  1. To be honest, I used to work with a guy in Nashville that also played on our coed softball team. Great guy! One day we had had a dress down Friday jersey day; and he wore a Rams Kurt Warner Rams jersey. So I said what's up with that? He said, "it's simple - he's gorgeous. I hope that doesn't make you uncomfortable." Even though it caught me off guard for a split second - "I told him a good person is a good person; and a good friend is a good friend. You're both!" I never wasted time explaining I was raised old school where this was considered different and wrong all the way into Catholic/Christian beliefs. On the other hand, we're not supposed to judge others. What? We judge others? We only do that with Woody; because he makes it fun to bust his chops. Before that, my cousin that went to war (3 tours) for this country hated anyone that was gay all the way up until his younger sister dropped the bomb and gave her family the news. He was always a very protective older brother to her (and he always acted like one to me and my brother). The good news is despite the surprise he never stopped being a protective older brother. She had more turbulence with her mom; and he was the one that helped them restore their relationship. Today, he has a terminal brain cancer and the person who has helped him the most since his diagnosis and drastic life change is his sister's spouse (also gay obviously). Funny how life can throw us these kind of curve balls when societal trends had us well trained to hate something we are/were never willing to see the bigger picture with until a friend or family member catches us off guard. Before my cousin came out, her and her older brother set me up on a blind date I wasn't aware of until I had extra hot chicken wing sauce on my face and fingers on 10 cents-a-wing and quarter drafts night. All of a sudden, my cousin Billy breaks out the "hey cuddin try not to get too rat faced because my sister is bringing a friend from work (that she also plays softball with) that she really wants you meet." That person is now my wife and we just had our 30th Anniversary in February. This night took place about 5-10 years before she let her family and friends know what her sexual preference is. It never changed who she is or how we feel about her. Not only that, she dated guys in her class that played football and other sports so she tried to resist how her sexual preferences were wired. I don't think this is something that can be changed no matter how little support/mercy society gives others in her shoes. If this was something easy to change - my guess is there would be a lot less suicides and hate crimes over it in this country.
  2. What's the over/under on how many times Woody had to change his underwear watching Ken in that movie?
  3. 🤣 God bless ya! Was Barbie or Ken your cheerleading coach at Michigan?
  4. I'll tell you why. He's got way too many Ohio State fans and their recent 17-5 record against his team living in his brain rent-free like squatters. As always, he has the right to remain silent...
  5. I'm pretty certain he doesn't outrush Josh Allen or ever even come close to it. Let's not pretend he's Michael Vick or Lamar Jackson either. Watson ran a 4.66 forty while Drew Lock ran a 4.69 if we want to put it in perspective. I'd like to see if we can figure out how to use him the way Houston did. Here's his passing and rushing stats that split during the cut and paste; but you can still see the 1st 4 years were Houston and the last 2 were Cleveland SEASON TEAM 2017 HOU 2018 HOU 2019 HOU 2020 HOU 2022 CLE 2023 CLE Career GP CMP ATT CMP% YDS AVG TD INT LNG SACK RTG QBR 7 126 204 61.8 1,699 8.3 19 8 72 19 103.0 83.7 16 345 505 68.3 4,165 8.2 26 9 73 62 103.1 61.8 15 333 495 67.3 3,852 7.8 26 12 54 44 98.0 70.5 16 382 544 70.2 4,823 8.9 33 7 77 49 112.4 63.7 6 99 170 58.2 1,102 6.5 7 5 46 20 79.1 40.4 6 105 171 61.4 1,115 6.5 7 4 59 17 84.3 42.9 66 1390 2089 66.5 16,756 8.0 118 45 77 211 100.8 - Rushing SEASON TEAM 2017 HOU 2018 HOU 2019 HOU 2020 HOU 2022 CLE 2023 CLE Career GP CAR YDS AVG TD LNG FD FUM LST 7 36 269 7.5 2 49 14 1 0 16 99 551 5.6 5 34 33 3 1 15 82 413 5.0 7 30 29 6 1 16 90 444 4.9 3 16 31 4 1 6 36 175 4.9 1 21 10 1 0 6 26 142 5.5 1 16 10 2 1 66 369 1,994 5.4 19 49 127 17 4
  6. Ohio State was ready for his legs. What they weren't ready for was his passing precision. His pose after every back breaking throw was the bow and arrow representing the bulls eye he just hit. Same with Alabama. What did Ohio State and Alabama have in common? A multiplicity of 1st and 2nd round drafts on their defense.
