Z, it's not the on field stuff- it's the off field stuff that bought him his ticket out of town. He knows what he has to do, and can't do it- or just plain doesn't care.

Well, I called him out on both didn't I?

Early and often.

Josh McCown ... that's a Cleveland Brown. Hope the new coach keeps him.

Then why send a text to the Browns org saying "pick me pick me!"

that's an easy one....he was falling out of the first round and needed a desperate team to pull the trigger.

I have believed from day one he was a con man. I actually think he's so good at manipulating that he doesn't even know he's doing it himself.

The real sin here, is that any of you ever accepted this piece of shit once his colors were exposed. There was simply no reason for him to have ever finished his rookie year as a Brown. How could anyone not know this guy hated Cleveland?

Seriously, would you want to play in Cleveland? You would have to be nuts.

why was he even drafted? thats the one I don't get.

I don't like Pettine but there isn't a viable replacement. Fire Farmer (Obviously)

Make Haslam sign a contract that he won't intervene.

That's the best I can come up with.

Anyone else got a better idea?

Oh you wanted to keep Pettine at 5pm? Hows all those months whining about Pettine seem to you now? You see what this clown show is now? We get talk about Sashi Brown. You cant' make this shit up anymore. Congrats, you got what you wanted all season long. Now it's gonna get fun.

They both had to go and even though their fate, positive or negative, was always going to be sealed together, they refused to work collaboratively. Also, either Haslam refuses to work with advisors or he's is not taking their advice or he needs to fire them for bad advice. He's already screwed up the turnaround with his first decision (sashi brown)

Report: Browns' Manziel skipped meeting Sunday morning

Jan 3 2016, 8:44 PMJoe Thomson

The Cleveland Browns tumultuous relationship with quarterback Johnny Manziel may soon come to an end.

Manziel did not show up for a scheduled meeting with the team doctor Sunday morning and was unreachable by phone, according to Peter King of Sports Illustrated.

This comes one day after Manziel, who is currently under the league's concussion protocol, was reportedly spotted gambling in Las Vegas. Manziel's agents withheld comment about his whereabouts since Saturday, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.

At this point, it seems likely the team will move on from Manziel, and speculation has it that the former Heisman Trophy winner wants to go to the Dallas Cowboys.

Neither former head coach Mike Pettine nor owner Jimmy Haslam could say if Manziel was in Las Vegas over the weekend, though Haslam confirmed that he missed his concussion treatment.

I do too Z- he's a quality backup. Not a starter though.

I read the thread and skimmed the links, but apparently missed any reports as to why he wasn't on the sideline today.

That's just something you do right? Whether pro sports or youth girls fastpitch, unless you're hospitalized, you are on the sideline showing you care.

Johnny don't care- that should be obvious by now.

Two more years.

Let him rot.

The only problem with that Z (and to others espousing that scenario) it's as big a waste of a roster spot as Dwayne Bowe was this year. He's probably not even going to last a couple years without landing in the league substance abuse program. Amazing he hasn't already landed in it.

I really appreciate that.....truly.....thanks!

But...like a few others here....Ive been in the game a long long time now.....(40+ years)...seen it all(or so I thought)....

Our family had season seats, starting in 1970....and I attended EVERY.....SINGLE.....GAME.....from 1970 till 1991.....so, thats every game for 21 freaking years......bought, paid for and attended...by moi and pa......plus another 25 years of support since.....

Ive endured Warfield for Phipps....coke head Charles White.....Mad man in a meat market Mike Junkin....got frost bite watching red right 88.....watched us pick Willis Adams, Ron Brown, Steve Holden and Cleveland Crosby(all busts most dont even remember)......I watched Don Rogers die and Eric Turner walk away..... i cried after the Drive....i cried harder after the Fumble.....I needed meds after the move......I once accepted Jim Pine as a good pick.....I cheered on Tim Couch, Courtney Brown and Trent Richardson......I endured the lying bastard Modell.....live through a dead owners son who didnt even want the team.....and now an owner whose ego wont allow him to make reasonable choices....I endured Brady Quinn, Brandon Weeden and, now, possibly one of the worst QB picks ever in Johnny Punkass Football.....along with a newer, longer list of shit picks like Taylor, Gilbert, Powell, Vardell, Langham, Warren, Green, Winslow, Edwards, Richardson, Mingo and Whimbley....

