Warner of the 49er) was a 3rd round pick out of BYU. Speaking of BYU, the Rams got the steal of the 2023 draft with 5th round pick Puka Nacua (who was actually their 2nd of 2 picks in that round). I bring those guys up to remind us there will be some great prospects available when we're picking. If our scouts have done thorough research for a draft volume of only 5 guys -I think this can be a great draft for us.
  17. The path this thread took or you took? You sign up for stuff; and then you act surprised at the responses/outcomes you receive. Of course you're gonna get your balls busted about wasting 2 hours of your life watching a movie about a Barbie Doll and announcing it was great. When you go to a sports message board that caters to the major sports teams in the area/state where you allegedly live; and then break out the Fah-Q Ohio State after your out of state team finally doesn't need a Heimlich Maneuver in the big game - you get what you order here. If you wanted congrats and cyber fanny pats, my guess is alienating yourself with the Fuck You Ohio State removed any/all opportunities to get that. My best friend is a Michigan fan and I had no problem saying Congrats to him because he never used to dish out the ball busting a few decades ago when Buckeyes fans were getting John Coopered. He never did that. What I'm getting at here is golden rule. You're never gonna re-wire where someone comes from and/or what they've grown up passionate about. You have 2 choices - respect that or challenge it like you do frequently. All that said, we're on a message and busting chops is fun. When I was a kid, I had a GI Joe or 2 or 3. When you were a kid, you had a Barbie doll and a Ken. And that's okay. Hang in there man...
  18. To answer my question in the topic heading? Just like poor Poindexter had to hear after paying for the limo, dinner and drinks on prom night, "No means no!" This video below is about 2-3 weeks old already. Former Buckeye T-Powell has has an interesting way of explaining LBers that own the hook zones in coverage that are also capable of tapping gray area a little beyond. As funny as it may be try not to get too distracted by his choice of words so that you can get what he wants the audience to understand. The reason I went out and got his for us - is because our LBers that were supposed to complement what JOK was doing (blitzing passers) - became liabilities in space. You say they looked spaced out because they were. We signed 2 guys. Edit: 1 is coming over from Minnesota (Jordan Hicks); but he's 31 and missed games to injury in December. He played for Philly's Super Bowl team before that. Good talent and veteran leadership; but Anthony Walker came here with that - and we just couldn't ever get him on the field. LB depth has been an issue here in recent years. Meanwhile Devin Bush didn't get a lot of playing time in Seattle last year. That said, I can think of a lot of very good LBers that wouldn't start over Bobby Wagner; while their other ILB Jordyn Brooks is a 1st round draft pick that's played well for Seattle when healthy. Once upon a time Devin Bush was a promising young LBer Pittsburgh drafted in round 1. An injury early on changed everything. We've answered the depth need. Has that answered our LBer in coverage concerns though? I don't believe it has but I could certainly be wrong with that.... Would a guy like Payton Wilson, Trevin Wallace, Junior Colson, Jeremiah Trotter, Cedric Gray or anyone else you could think of offer us a solution in this draft?
  19. 😆 Can you imagine Keith Jackson with the commentary back in the day? "OOOOOOH by golly, Tackle made by 340 pounds of Free Space that's been stretching 2 counties wide all day long. That young fella is really showing teammates how to bring the sting; and he's been a gang tackle all by himself."
  20. Who's gonna be the 1st sick bastard to wear a decimal between the numbers? Someone like Siaki Ika has probably powered down enough pie in his life to start wearing and stretching it across the belly. That, or our Double Wide from the Crimson Tide (Dalvin Tomlinson) would look pretty freakin tight wearing 3.14.
  21. Same here - thanks!
  22. Some people just love them some white pocket passer types whether it's a Lady Hawkeyes point guard/shooting guard or a cement shoe'd NFL QB.
  23. Thanks for setting that up and watching that with me T! I wish I could say Jaylan Ford gave us something exciting to watch. I overrated the crap out of him from things I read in 2 Draft Magazines . Having said that, Lindy's Magazine has him as a 4th-5th round projection which seems more accurate than Athlon's 3rd round projection. The stats looked good in the mag but we watched the matchup of their win against Alabama; and he didn't live up to what I was expecting at all. Then we watched some of the matchup of their loss against Oklahoma and it was more of the same. I really WANTED to see guy that was good against the pass because we really need a MLB/ILB that can do that while JOK does his thing at OLB. Cedric Gray, Payton Wilson and Jeremiah Trotter are higher rated ILBers in Lindy's. They also have Colson listed as an OLB but could play inside. The concerns about Wilson are 2 ACL injuries: 1 from 2017 (high school) and tore it again in June of 2018. He's also had both shoulders injured and surgically repaired in college. All that being the case before the 2023 season, guess what he did in only 12 games in 2023? He had 138 tackles, 17.5 Tackles for loss, 6 sacks, 10 QB hits, 3 INTs, 6 pass breakups, 1 forced fumble, 2 fumble recoveries. Then he lit it up at the combines in his 6-4 238lbs frame. It'll be interesting to see who is left when we're drafting. Yeah, we signed 2 LBers but one is from the Philly defense had considerable trouble defending short passes in the hook zones. The other LBer (Bush) had a major injury in Pittsburgh that he never really recovered well enough from to live up to their expectation. LBer is still a need IMO. I think we're looking at drafting these needs in random order: WR, OL, LB, DL, CB. While Safety isn't a pressing need - we've seen Ed Reed, Pollyneedsahaircut and now Kyle Hamilton reminding us how that position can be a game changer if you have the right guy back there. And we all know Denzel usually misses games to injury, which could get complicated in a hurry if we lose anyone else. Going to an all you can eat buffet on a diet (only 5 draft picks) can be a big tease...
  24. I didn't mind it. Here's what it looked like. https://vintagecardprices.com/name-search/Greg-Pruitt/football-cards