  7. That's it - my coping mechanisms are fired!
  8. Here's the latest NFL body by Lasik from Crablegs: 2023 53.2% comp 264 yards 2 TD passes 3 INT 57.4 rating 2022 63.5% comp 868 yards 4 TD passes 5 INT 79.5 rating We could be re-defining the question - Feeling crabby?
  9. Slight stretch here; but are any of Kurt Warner's 20 kids or so ready yet? Believe it or not, I was often reminded Dan Marino was very difficult to sack (and the quick release was only part of it). Brady wasn't easy to sack either. Bernie wasn't as easy to sack as he looked either. It's amazing what the combination of brain cells and vision can do for a QB. Today, I'm thinking Jared Goff and Matthew Stafford are what's left representing old school pocket. I say that; but EVERY time Stafford seems to play Cleveland he pulls out this 3 times in a career Lamar Jacksonesque "you ain't sacking this." It seemed like it was only exclusive to Cleveland.
  10. That's why we need a LT to prevent the joystick QB. The more that habit is repeated the tougher it is to tame. I wish someone would have drilled Elway all those times he left the pocket before any of those 3 Conference Championship games against the Browns.
  11. 3 guys and they're all slight reaches that should go after #23 and before #35 overall: Quinyon Mitchell, CB Toledo 6-0 195lbs. Lindy's writes: set a school record 25 pass break-ups and 5 INTs in 2022 (edit: Athlon Sports only shows 19 PBUs for him that year - still killer good but I'm disappointed there's a discrepancy on that info), In 40 starts overall he has a a program record of 46 pass break-ups. Had a pair of pick 6s and 4 INTs against Northern Illinois. Flugel's piggyback: You know it's coming whether it's a pressing need or not. Andrew Berry was a 4 years starter as a CB and 3 time All-Ivy League Team selection and an All American honoree so he thinks Corner is very important. He's right! T'Vondre Sweat, DT Texas 6-4 362lbs. I'm gonna trust my gut, his gut, and others', plus his 2023 Outland Trophy Award as well as his 1st Team All American honor. He'll be invaluable to our LBs. He's a 362 pound reason Jaylan Ford was a 2 time All Big 12 Selection and a Butkus Award Finalist on his way to becoming 1 of this goofball's 3rd round hopefuls. How can I possibly root for this chemistry to end? Jordan Morgan, LT Arizona 6-5 325lbs. Blindside Pass Protector without frequent episodes of narcolepsy anyone? 3 years of starting experience. Described as a strong kid with solid short area quickness that likes to finish blocks? This is like driving by an all you can eat buffet when you're hungry - it's a dream come true. Both Lindy's and Athlon Sports Draft Mags have him going to NE at #34 overall in their Mock Drafts. Having said that, beyond the generous salary commitment to your QB investment should be a better plan to protect the QB's blind side on the edge. Lazy doesn't cut it while we can ill-afford to watch a barely touched edge rusher with a head of steam planting Watson on his right shoulder. JMO, a lack of attention to this would be irresponsible. Improving LT should have been the off-season thesis of the Browns.