I have "started over" 16 times now......I am human.....I am very very tired.....and free of ANY hope or faith that Haslem will get it right.....

I think they've finally broken me and my spirit....god have I invested a lot of my life in these fuckers!!.....how many hours?.....how many dollars?.......what a fool.....

but I DO appreciate your attempt at raising my spirits..........thanks for that.

Jimmy Haslem.....if you are reading this???....from a solid SOLID 40 year fan.....FUCK YOU MAN!

I just wanna do a virtual fistbump here, and totally deny any welling up in the eyes. I'll read the rest of the thread now...

I believe the Browns stated if you are in the concussion protocol you are not allowed on the side lines during the game. So his absence is neither caring or uncaring. If he was in Vegas then he is done.

Correct... not allowed on the sideline, but was expected in Berea for treatment and apparently no-showed.

But we haven't heard his side yet...

Y'all certainly are quick to pass judgement.

Need some level heads around here...

Like Stockboy...

... and MH...

... and DHBF...

I do too Z- he's a quality backup. Not a starter though.

McC'll do until our new rookie is up to speed...

"They refused..."

That Pet and Farm did not work well together is clear.

Determining which one was primarily responsible for the dysfunction is not easy unless you see them together and in other relationships apart from each other.

I have no reason to believe that Haslam has spent the time to make that determination.

Not apparently.....confirmed by Haslam that he didn't show up and they had no idea where he was. Johnny shitshows agents declined to comment.

I could give a shit if he was in Vegas....but once again he doesn't show up when he's supposed to and we want this assclown on the team why exactly??? How can the few defenders still defend this behavior?

I don't see any more defenders Mark. Let him stay in Vegas. He'll either have an epiphany or will end crawling home broke.

Yea we know. We want him to go to Dallas too.

Actually....in my opinion.....if indeed all this shit is being done by Johnny so he can get out of Cleveland and go to Dallas....then the one thing we need to do is to punish him. How?

Keep Johnny in Cleveland.

Sure....fuck no, don't play him.....Put him in Purgatory. Bring him back to training camp.....put him in the preseason games. Hint all along that you will trade or release him...

Then find a way to get him on to the Injured Reserve list. In those preseason games put him out there with our 3rd string OL against the opponents starters.....and let him get hammered. Find a way to put him on the Browns IR list so that he will have to sit an entire year.....where he will get no attention from anyone. Not the TMZs, or other teams, or other media.

Make him persona non grata.

Let him stew for a year in anonymity. That would serve him proper.

The reality Tom is in the history of the NFL a first round pick has never been cut after one season. I don't think he hated Cleveland- it's just that he likes partying and drinking more. Assuming Tony Grossi is right- and I have no reason to believe he'd make up an accusation like that if he wasn't sure it was correct- Manziel showed up for work drunk on Wednesday. Most corporations would have fired him on the spot for something like that. The only reason they didn't cut him is the (faint) hope they can sucker a seventh round pick out of Dallas for the guy.

I do have to ask this question.....because you all accuse Bernie Kosar of it:

If he was truly suffering from serious concussion ramifications.....couldn't it appear that he was drunk without being drunk?

Not making excuses for him.....but I am wondering if it was really that, and that is why he was declared inactive so soon with no chance to evaluate him.

Maybe he really suffered some damage. I saw a reel from the KC game where it showed JMZ being earholed once, body slammed on his head another two times.

So, maybe he really, really was in a very bad state of concussion.....and his dishelvement and actions were those of a guy with a bad concussion and not a guy that was inebriated.

Again, no excuses for him.....his trip to Vegas was enough to put him on any shit list.....but still. Drunk or concussed? (unless they say he had a strong odor of alcohol about him)

That is why I say get him on to the IR if you can. Then you do'n't waste that roster spot.