  12. Thanks! That might work Friday. I'll let you know later in the week.
  13. This looks like great value at a position we have to upgrade. Definitely someone to keep our eye during the draft...
  14. To set up my 5 favorite choices for round 3 above - these were the 5 favorites I posted for round 2 about 10 days ago in random order: Troy Franklin, WR Oregon 6-3 187lbs - 81 rec 1383 yards 14 TDs in 2023 and 61 rec 891 yards 9 TDs in 2022 Brandon Dorlus, DT/DE Oregon 6-3 290lbs - Can play inside or outside like a Poor Man's Richard Seymore and productive at both. Cooper Beebe, OIL Kansas state 6-4 335lbs - Ferocious 4 year starter with great technique and polished fundamentals. Experience at Guard and Tackle on both sides. Only in the football sense - he warms my groins... Tyler Nubin, S Minnesota 6-2 210lbs - 4 year starter. Can play free safety or strong safety. The last 3 of his 4 years starting he ranged from 52-55 tackles. GREAT open-field tackler with 9 INTs 7 PBUs in the last 2 years and I love his frame almost as much as his football IQ. If gone, Calen Bullock, 6-3 USC 190lbs - 63 tackles 2 INTs 7 PBU in 2023 and 48 tackles 5 INTs 5 PBU Payton Wilson LB NC State 6-4 238lbs Great instincts, deceptive speed, good pass defender, great combine workout, 138 tackles and 6 INTs in 2023. Biggest concern is he's had some serious injuries in the past but not recent.
  15. Me too! That said, if he goes before we pick I think Ford offers us the same type of complement to JOK. Last year our ILB was a liability against the pass so we're filling a major need and weakness with either of these guys. In the last 2 years: Ford had 6 INTs, 21.5 TFL, 3 sacks, 220 Tackles in 27 Games. Colson had 0 INTs, 8 TFL, 2 sacks, 196 Tackles in 29 Games. Both were ILBs projecting to be ILBs at the next level.
  16. Who's sad? Ohio State dominates your team and you. You bring up 1 exception to that rule but it's loaded with asterisks. You know this and so does every reader in this thread. You're literally carrying this on all the while you have yet to convince yourself you're pumped about a Championship that required a Head Coach suspension that you said was going to be really easy for Harbaugh to get out of. Remember that? Hang in there. With any luck they might start making Raspberry Chewables Prozac for you soon.
  17. Why is Michigan 5-17 against Ohio State in the new millennium? Is the whoop ass gettin too spicy for you? We can do this as long as you want. The reality is that the scoreboard I keep showing you caused recruiting violations and stealing signs on the sidelines from the Annie's Arbor Football program... 😁 Ohio State has 2 National Championships since 2000 - no asterisks required. Anything less from other programs causes asterisks, coaching suspensions/firings and uh-ohs... 😁
  18. Thanks Gumbs! One thing I like about Lindy's Draft Mag is they listed him as an ILB where the Athlon Draft mag just lists all LBers (but shows their stats for all years played, which I really like). I was deciding between between Colson and him. Colson is actually rated higher. Lindy's projects Colson in round 2 and Athlon projects him in round 3 where they project him as their 3rd highest rated LB and Ford as their 5th highest rated LB. I leaned the way I did because of the 6 INTs from Ford the last 2 years and none from Colson. Also, I factored in that I put Payton Wilson my list of 5 favorite prospects for 2nd round. These 2 rounds I made sure we had an OLB and and ILB and both being good in coverage. Both Ford and Colson were blessed with terrific DTs in front of them to make their lives against the run easier. You mentioned UNC's Cedric Gray - Lindy's top rated ILB is Cedric Gray with a projection of rd 1-2 while Athlon (rating all the LBers together) lists him as their 4th highest rated LB with a rd 3 projection. The variance of ratings and projections make this a little challenging but it's fun getting more familiar with what they've done and what they can offer teams in the draft.
  19. The interesting thing here is 2 of the 3 lowest paid Head Coaches are employed by the teams in Ohio - that have drastically improved their frequency of making the playoffs fwiw.
  20. Don't try this after tailgate parties...
  21. They should be careful what they wish for. We have such fond memories of losing our red hot place kicker Dustin Hopkins when nobody stayed in their lanes on our kickoff coverage team... For a league that pretends to care about player health - their actions speaking louder than words slam dunks otherwise. Just look at the injury volumes in an era aiming to put people in space for more violent collisions. There's less injuries and concussions in rugby played without head gear and pads. Why should the NFL consider physics?
  22. I listed Rice too. It's gonna be very interesting to see which guy has the better NFL career. The only one we have a shot at drafting is Rice. Both Rice and Harrison are bigger than their dads. Without an official stop watch confirming this - Harrison is rumored to be faster than his dad (inclusive of a much bigger wing span). The one thing nobody ever seems to talk about or admire much with Harrison or Rice was their durability perpetuating all their awesome accomplishments.
